We popped by for a visit to the Village and after a meander, decided it was time to eat. The welcome was warm and friendly and the landlord had plenty of time for us. It was quiet and I'd not expect that 1-1 in the height of the tourist season. I had a cheese and gammon sandwich on the most...

Arrived for an evening meal, staff friendly Meal nice apart from the chip wedges being black, a couple complained but got terrible reply from waiter twice, I would have walked out if he spoke to me like that, the poor barman was very embarrassed, slightly inflated prices for poor service . Lovely puddings

The Castle Inn Hotel was by far my favorite bed and breakfast that I stayed in on my 2 week trip to both England and Scotland. It has an amazing historical feel and wonderful charm. It is an older inn that has been updated to have all modern amenities. The quaint cobblestone streets complement the architecture of the hotel, which...

The main let down was the staff, I suspect the chef is actually quite good but a number of issues: 1) We ordered one starter but this was brought out with main courses for everyone else, when we had intended to share the starter 2) Some of the mains had clearly been on the side for 5-10 mins as the...

For someone who grew up locally and frequented many of the pubs in NW Wilts, no, all of the pubs except this one, it was time to give it a try. Not really a pub now, the hotel title is a big clue, but the room was fabulous, sat on the chaise long looking our over the market square enjoying...

On arrival at castle Combe we was amazed on how beautiful and quaint this little hidden gem in a green valley was !. Even though the village its self was very Small it is captivating and interesting in every corner. We took some of the local walks that where advised by the hotel and enjoyed our self. We then returned...

We popped in here whilst having a stroll around the village and were greeted by a very friendly barman. We only had a soft drink and a piece of cake and sat ourselves in the lounge area. Lovely old pub and from the amount of reserved tables it was very popular. Will hopefully return to try the food at some...

I booked this two night stay as a Christmas present for my husband - I booked an executive double, and yes I suppose I should have expected a double from this description but being executive I assumed it would be minimum a 5 ft bed but it wasn't. The room was beautiful, clean, lovely toiletries, fluffy towels and dressing gowns...

We had lunch here on a sunny Saturday in January. The food was ok, but not amazing. It was a bit more expensive than the average pub and so I was expecting a bit more quality, which was not really delivered. Maybe the food is better in the evening? Also, the lunch menu is rather limited. We won't be hurrying...
