I cannot say enough good things about our stay at Nature Inn. It is an excellent choice for a safe, socially distant get-away and we believe it was at an excellent value too. First, the cleaning and sanitizing procedures were clearly spelled out on the website and from what we saw during our stay, they adhered to them completely. All staff were wearing masks and no one entered your room during your stay. You could put out your trash outside your door for collection daily and daily you could ask for additional towels or coffee packs or toilet paper, etc. Those items were left by your door later in the day.
For the included breakfast, you could choose to pick up the individually packaged meals yourself in the lobby or have them delivered to your room at a certain time. We opted for the delivery and the staff member had a mask and gloves on the whole time. We did not choose to purchase lunches or dinners at the Inn but while we were asking a staff member a question we could see from a distance that the staff had masks and gloves on while they were prepping the meals. We felt very safe with the food prep. The quality of the food was great and you had multiple choices for breakfast. Our room did not face the lake and we liked that just fine because it was cooler overall and we had great sounds from the birds on the balcony while we ate our breakfasts.
We hardly saw any other guests during our stay and those that we saw, we were able to stay socially distanced from them. We hiked a number of the trails during our stay and also hardly encountered anyone else on the trails. We felt very safe on the trails. We rented a pontoon boat one day and that was also a very positive and fun experience. Totally worth the money! Fishing gear not available this summer however.
The beach at the Park was crowded, but families were staying with their own groups and they set up their beach towels or tents well apart from others. We found an area to swim where it wasn't too crowded. There is no life guard even in the roped off area so you shouldn't be bound by swimming only there.
Beware that 2 out of the 3 local restaurants we visited did not enforce mask wearing by customers or their own staff. It made us appreciate the care the staff at the Inn showed to us by wearing masks and following protocol. Thank you Nature Inn for a terrific get-away. We felt safe and we will be back again!

Our stay at the Nature Inn was a perfect respite in troubled times! This beautiful Inn is located in Bald Eagle State Park which affords a multiple opportunities for walking, boating, swimming, reading on the beach, and enjoying the wild life in the park. The Inn has excellent views of the beautiful lake in the park. The rooms were rustic and comfortable. The staff was exempliary and our whole stay was designed to provide for guests safety and enjoyment during the pandemic. No touch check in,breakfast ordered the night before with pick up or delivery. We enjoyed ours outside on the patios. You can purchase box lunches. We took one on the Pontoon Boat we rented on the lake and enjoyed taking the rest to one of the pavilions located throughout the park. They offer dinners that you can grill yourself on the large clean gas grills located on a beautiful deck. All of the meals were really delicious and far above our expectations. The Inn was well maintained and very clean, and so beautiful. We were so happy to get away to such a peaceful and beautiful environment. One of our favorite memories is sitting on our deck in the evening watching the sun disappear over the mountain and listening to the sound of the owls. Enjoyed the fire pit as well.

We have stayed at Nature Inn several times before, and it was always excellent. So, wanting a quick anniversary getaway, I checked for rooms online, and booked our favorite, the Woodcock basic suite. Everything I read on the website assured me that all COVID protocols were being scrupulously followed, so we felt safe going.
Once there, we were especially pleased to find that takeout dinners are now available if preordered, and breakfast is takeout as well. We were there on a Friday, so we took advantage of pizza night, which included a large pizza, two salads, two slices of caramel cheesecake, and two beverages for $39. Sure beats trying to find somewhere in the vicinity to eat. Plus, PA restaurants had just closed again until after the new year, so this was super convenient. And the food was great, as always.
Everything at the inn was spotless, and cleaning supplies are readily available for anything you might need to wipe yourself. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and the surroundings are gorgeous. Thanks, Nature Inn. We'll be back again soon.

The lodge is a shining star in the cap of the PA park system. We were fortunate to find space at the last minute, especially with a beautiful view. Crisp, organic design and materials including linens, in a spotless environment - ( critical in this C-19 consciousness) made the room a genuine refuge, far removed from the chaos of the times. Even the information notebook In the room reflected care & attention to detail.

People make the difference & from my initial phone call to a follow up call, Coty Wolfe was spirited, professional, knowledgable, and always engaged. Breakfast was awesome and lavish, especially when one considers the requisite “box breakfast” circumstances. Follow up revealed that the innkeeper Charlie and key employee Wendy showed adaptability and great willingness to do whatever was required to make our visit positive, including cooking and clean up. Teamwork and devotion from the entire staff make this a very special place and worth a must do destination tag in your PA travels. [ PS: the beautiful setting & the extraordinarily lively bird community are the both the foundation and the extra specialness of this site. ]

This is the perfect place to get away from the rest of the world for a few days.
We had a small suite, which was very spacious, that overlooked the lake. The small balcony was just the right size for 2 people. If it matters to you, the tv in the room is in the living area, not in the bedroom. Our small suite was set up to also be handicap accessible.
All employees were very helpful and friendly. Everything was very clean and wearing face masks in indoor public areas was required. There’s a library on the 2nd floor which has books on nature/conservation, many DVDs, puzzles, and games to borrow.
Due to COVID breakfast was served in takeout containers at a time you requested. It was tasty and hot, much better than some takeout we’ve had over the past 6 months.
You will spend a lot of time outdoors, whether it’s hiking, boating, swimming, fishing, or relaxing with a good book. Take advantage of it!

There is one helpful hint-if smoke bothers you and you like to open windows, it may be best to book a room on the non-lake side. Depending on wind direction, lake view rooms might get smoke from the grills and/or fire pit.

We had visited The Nature Inn several years ago and had been wanting to go back. It was good back then but was even better now! The staff had been well trained for reopening and their attitudes were incredible. We took advantage of the new grill-your-own dinner packages and thoroughly enjoyed both the ribs and the salmon dinners. Everything was ready to go on one of the large gas grills and came with easy step by step instructions. We ate at 7 so the grills were pretty available, but even when another family was waiting, everyone was patient and enjoyed social distancing on the lovely patio. Breakfast could either be picked up or delivered to your room. We chose to have our morning meals delivered and they arrived hot and on time.
Housekeeping was limited because of Covid 19, but the staff made sure you had easy ways to get what you needed (i.e. extra towels or supplies) and always said "make sure you let us know if you need anything else."
We hiked, found a spot near the lake to read, rented a canoe for a few hours and otherwise enjoyed our patio at The Inn. A wonderful mini vacation during uncertain times!

Tucked away in the state park this “green” inn is a great spot to relax. We were only staying one night but I’d like to visit again for longer. Our room was clean & spacious. Double bedroom with 1 bathroom. We had 6 people. My hubs & I. My boys & our inlaws. We each got a room & kids got the pull out couch. All employees and guests were required to wear a mask to & from room. They had pre prepared dinners that we wanted to take advantage of but you had to order the day before and we never got the email. That was frustrating after driving all day we had to go back out & nothing is very close by. Wifi & regular phone signal is very spotty. Don’t expect to use it. They had a little firepit area, a reading area, etc. breakfast was ordered night before & brought to our rooms the next morning. Big breakfast with lots of goodies. Bed was comfy but pillows were tiny & too squishy. No TV in bedrooms if you need them to get to sleep. Nice big kitchen area. It’s right on the lake so bring a bathing suit to visit the beach!

I had the most amazing stay. I was driving from NY to Michigan by myself and saw this gorgeous property online. The website, photos, and videos immediately caught my eye so I decided to just stop and take a look. As soon as you drive in, you drive through Bald Eagle State Park which already sells the property and proves how gorgeous this area is.

I asked about room availability and Cody (the Innkeeper) immediately got me the best room, helped me route my hiking, and placed an order for my BBQ dinner. Cody was more than accommodating and made sure that I had the best stay possible. He placed my meal order, he helped me grill my food, he lit a bon fire, and had some hilarious stories to share!

I was solo but met other travelers who were equally as satisfied with their stay. The next morning I woke up early and took my complimentary breakfast to a picnic bench on the camp grounds and ate on the beach. I ended my trip with a 30 minute jet ski rental that you can get at the marina and had the BEST time.

I cannot express how truly gorgeous this property is - rain/shine you will have an unforgettable experience! I only stayed for one night but I would recommend doing at least 3 as there is SO much to see and do. I will definitely be back and highly recommend!

It was great to be free! We were out in the park's clean, fresh air; and when we were in the inn, we felt safe. The staff were constantly sanitizing and materials were readily available for guests to sanitize. The staff was friendly and the included breakfast was delicious.

We cancelled our 12th Anniversary trip to New England for obvious reasons, and decided to stay within Pennsylvania instead. The first 3 nights of our trip were spent at The Nature Inn. We couldn't have made a better decision. The Inn itself is breathtaking, from the design of the Inn, to the jaw-dropping views from the patio, to the beautiful trails and lake in Bald Eagle.

Having only 16 rooms is a bonus in this day and age of "smaller and farther apart is better". Kudos to the staff and all visitors for making us feel safe and always adhering to policies. The amenities replenishment and breakfast ordering were well-thought out.

The modified breakfast was a fantastic bonus, to be honest. If only I had been able to have biscuits more than one day! :) Later in the week, we stayed in Tioga county and were sad we hadn't been able to stay at The Nature Inn instead.

We had a very lovely anniversary dinner at The Hublersburg Inn, for which we were able to get discount when we checked in.

All in all, one of our best anniversaries ever (and that includes a cruise we took for our 1st one!)

I would just call the office. They are really nice and extremely helpful over the phone. They will give you suggestions for the best rooms and such. I know they shut down the Inn for weddings. So if there is a wedding booked for a certain weekend, they will have all the rooms booked for that time. I imagine July is a busy time for them.
