I write this at 10:42 pm as the Blues band gives it large in the cellar bar This is the, as advertised, "insulated cellar bar", which I can only imagine has been covered with fairy wing gossamer, because from my room on the first floor I can clearly hear, note by effin note, how ropey the bassist is I'm not...

Hotel full of character in the middle of Devizes, good beer (Wadworth). The food was very good with plemty of choice and live music on most Friday nights in the cellar bar. Free car parking at the rear.

My husband, our son and myself stayed here in spec on our way to collect a campervan. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, dinner and breakfast were superb and they even found my earrings I had left behind and agreed to post them back!! We had one of the best experiences ever in...

Firstly I wouldn't dare mention the age of my wife whose birthday we were celebrating, I called in a few days before to book for 11 and was offered the private Siddons room at no extra cost from the bistro menu. On the night the room was well laid out, the service and food was excellent, nothing was too much...

Sat in the bar where we could take our dog and almost instantly engaged in conversation with all the locals here who were as welcoming as the staff were. Great value sharing platter which more than filled the two of us up.

Enjoyed 2 nights at the Bear Hotel. This was our third visit in 3 years and didn't disappoint. Room was lovely, clean and spacious. Bed very comfortable. We enjoyed Prosecco in the bar both nights in front of open fire. Breakfast was very nice both mornings.

Located right in the centre of Devizes at the market square. Whether you go in for a meal, snack or just a beer, the service is first class by friendly and helpful staff. The interior is like stepping back into the 40s/50's but in a way that provides all modern amenities.

Simply a lovely pub to visit. The staff are friendly and the beer is nice, with a decent log fire to sit next to. I always pop in when I visit Devizes, on my short loop of the town. In summer I like to sit at the window and watch the world pass by.

Popped in here on a cold frosty morning during December. Went into the front bar, there's no bell to ring for service so walked through to main lounge area after no-one came to serve us. Ordered two hot chocolates which took ten minutes to arrive and were lukewarm when they did! With so much competition in Devizes in terms of...
