We, a family of 5, stayed one week in a beautiful very well equipped lodge. We were advised that only a towel for use with the hot tub was needed, true. The location and surroundings were amazing and unexpected. Everyone was so friendly and helpful in the holiday park and the Saddleworth villages We will certainly visit again.

A wonderful and relaxing holiday destination. Loved walking around Dovestones and Uppermill. The Lodge was so nice, and well-equipped, I felt I could live there! Hot tub was super clean and maintained like new! Fabulous! Thanks so much, we look forward to coming again!

Just stayed at Dovestones in a Pod with my wife, two teenagers, and the dog. It was clean and secure, friendly security guards on site. The staff were charming, helpful, and welcoming. I couldn't recommend this place more. Location is great - lovely country pubs and restaurants nearby. The walk around the reservoir was simply stunning. Thank you for having us, we had a lovely time. We will definitely be coming back!

Stayed over the weekend in one of the wooden Lodges, with my family and it was a great little getaway from everyday life, with a fantastic hot tub to enjoy. A little adventure for kids & relaxation for adults! Facilities were really good, had all we needed in the kitchen area, plenty of space in fridge and freezer, there's a dishwasher but we didn't need to use it & lots of cupboard space. Bedrooms spacious, with en suite on top of main bathroom. Local to Tesco and great pubs to eat at too!

We had an excellent weekend staying in the Safari Tent as a group of four adults, two children and a dog. The Safari tent itself is beautiful. It’s very new, creatively and thoughtfully designed, well equipped and absolutely spotless! We particularly loved the log fire - staff kept us topped up with all we needed and it kept us cosy throughout the day and night. For food, we ordered from a delicious local takeaway recommended by staff - it arrived without a problem. We then cooked the remainder of our meals which was so easy to do with the well equipped kitchen and thanks to the large supermarket only 5 minutes away. The site is close to the reservoir which had beautiful walks for all abilities and an added bonus of a gorgeous artisanal coffee van and ice cream van too! Huge thanks to Sally and her team for going the extra mile. It was a unique and special stay. We will be back again without a doubt!

Had a wonderful time with family and friends in the new ‘Safari Tent’. Tent must have been just out the wrapper as it was pristine. Kitted out for all eventuality’s, the tent was cosy yet spacious. Kids loved the bunk beds and hidden double bed! Fantastic wood burner heated the place perfectly. Staff could have not been more helpful with the security guard Mohammed making sure our fire wood was topped up daily. Sally and her team could not be faulted from start to finish. We ventured out to Dovestone Reservoir to enjoy the stunning scenery and the local village pub for a Sunday Roast. Great stay and will be back.

Stayed here at one of the lodges for a couple of days and loved everything about it, perfect space for a romantic getaway. Very clean and well kept, private but nice views, we live in Tameside but we felt like we were a million miles away. Hot tub was amazing and we went for a walk round the reservoir, one of our favourite places to walk so to have it on the doorstep was a huge bonus. Staff were really friendly and helpful, 10/10 would definitely come back!

Ok stay but stayed in a lot better for less. When we first arrived we did not know how to open the barriers had to ask another van infront of us which he gave us the code immediately, we was asked to put down £100 deposit after already paying £350 for two nights, they did not warn us of this, we were just given the keys & found our own way in, however it was not hard to find as there is only a hand full of lodges, therefore I would expect someone to show us in as an added touch. The shower in both bathrooms were not even warm at all, towels provided but no dressing gown robes or disposable slippers (this is named a ‘spa’ stay) the hot tub was cleaned first thing which we was happy about. The kitchen was well equipped however some of the utensils were not cleaned properly. The dishwasher tablets were in a jar named under ‘sugar’ this is VERY worrying. No mini complimentary tea, coffee, sugar & milk. Did wake up a few times due to the pillows been hard, to then be spooked by someone walking near our lodge with a torch which was shined in the double bed window, we were in the corner at number 5 so nobody was opposite us. They had to walk down our drive, that was also a dead end. We did not stay the second night my partner wanted a warm shower and after being in the chlorine it’s something you need. Also I was spooked by this event so I didn’t want to stay another night either. Good information pack, good views & walks. We left at 6pm Tuesday evening.

Response from Sally Buckley, General Manager at Dovestone Holiday Park
Responded Mar 2, 2022
Hello Lauren, thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We value all feedback as we our proud of what we do as you will see from the great many excellent reviews. On this occasion I can see you did not entirely have a great trip so I would like to address the issues you faced; I have brought up your booking in the system I can see you were emailed a confirmation, then a welcome email which details the gate access code and arrival procedure including the security deposit required. On your arrival date we were still operating remote check in so we greeted guests kerbisde to handover keys and direct them to their accommodation. Having checked the maintenance log I can see no problem with the hot water/boiler which is checked every changeover day and has been occupied since your departure with no problems. I can only think that you were not turning the temperature up. We do not offer robe and slippers and this is not advertised either, with so few guests requesting this and the environmental factor it is not something we can offer. I will note to the cleaning team the utensils and the jar of dishwasher tablets, this will be actioned upon immediately. We do not offer coffee, tea, sugar and milk and nor is this advertised. We have a 24hr security on site, that will have been the person with the torch. Security are unformed with high vis jackets on and walk through the site hourly during dark hours. At lodge 5, there is not a dead end but a locked gate which security will pass through during their rounds. Within the information book in the lodge we explain about security patrols and there is also an emergency number that can be called 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week, that comes through to my mobile and I will quickly resolve any issues guests may face. Our office was also open during your stay and we have maintenance staff on site every day. Had we known you had any issues we would have happily resolved them quickly for you. Guest enjoyment of their holiday is our sole purpose. We do hope that given the above information you will choose to come and stay with us again. Kind regards Sally

We had such a lovely time at Dovestones Holiday Park. We stayed in a pod and it was some homely. It had everything you need, everything had been thought of. It was so clean, lovely and warm. Fantastic setting, so peaceful, relaxing and tranquil. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and will do anything to make your stay the best it can be. There is information on local walks, things to do, everything you need. There is so much to do in the local area and fantastic food and drink choices as well as the option to cook your own. Our dog also loved being so close to the amazing walks and right on the lakeside. It is our first time in a pod but definitely won’t be our last. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will definitely be back :)
