I stayed at the Alcazar for 5 nights during the New Years time period in 2 rooms: Pool and Beach view. Both rooms were large, clean and much more boutique-ish than I would have ever expected for a small surf town in Nicaragua. The staff - from Sergio picking me up at the airport to Alfredo and Claudia and Lorna...

First - your expectations have to change being in Nicaragua. That being said..this hotel is extremely overrated. It has the look and feel of a nice hotel, but I wasn't impressed for the price. Pros: Great A/C, good view of the beach (if you have ocean room), close to everything in town, good bed, little pool Cons: the power went...

I wish I read some reviews before booking this hotel, which looked quite ok during the day, but turned into an absolute nightmare at night with some incredibly loud music going on and on all night long in the nightclub in front of the hotel. The noise itself is crazy, but the real problem is that windows and walls are...

Highly recommended. Right in front of the beach and so close to everything. Rooms are fresh and clean, service is amazing. Continental breakfast is fresh and tasty. They really pay attention to small details.

Doubtlessly, this hotel is filled with elegance and local details that make it a unique hotel in front of the beach. The pool and decoration let you get relaxed in comfort. Customer service is so good that makes you feel souranded by people who really cares about your stay not only at the hotel but at the beach town.

My husband and I are staying at the Alcazar for just 1 night before heading back to Canada. We were in San Juan del Sur visiting our son and decided to stay at a hotel for our last night so as not to bother him when we were being picked up by the shuttle at the very early hour of...

The Alcazar is a very nice hotel for a decent price. The hotel offers the standard amenities that Americans have come accustomed to when traveling stateside. Read some reviews and you'll learn that the hotel is across the street from a bar that sits on the beach. Yes, it is loud when the tourists are partying, but I stayed here...

Small, clean, comfortable, and well kept hotel with super friendly service. Good continental breakfast and close to good restaurants. Unfortunately there is a noisy techno disco across the street open from Thursday to Sunday until late night. Stayed for three nights starting on a Sunday so it the noise didn't bother me at all. Spotty wifi however. I recommend this...

We have been here for 1 week. Accommodations are very upscale. Staff are all excellent, Alfredo Castro is outstanding. Try his cocktails, all from scratch and fantastic. Lorna Lopez was excellent in directing us to the perfect restaurant. Claudia was so helpful in helping us adjust to the Nicaraguan culture. All the staff went out of their way to ensure...
