Resort was NO resort! No restaurant, No bar, dirty pool, no lounge chairs set up, sandstone pool deck literally falling apart, not safe to walk on. Staff-extremely unfriendly and unhelpful! Expect $20-$30 taxi if you just want to leave the property and go a few blocks. We paid for 2 nights and didn’t even stay!

Absolutely BRILLIANT. I booked for 3 nights and eventually changed my future plans and stayed for 8. What a lovely place! I started in Roble apartment which had a lovely terrace with sea view, and the apartment itself was so comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. The wifi was terrific as every apartment has its own device. The pool was lovely too. I had to switch to Limon partway through my extended stay as Roble was booked, which was a bit cheaper but also terrific, with a garden and side sea view. I didn't want to leave and, as I sit in Playa Maderas, wish I hadn't! The staff were ALL excellent, from security staff and the girls who cleaned the rooms or gave me the room keys to Eliezer who handled a zillion questions from me promptly and professionally via WhatsApp before and during my stay. And in English, which I appreciated as my Spanish is limited. The accommodation is up a series of steps and far enough from town that you've no idea it's a party town below. Yet numerous great eating venues are only a few minutes' walk away, as is the market if you want to to cook in the apartment. It's the nicest place I've stayed in my 4 weeks in Nicaragua and one I'd love to revisit.

I took my family for lunch and to enjoy the pool - we had a great time. Excellent and welcoming service , the food was some of the best in San Juan - a great spot to enjoy the afternoon. The grounds are well maintained , but a bit of an uphill walk to get there.

We visited this restaurant a week ago! The food was absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend this place for any visitors to San Juan. We went around 3 o’clock in the afternoon enjoyed the pool had appetizers and then our dinner. And then of course the amazing sunset! Two hoots for the amazing chef for his fantastic preparation and presentation ... I think his name was Eddie!

This restaurant used to be good, with the new staff, service is very poor. Not sure if it was just a bad night for them. But obviously not very attentive to customer needs. In past years the staff, wore Pelican Eyes attire. Suspect now it’s been outsourced. No uniforms.

Music and crowd were excellent, very inviting, but the bar service was poor. Bar tenders charged wrong + overpriced, and when my friends and I tried to give feedback to the supervisor/manager in a positive tone, he was pretty much a jerk about it. Didn’t like his attitude at all, and that must definitely be the reason for the poor customer service overall. What a pity! I do not recommend celebrating NYE if they keep same staff at the bar.

This place is terrible. We stayed for 6 nights and there was no: Restaurant, pool staff, bars, or wellness area open. The internet constantly goes out. The power goes out which I get but they don't use the back up generator. There isn't even a reception area. Don't bother trying to use the phone in the room because no one answers it.the pool area was packed with old mattresses and furniture. You couldn't even sit in the area.I was looking to invest in one of these condominiums but I'm so glad I stayed here and saved my money.

Went there 2 years ago to try the famous Pelican Eye.....Badly welcome by Spanish (from Spain accent) guy that judged me by my appearance and the one of my brother in law....but when he saw my Visa....then the smile came back. For me it was too late. He was out and in my black book. Not impressed at all. American Breakfast was horrible.....My brother in law, a pure Nica, took Huevos a la Rancheros....and at least the local breakfast was pretty good.....Personal was local and gentil people though....No arrogance like the guy at the desk..... Won't go gain. Don't spend your money there. Too expensive for the welcome you get...Room ? OK to sleep.

We stayed at Casa Cooper, ad adjoining rental house. Fantastic, spacious, elegant, clean, beautiful views. Friendly people in San Juan del Sur, very welcoming. Beach areas have very rustic road access, but well worth it.

Located about an hour and a half from Managua, this hotel is a gem. My family and I had such a great time here. The butterfly garden was a plus. The view from our villa was unbelievable. Everything is walking distance, or you can rent a car to drive down to the beach.
