The Silver Seas is located within walking distance to the underground subway, shopping centres and eateries. However, the hotel is poorly maintained. I stayed in Room 1918 for 2 nights which aircon blew hot air, bath tub's sides had mold, towels had holes, pillows with lumpy cotton. The breakfast on 5th floor restaurant served limited choices and there is no coffee, tea or juice. You have to get your own water from the hot water dispenser.
This hotel is marketed to our group as a 5* but I have stayed in better 2 to 3 star hotels. The only thing good is that the restaurant serves reasonable meals, everything else was terrrible. There is major road works in front so tourist buses & cars are parked all over pavements. An excavator was pecking the ground all night during our stay! Only the PRC local tourists have patience for such a hotel. We were a tour group of 20+ tourists and most of our rooms either short of toilet rolls, facial tissue or other routine things in the room (my kettle does not work and staff don't careless). In my room the bath was rocking when I had a shower and the place is dirty. The kettle and table lamp do not work and neither was the internet connection. When we complained about internet, we were told the staff in charge has gone home! TV in room has lots of unusual connection that we could not get TWO remotes to work. I was pleased we spent only one night in this hotel, never again! By the way, the bathroom is full of condoms and other items for sale to desperate lovers, buy yours from street vendors if you wish to have a good price.…
