Visited the French Horn last weekend as part of recent "special" birthday celebrations. It was my first visit but my partner had been many times before - mainly for business dinners. The location is amazing; the grounds & the riverside setting are utterly stunning. The hotel itself is reassuringly very traditional and the atmosphere is tranquil and serene. The Reception... More

A really beautiful hotel set in lovely gardens and grounds over looking the Thames. The room we had was in the annex and was two tiered the sitting room was dark and small however the bedroom was well furnished and the bathroom and shower was very modern and I would have thought just recently refurbished. Dinner was fine dining and served... More

We had the most perfect dinner, bed and breakfast, overnight stay at the French Horn for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We were so lucky with the incredible weather and thrilled we had chosen to stay in the quintessentially English two-storey cottages, across the road from the main restaurant. Gorgeous views overlooking the river, comfy bed, large, spacious bathroom with robes... More

We wanted a nice quiet weekend break away in a nice place with good dining overlooking the river Thames that wasn't too far to travel to and that's exactly what we got. The French Horn is undoubtedly a fine dining experience with accommodation rather than a hotel with a good restaurant. We were quite lucky to get accommodation booked as... More

i came here to lunch with three friends, as we had heard such good reports of the food, but we were bitterly disappointed! The setting on the river is beautiful and the home-made cheese straws and melba toast delicious, but from then on it was downhill all the way. The starter of cods roe on toast was, frankly, disgusting with... More

Dreadful snobs think they can force patrons to eat inside rather than enjoy the terrace. Middle of summer and a hotel guest I was entitled to eat in the fresh air. I will not pay the premium for this hotel again

I stayed in this hotel this week with a colleague and two senior managers from one of our customers. Our 'rooms' were converted workman's cottages over looking the Thames. We ate in the restaurant in the hotel which was stunning; fine cuisine served with knowledge and enthusiasm. If the Maitre d' minded us enjoying the atmosphere and sampling the fine... More

This is a delightful place by the Thames nice grounds, the food is all freshly cooked for you big selection to choose from in all sections of it. Portion size is reasonable depending on what you have but all very tasty well worth a visit but need lots of money as expensive.highly recommended.

We stayed at The French Horn for our anniversary, on arrival we were escorted by the butler to the lovely little cottages on he river (no 26) and we were pleasantly surprised! very old inside which makes the snugly cottage feel, gas coal effect fire, TV in living room and bedroom, twin basins, bath and stand alone shower with dressing...
