Stayed here in August with my two grandchildren for the second time for three nights. Management and staff gave us five star treatment. A special thank you to the chef who made sure both my grandchildren had varied and delicious meals even though they have several food allergies. We will certainly book for another stay here, nothing is too much... More

We paid £90 for both of us for one night b&b. The hotel is quite tired & needs updating. The bedroom was basic with quite tired furniture but the bed was clean & quite comfortable. The bathroom could so with updating & a more modern shower fitted as the 1 in place was the old fashioned type coming of the... More

Stayed here for one night, had booked a single room but was allocated a large spacious double with a lovely big bay window with a great sea view. Good hotel even if a touch dated. Breakfast was nice and tasty but the organisation of taking orders was not the best, i waited ages to have my order taken and then... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in August while working nearby. The room was clean & comfortable. friendly staff. Situated Close to sea front and easywalking distance to the town centre.. Lots of places to eat.. Would happily stay again.

We booked through Booking.com and when we arrived found that we had be upgraded to the Woodcock Suite. Great room, lots of spac, clean and with large flat screen television - and a balcony with fantastic sea views and a table and chairs to sit out on. The manager was welcoming and she was also extremely helpful. We had a... More

Stayed one night here on way to Newcastle, wish we had stayed longer. Darren and his staff really looked after us, the room very comfortable and the breakfast (English) brilliant. The hotel situated right on the seafront and ten minutes to the center of the resort. Bridlington a very popular and enjoyable resort, with very competitively priced food and beverages,... More

I was reluctant to book this hotel on the basis of the reviews on this site. But as it was last minute and a bank holiday we had little choice. It was far better than I was expecting. A nice room, helpful staff, and a good breakfast. Generally the decor was good throughout, it just needs a bit of improvement... More

Well somehow we struck lucky and got the Woodcock suite. It was huge, had a sea view, and was clean and decent. What a shame that the hotel didn't rethink their prices while the Lifeboat station is being built! Essential as it is, the workmen woke us up early every morning and the view was spoilt by, literally, a building... More

The Monarch is a sad and threadbare establishment locked in the 1950s It needs substantial investment to bring it up to acceptable 21st century standards We considered that the £140 we were forced to pay by moving on was money well spent Time has passed the Monarch by......and so should you Hi

In my opinion the main reason why this hotel fills its rooms is because of its close proximity to the Spa Theatre. It is in desperate need of refurbishment. We had a room for one night and if I am honest i wouldnt have wanted to stay any longer. Both the carpet in the room and the lino in the... More
