There is an arrogance about the staff in this spectacularly beautiful place that kept us from enjoying our experience to the full. That annoying feeling you get when somebody gives you the impression that you should consider yourself lucky they are willing to serve you an overpriced cup of coffee.

Dear ginovandevelde, Thank you for your recent feedback and I am so sorry you felt the way you did. Especially disappointing when you read the other reviews which praise the staff. Certainly something for us all to be aware of and really did not feel that guests were ever made to feel that way. Best regards, Stephen General Manager

Perfect food! Charming polite staff. Quality quarters, we needed nothing more. The place time forgot. Tranquility. I cannot think of anything I would change. This place was everything I could possibly want. I loved it. If you have not been and you love England and all that it stands for and your standards are high, go to Manor House at...

I proposed to my wife here 7 years ago, and we both decided it's the best place for our BabyMoon just before the arrival of the little one. I booked a Sunday tasting menu and overnight in a plush suite. Amazing. Absolutely everything was sparkling and new, no tired upholstery, the bathrooms are their specialty and our room was great....

We stayed in one of the cottages for my partners birthday and booked the tasting menu in the restaurant for the evening. The cottage was lovely, really well appointed with a fabulous bathroom. The restaurant was great, the tasting menu was really good and the Sommelier was super knowledgeable and did a great job in terms of picking the perfect...

We have stayed at the Manor House on many occasions over the years as we find the setting, the rooms, and services excellent. We have taken friends and family to share the experience and have enjoyed our stays. Once we stayed there with our sons and their young families to celebrate our anniversary and found out that the children were...

Dear LondonFlyingdutchman, Thank you for your constructive feedback. I am so sorry you did not enjoy the food as much as you might have done and your comments have been naturally fed back to the Executive Chef. It is a real shame as you can see from many other guests feedback on the site the food has been generally well...

What can i say about the Manor House Hotel other than it is absolutely amazing. We booked to stay here for our 1st wedding anniversary in one of the cottages, with a picnic hamper (and a few extras such as flowers, prosecco were provided) with the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing. It was such a perfect weekend away...

I organised a baby shower for my cousin and she was blown away with the service, the cakes and the venue. What a memorable afternoon. The staff were going the extra mile for us . Love Castle Combe and looooved The Manor House. 😍

We discovered the Manor House last autumn after visiting its sister hotel near Winchester. The hotel is an ancient building which has retained original features from past centuries in the common areas. The bedrooms are all individually designed, some with the most extraordinary bathrooms. We have stayed in quite a few now and intend to continue our discoveries. The hotel...

The stunning view of the hotel as you approach from the driveway sets the scene for the whole stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. We stayed in a plush room which was akin to a junior suite and they really had thought of everything. A personal favourite was the TV in the...

Fabulous building, beautiful grounds and the most amazing night's sleep I have had for over 50 years!! In terms of quality and luxury, the Manor House has it all, with all the complementary niceties you would expect from a top notch hotel, complemented by welcoming and attentive staff. Although my room had safe, bathrobes/slippers, tea/coffee making facilities, and even an...

Dear dintie56, Thank you for your review. Sorry about one or two of your frustrations, the hairdryer is usually in the wardrobe in every room and if not we can arrange to get one to you straight away. As far as the heating is concerned it is on a thermostat in every radiator and can be managed manually, again if...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It’s decadent, it’s cosseting, it doesn’t get much grander than The Manor House in Wiltshire, a country house with a difference. Dine in the Michelin star Bybrook restaurant or take a stroll around the picture box village of Castle Combe. ... more   less
