We stayed at Mayfield House a year ago and was very pleased with service food and location, however this time the food was disappointing. On the plus side, very dog friendly, you can eat your evening meal and breakfast with your dog in the "Snug" area. Near to Malmesbury and Tetbury which is mainly antique shops, we can recommend the...

Stayed recently for three day break. Double room for single occupancy whilst compact had all that is needed to combine business and pleasure, dressing table/desk with easily available power points for I.pad etc, hairdryer provided. Shower room immaculate , good power shower and all one needed. Room service available would prove useful if extra work time needed or simply private...

When we arrived we were shown to our room - an hour or so later a small problem arose at which the management were very quick to react - apologising - and immediately moved and upgraded us ... The service was fantastic ... The hotel is tidy but a little tired ... The breakfasts were very good and again the...

Pleasantly surprised when reception offered a room upgrade on realising my wife's health issues. The room was large and clean and had a wet room shower. Nice and quiet and none of the problems mentioned by earlier reviewers. Good cooked breakfast. Only downside was a staff row in the kitchen!

We visited here for a two night stay during our week off. The location is pretty and parking plentiful (albeit badly lit). We were shown our room which was a decent size and had two beds in it; a single and a double. When inspecting the room further I happened upon the bathroom- this absolutely stank of oil and cooking...

The hotel is in need of modernisation, it felt old and very tired. The heating went off during the first night to the extent I could see my breath, it was still cold the other nights even though the thermostat was turned up. The bathroom smelt of cooking fried food which made my clothes smell of fat. The food was...

Our stay, under very sad circumstances was made "easy" by all the staff. The room was very comfortable and clean although the fittings could do with updating. The food was excellent as was the bar and waiting staff.

Myself & many others in my family travelled here just after christmas. John our duty manager & Sian checked our group in with ease & huge smiles all round, helped us to our rooms & gave us all relevant information. Room 17 decor is dated, but clean & comfortable. Shower abit afraid of pressure. We had a large family meal...

We enjoyed everything about this hotel - its location, our comfortable room, the atmosphere, the food and especially the friendly staff. We spent four days here over Christmas and made the most of every minute. We had one of the 'dog friendly' allocated rooms and it didn't disappoint. It was warm, cosy and comfortable and the towels and all sundries were...
