The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, ordering a taxi for us ahead of our stay so that we could attend a party on the evening we arrived. (a driver and car who were friendly and courteous but not a licensed cab).

Yes, both mine and my colleague's rooms had an electric kettle for boiling water.
Please note however, if you're traveling with a baby, there are lots of narrow and steep staircases which could cause you trouble.

I don't believe they do allow dogs. They were not unfriendly when we were there but the staff were not always as ready to serve as you may wish, especially the staff at breakfast. Reception staff seemed fine.
