Spread across a jungle hill rising up from the from playa Escameca Grande, Costa Dulce consists of 11 individual Bungalows and Cabins and 1 room, two yoga shalas, a large lounge/common area , wellness centre and a restaurant the Dulce Cocina. Enjoy ocean views from our eco friendly pool or while relaxing in a hammock or sofa from your front porch. Open air design in all of our unique rooms keeps you cool while connecting you with nature. The Dulce Cocina keeps you healthy and happy with delicious family style meals. Delicious is an understatement the food is amazing! Traditional Nicaraguan food blended with yoga inspired healthiness.

This place is magic. It was built so thoughtfully for surf and for yoga. The food is absolutely amazing. I mean so fresh and healthy and good. The yoga is lovely and I took 2 surf lessons here and learned to surf! This is really a great place to learn how to surf, highly recommend. You can walk to the beach from the resort. There are 2 pools, 2 yoga salas, and 3 massage huts. The massages here are legit. Maria and Heather are AMAZING. Yoga is really good and powerful. The teachers are great. Staff is lovely. I mean they are they ones who really make this place special. Highly recommend this spot for a recharge, retreat or anything you want. It is a bit far from the airport but worth it.

If you're considering booking a stay at Costa Dulce don't hesitate, just do it. I've traveled all around the world, and will attest that this is one of the most beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, and special places that exists. Whether you are there to practice some yoga, try surfing, or just take it easy on the beach and opt for other activities, there is something fun and unique for everyone here. Speaking of, there are even extra activities like bonfire nights, a live band (who are amazing!), a temazcal sweat lodge, Cacao ceremonies (Thanks Tara!), sound baths, trips to San Juan del Sur, & more. The rooms are all gorgeous, with fantastic views and comfortable furnishings (I loved the hammocks and outdoor showers). And, let's not forget the food. Like other reviews mentioned, it is fantastic - truly delicious, healthy & amazing; there is always something for every dietary restriction and they really try to make everyone happy (and succeed). Further, it was a wonderful location for a solo traveller as they set it up to take all your meals together and create a very inclusive and open community to connect with other travelers - something I find really lacking in other places when I travel alone. The sunsets were also so magical, each and every night. On a personal note, I found Costa Dulce to be extremely healing and a place I needed to visit at a certain time in my life, from the people to the location to the ambiance of it, it provides a tranquil space to 'just be' and more importantly a place to be grateful for the moment and world you are living in. Thank you so much to the whole staff for such a wonderful time and experience, and special shout outs to Willie, Lester, Fredy, Tony, Jose, & Diedrys for all their hard work & efforts. As much as I would love to keep this place a secret, I would not hesitate to shout from the rooftops to all my friends & family that this is a must see destination and wonderful ecolodge to visit, I highly recommend it!

Coordinated this Yoga Retreat with 14 of my friends including me there were 15 of us! Costa Dulce was great! Here are the Pros and Cons... Pros- Staff were Amazing! Food was delicious! Accommodations and Spa experience was Amazing. Yoga instructors were great!!! Cons- No welcome introduction or instructions. A bit unorganized in regards to Yoga time practices and activities! Missed communications between owners and staff members in regards to our group schedule. There was another group and we felt that they were prioritize first but this was booked 5 months in advance. One Co-Owner of Costa Dulce was super unfriendly and aloof towards our group. She gave us bad energy/vibes during our 8 day stay there unfortunately. She was upset cuz one of our member fed a stray dog while we were having dinner. But we weren't aware that we are not supposed to feed stray dogs there. No signs that says that. She was also pointing to our group rudely during dinner while whispering to the people on her table. She was acting very immature about the incident. You would think she would be more friendlier and accommodating cuz I brought 15 people at the retreat. Overall-we had a great experience except for that one lady co-owner of the retreat as I mentioned above. I would look into Lake Attilan Guatemala Yoga retreat. We had an amazing experience there from the time we got there until we left!

I loved my stay at Costa Dulce! I went in January to have a fresh start to the new and as a solo female traveler I can say that the Costa Dulce staff was very responsive leading up to the trip and super helpful while I was there. There's a lot of solo travelers there too. They even matched my flight with another guest traveling so we can share and split the cost of the car ride to Costa Dulce. Also, I only stayed 5 days, so if you're not traveling long, look into paying a la carte for things like the yoga, surfing, spa since you don't need the services for the full week. I was also worried about the heat at not since there's no air conditioner (being sustainably solar powered), it was never an issue. And the weather while I was there was noted as unseasonably warm, I slept very comfortably at night. Also, you can ask for a mosquito net if you're sensitive to bugs bites like me, but do it ahead of time just to make sure you reserve in advance.

After a tough year with our family spread to the 4 winds, we were looking for a place to come together at the end of year to recuperate and reconnect. We passed on the annual ski trip and chose Costa Dulce. They delivered big time. The setting is 11 out of 10. The food is simple but healthy and good. Our 11 and 20 yr old son loved the surfing. My daughter and wife loved the yoga. I loved both. Freddy does a great job with the surf school with our boy riding the big break by the end of the week. The staff is wonderful and the beers are only $2. You can be as active or inactive as you like. Great place! Great family vacation. Objectives Achieved.

This is truly a magical place. At the end of a very long dirt road, very secluded and private. Views are astounding. Beach is perfect. Great surfing. Great yoga. Amazing food. Very friendly people. Like no place I’ve ever seen before. No complaints at all

All the five star reviews are on point. I don't recommend getting the spa, surf, and yoga package - the teams work independently and scheduling is very hard. They are updating their web page, but there aren't two yoga classes everyday. Sunday had a workshop (good but not a class) and two days a week there is only a morning class. However, as other reviews confirm, the food is fresh and delicious (and got better as the week progressed), the views amazing, the staff friendly and helpful, bed cozy... I would stay again, but would buy the yoga or surf package and add on other activities a la carte (you may save money this way - esp if surf is at 6 am and yoga is at 7:30, and you have to skip one or the other even if it is pre-paid).

My time at Costa Dulce was the best vacation I've ever had. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, the grounds and amenities are beautiful, and the surfing, massages, and yoga were excellent. My partner and I particularly loved our surf instructors, Willy and Freddy, who were able to tell us exactly what we needed to know to improve without bombarding us with too much information. They were easily the best surf instructors we’ve had. Something we didn’t know about but were pleased to discover is that all the guests eat at the same time, and while you can eat at your own table, most chose to eat together at a huge harvest table that overlooks the ocean. We met plenty of interesting and friendly travellers and looked forward to sharing great conversations over excellent food with everyone we met. We can’t wait to return again next year!

This review is long overdue cause I stayed here 5 years ago and had an amazing time. First things first- THE FOOD !! Meal after meal I was impressed with the abundance of healthy local ingredients. The staff were polite and helpful 24/7 and the close proximity to amenities made it convenient to walk around the property. The yoga and surf teachers had me inspired on a day to day basis with multiple locations close to where we stayed. We got to learn about and watch baby sea turtles hatch which was a real treat and see them make their way to the ocean. I will definitely be making this an annual trip now ❤️❤️
