Stayed here for a company retreat and this is supposedly the best hotel in xishuangbanna Booked the villa with private “pool”, which is tiny. The villa itself is also small compared to the ones in bali or phuket. Also lacks the luxury feel. Even till 5pm, they haven’t done room cleaning The breakfast restaurant is ok, again a far cry from 5 star hotels in other places Didn’t visit the main pool or gym, probably disappointed

Luxury? They would need to understand Service first...

Hello, I went there the last week of December 2020. On the paper it looks nice, when you arrive it looks nice, but this is typical Chinese hotel: nice from the outside, but don’t look inside. Large investment done, 5 years old but it already looks like a 20 years old hotel due to poor maintenance. Look at the few pictures I posted from my personal swimming pool (I could say my large bathtub..) and you will understand. Do you expect that level of quality when you pay 350$ a night? But the quality is nothing in regards to the poor quality of service. Breakfast starts at 6.30am, at least officially. I am an early bird as I usually play golf early during my holidays. I had breakfast every morning of the week between 6.45 and 7.00 am. I never ever had any fruit juice, or yogurt, or milk, sometimes I was lucky the fruits were there... there are some personnel, but nothing is setup before at least 7.00 am. Do you expect that in a luxury hotel? And when you ask, they answer the most famous Chinese answer: dengyi’xiar (wait a little bit)... No manager visible, nobody to push the job to be done. Sunday afternoon I decided to go to the main swimming pool as I wanted to swim (impossible in the large personal bathtub). Then at 2.30 pm, Sunday afternoon, it was forbidden to swim. You know why? They were cleaning the swimming pool! Until 3.30 PM! Have you ever been to a luxury hotel that made the cleaning of the swimming pool in the middle of the afternoon? I never saw that until this Wanda hotel! One night I decided to order room service as I was working in my room. I ordered a soup and a meal. They serve me the soup in a pot, but I had no cup or spoon to drink it. I had to drink directly from the pot. Only chopsticks were available. And for the meal I had to pick directly from the meal plate as they didn’t give me any plate to eat. And of course when the dinner was delivered after one hour, all dishes were cold. The final step was my departure. I booked a car at 3.00PM, I came the night before to confirm, I came the morning at 10.00 to double confirm. But when I arrived at 2.55PM, there was no car. And nobody was moving to get one for me, nobody. Simply smiling. I had to shout and then finally they got a car for me at 3.20... So if you are used to be taken care in luxury hotels in south east Asia, please stay there and don’t visit Wanda hotel. They are centuries away from luxury standards. But the big gap is due to a poor management. There is no manager or they are sleeping all day long. If personnel is not managed permanently you will never get a good service in China. So to me the blame is not on the personnel but on the management of that hotel. For sure I will not repeat that once again!…

"Good atmosphere","Good amenities ","Excellent service"

This is by far the best Chinese hotel with good service. Staff is incredible helpful and nice with a very basic English level that makes your life easier. Is still a new hotel, so facilities are still in good shape, however is easy to appreciate some lack of basic maintenance. Would be interesting to see if some rooms are still in good shape by next year. Breakfast is also good, still too Chinese with some western adaptions. I booked a pool with terrace room and it was like a dream. Coming to this hotel is for stay at the hotel and have a magical staying.

A Beautiful Journey for Heart

It was my first time here. Nice enviroment gave me a peace feeling at the fight sight. It was such nice for my whole travel. The room was great, especially the independent swimming pool. The water was clean and air was clean. Like take a wonderful shower of the body as well as the heart. The service was fantanstic, I didn't find anything to complain, no matter the check in or room service. I really appreciate this resort and I believe this journey won't be the last time.
