We have just stayed for a short weekend while my partner did his ultra marathon and we loved it at the Bug & Spider. Ok the rooms are a bit worn but the beds are comfortable and the rooms have everything you need in them! From the second we walked in the door we were made to feel welcome and... More

visited with my scuba diving club. bar not very welcoming. poor choice of beers. food was ordered. wife and I both had rump steak. my rare steak was medium and my wife's medium rare was well done. a couple of our group had sticky toffee pudding but looked like it had come from Iceland and been microwaved.

The walls were paper thin but the bar was not very inviting and the restaurant stopped serving food at 7.45pm....no needless to say we did not experience the other facilities in the hotel. We did... We stopped for one night as we were going to a party locally. The hotel (pub with rooms) was ok for the price, just lacked a little, some light bulbs weren't working, loose screws in the door lock, tea spoons in the room looked like they had just been run under a warm tap instead of being washed properly. Apart... More

I have been to the pub some time ago and found it ok, but I had to stay in one of the rooms recently and I was seriously impressed. The pub has had a major re-vamp and is now sooo much better for it!! The bar areas are much lighter and welcoming. The condition of the beers are spot on!!... More

Popped in on the way home having seen this pub advertised on a brown road sign. The exterior looked good, fresh and modern as did parts of the interior. The management needs to finish the refurbishment as it is going to look great when it is finished. Friendly barman but disappointing meal as items were missing from our mixed grills... More

Well what can I say, staff not know what doing, as on arrival told to come back later ( but already passed check in time) not offered a drink and to wait in bar ( which would have been a nicer start) There was a refrigerated Lorry in the car park which ran all night, the toilet didn't flush without...
