lovely hotel well looked after in queit location till night breaks and the pub opposite have lockins till 2 and 3 am would love to stay here again but totaly put off by the rowdy lockins perhaps if we had had a room to rear of hotel might have been better also room a little on small side but food of good quality but little choice drinks good choice even though they are very over priced why should a g and t and pint cost £11 here and yet can get double gand t and pint at home for £8 there is no need for such high prices

Booked 2 double rooms with a friend and was shown to a room I would be hard pushed to call a single. Had a small double bed squeezed in between the front wall and the en-suite wall with about a foot between the bed and the outer wall. Sat on edge of bed, got up and was nose to wall. Imagine getting up in the dark with no lamp and no space!!!! No room for a lamp or bedside table. My friend had a better size room but his bed, like mine, was low and uncomfortable which was no good for him has he has mobility issues. We were informed that these were specially made beds for hotels, I don't think so. Add to that the incredible racket from the square outside. Don't mind chatter but this was yelling, swearing and boy racers revving engines on a Tuesday evening. General staff were helpful and pleasant but manager was surly, uninterested and unhelpful. We made the decision to just leave and drive home to Devon. Didn't expect a full refund but the attitude we got from the manager put a spoiler on our trip and cost us £160.

Came here for Sunday lunch, absolutely wonderful roast dinner, 3 courses for £20, not bad at all! Garrett and his staff were lovely and made me and my partner feel so welcome. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice lunch after a walk by the river.

Old fashioned wood panelled restaurant and hotel, has a small car park to the rear and parking in the square is limited. Hotel has been there for years and has a lovely old atmosphere. Located on the square next door to the Church with the Thames a short stroll away.
