The land owners are a peculiar pair, but surprisingly know what they are doing. They woke my and my friends up at 7:30 a.m. and invited us to the all beets and goat jerky breakfast and after a nice hay ride and table making class the head owner had to leave to go to his other job and left his mentally unstable "cousin" to tend to our needs. He did fine until he tried to shave me with a rusty razor that looked quite old. But the 2 day stay was happily ended with a forced Battle Star Galactica showing and more beets. I recomend you come here, but have a tetnis shot before hand.
We went there from work as part of a team building day-trip. Dwight and Mose were very helpful. We even had a complimentary exotic meats platter! The service was 5-star, with an over-eager valet. On a related note, the car seemed to have strange footprints on its roof when we got it back! I will definitely recommend Shrute Farms to anyone who doesn't mind getting their hands and their car a bit dirty!
Wake up at 4:17a.m sharp to experience the goat milk that was freshly squeezed coupled with Beet Pancakes, courtesy of Herr Schrute. He has a special safe for your blowguns and a crossbow/paintball range where you can use Mose for target practice. Be sure to ask for your bedtime story. We were read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The real live ghosts backdrop to add the ambiance to the freshly laid manure that you were priviledge to lay out. The outhouse is plastered with Battlestar Gallitica posters. Don't use it for toilet paper, as that is what the corn husks are for. Otherwise, a place that takes you back to la la land.
The food and entertainment were top notch (proprietor Mos and a deranged mental patient named Dwight performed an exquisite rendition of Lady Windermere's Fan and the beet pie was amazing). But, I didn't feel I was announced loudly enough to bestow the proper amount of honor on the guests during the daily garden party. Also, I think my wife got scabies from the bed.
Dwight and Mose were very accommodating. I'll be returning each October!
