On arrival I found parking only in a public car park across the street. At check-in I was advised that there were a few spots available in two openings in the hotel building and managed to squeeze in there. There were only spaces for 4 vehicles. My room was at the back, overlooking a graveyard and church with a clock tower... More

From the outside The Castle Hotel is in desperate need of attention with the paintwork flaking off all the window frames. It doesn't really get any better inside and had we not paid beforehand we would have moved onto another hotel. The staff weren't particularly welcoming or helpful and couldn't help us with advice on where to park so we... More

Hotel Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff, who checked us in and gave us the local information. Clearly the hotel is quite old and has been looked after over the years. Its not a huge place and has lots of small stair wells and corridors which adds the character of the building. Room Our room faced a graveyard,... More

Picked this place as part of a visit to Wadsworth brewery. Surprised that the Castle became the highlight of our trip. Great staff, nice food and an atmosphere in the bar that meant even an England footy draw was enjoyable.

Hotel is off the main highstreet and has very limited private parking. Bar area is nice enough, food for lunch was above average. Rooms could of done with a bit more thorough clean, there where still crumbs on the table from previous occupants. Bed was on the edge of being uncomfortable and there was quite a bit of road noise.... More

It was difficult to find accomodation in Devizes as there was a bank holiday and 2 big wedding in town but we managed to get in for the Friday and Sunday nights as they were full on the Saturday. The hotel is run by a young couple who are very hands on and welcomed us when we got there. We... More

Cycling to Bristol along the Avon Kennet and on route 4 we had an overnight at The Castle hotel. Welcoming, comfortable grade2 listed building with a hearty breakfast. The staff were excellent whether storing our bikes, serving food, drink or front of house. Decided to eat in and a had a tasty supper. Our bikes safely stored to bed using... More

Only stayed one night but this place was great. Food freshly cooked in the evening and a great breakfast. My room was very clean with good quality towels. I found it funny that every time i walked past the wardrobe it would make a noise, though for me this added to the charm of the place. The staff were friendly... More

Very pleasant welcome from staff. Bedroom and bathroom were very clean. The room was a little cluttered with lots of furniture. However, it had tea and coffee, a fridge and a good quality hairdryer. Earplugs were also supplied, presumably because the pub is next to the church and Sunday morning sleep can be disturbed by the bells, but they did... More
