My daughter and I stayed in one of the small houses on the property. It was a long walk up to the infinity pool but well worth it. The views are spectacular. Our favorite excursion while in San Juan del Sur was a trip we took on Pelican Eye's sailboat. That was worth every penny - great service, good food,...

It is a wonderful place for a short, relaxing vacation - we would have loved to stay longer but it is too expensive for a longer stay - at least for us. But while we were there we enjoyed every minute!

On March 6th, our friends, who had visited the Pelican last year wanted to surprise us by showing us this beautiful resort with the Infiniti Pool. On the internent, it quoted $7.00 per person to use the pool. However, when we reached the gate to the premises, we were told that it would be $20.00 per person. We then walked...

My wife and I where at the Pelican Eyes Resort actually a year ago 2012 and through an outside group enjoyed their pool and facilities (water arobics ) which enticed us back for a day to use the pools/bar and restaurant for $5 each per day, HOWEVER going back this year March 6, 2013, the security guard stated it is...

This resort is very high on style and good on service and quality issues. The location is lovely, on the east end of San Juan del Sur. As many have said, it is a vertical place with many stairs to even the lower level rooms on the hillside. We counted over 100 steps up to Llama del Bosque, but we...

My husband and I were very excited to travel to Pelican Eyes as it had come highly recommended by a trusted friend (although it turned out that he had been here in 2006 before the resort's financial and legal troubles with the original developer). There were many lovely things about the resort - the room (a "studio") was spacious, though...

Stayed in SJDS with another couple, we rented a fantastic condo from AirBNB, but the girls booked massages here thinking it was a fancy joint. Massages were poor, about four times the prices of other spas in town. Both girls were pressured into giving good reviews despite hobbling home in pain. We specifically booked services on Wednesday, because the Pelican...

As I recollect my wonderful vacation in Nicaragua, the beautiful people are at the very top of the list--eyes that speak love and kindness in those I merely observed in the midst of surroundings that seem to lack so many material comforts. To a person, the people at Pelican Eyes who I actually interacted with concerning various matters couldn't do...

Overall we enjoyed our 5 day stay (2/19/13 to 2/24/13) at Pelican Eyes- however there were a few items that gave a less than superior impression. 1) inconsistency in staff recognition of our needs and confusion with how to manage certain situations- I.e. being told to schlep up the hill to get towels from our room for a sailing cruise...

I stayed at the Pelican Eyes Resort in November as part of an organized surfing vacation. My room was absolutely beautiful, with a large bathroom, bedroom and a sitting area with a gorgeous view of San Juan Del Sur from the balcony. Although I did not make use of it, there was a refrigerator and small kitchen area as well...
