We stayed at the White Hart Hotel on Saturday 6th August 2016. The hotel was ok, an old coaching house, more a pub with rooms than a hotel and in need of some work. I was surprised at the £80 b&b charge, having stayed in a number of hotels in the area. We checked in during the afternoon, and the... More

We arrived late - 8:40 on a Saturday, from a long day travelling, hoping to eat a meal in the pub. We were advised the kitchen was closing, although customers were still ordering at tables and there were plenty of free tables to eat at.. . . and it was still only 8:40! As had not eaten all day, we... More

Thank you for your most incomplete and rather unhelpful review, of which your attitude permeates just as much as it did upon your arrival. There is the usual quantity of glaring omissions and blatant lies. To start with saying you arrived at 8:40 (obviously pm) depends upon which time-zone you are using as we know your arrival time is not... More

Went in this pub for a drink and were pleasantly surprised to find it had some music. The bar maid who served us was exceptional, very pleasant and efficient, shame it cannot be said for who appeared to be the Landlord. He only appeared to serve the regulars, ignoring visitors who had been waiting ages to be served. He obviously... More

There is something very unusual about somebody walking past a 3.6 metre banner pronouncing to the world how The White Hart is now broadcasting 24/7 on a community radio station: and not notice it. Even more unusual is how anybody cannot possibly know how much live music is played at The White Hart and what a reputation as a centre... More

My wife and I stayed here having attended the Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. It was a last minute booking as everywhere else in the area was full but I'm glad we found it! Clean room, comfy bed and a delicious cooked breakfast in the morning. What more could you ask for.

Dark, dingy and dirty room....highlight was the 42" screen newly attached to the wall. I would have gladly traded that for some cleanliness. The sink was full of matted hair and the shower dripping and damp with a sodden bath mat stuck to the floor. Sheets were clean and acceptable and the breakfast was good but the paint peeling off... Thank you for your review, the first in almost two months which we feel reflects the worthiness and credibility of Tripadvisor. As always we have the right to reply and indeed we have. Having had time to interview the two cleaners, gain access to the room first (having seen the review) we have three primary concerns: 1. Why was nothing... More

My wife and I were supposed to be staying in the Landsdowne hotel for 4 nights but the locked up and went to bed so we were left driving around Calne at 1130 looking for somewhere to stay. Thankfully we noticed a light on in the White Hart and when I knocked the door asking for a room to the... More

My wife and I stayed here for a wedding - the day before, the civil ceremony day, and the "real" day - so 3 nights in all. The landlord, David, has kept alive the great combination of Pub and Inn. He has found records showing it has been an Inn continuously for 400 years. The Pub is a real "local",... More

I've lived in Calne my whole life and never felt so unwelcome in a pub in my own town. The landlord is so arrogant and landlady stands over your shoulder staring at you all night , would not recommend it , there's better places to drink and stay in Calne .
