We booked two rooms for one night for 180$ (5 adults and 2 children). The rooms are equipped with air con and tv, but are super small and with a window facing the internal patio. We have to asked for sheets and towels. The swimming pool is small but does the work. The breakfast was terrible: just some watery filter coffee... More

I really enjoyed staying at Hotel Gran Oceano, The owners Jorge and Alba Lydia were so pleasant to deal with. Although they have limited English their daughter Gina and the front desk clerk Marlon both speak extremely good English and helped with recommendation for tours. The room is a small but quiet and clean room with hot water air conditioning... More

We chartered the Gran Oceano for a half day fishing trip this winter and were very disappointed. We left SJDS and started trolling. 4 Hours later we stopped. We did not get the 1 hour on a beach and the food was a warm home made ham sandwich. During the trip we asked to do some bottom fishing or something... More

After backpacking for 20 days me and a friend decided to stay in a hotel with more privacy . The room was smaller than cheap hostels. Towels were dirty. But the next we would have a good breakfast, right ? No , the breaksfast was terrible and you cannot serve yourself, they give you very few food so we had... More

Was very difficult to set up a stay with this hotel. Had a large group of 26 and the rates they initially gave us increased by the time we arrived. They gave us a price in dollars bust said they had to charge in cordobas which sure enough was $15 more. Wifi didn't work anywhere in the hotel the whole... More

I see many people have written with the same themes that I am about to, however, I will underline-- a place as petty as this one doesn't deserve your business. If one reads my other reviews I think it would be obvious I am not that hard to please. Albeit high season, still at $140 dollars a night I expected:... More

I stayed here for a week at the end of October/beginning of November 2015. The location can't be beat. Its 3 doors down from the main beach area where all the bars and restaurants are. It's a family run business, and the staff are very helpful. The outdoor pool was so great, and the size was huge by Nicaragua standards.... More

I have stayed here several times over the years. I watched the rancho being built and I also got to see the start and finish of the pool. I have seen solar powered hot water tanks added to supply the showers. I've seen a large generator added for those times when the power is down. The staff is always friendly... More
