My room didn't seem that clean, there were stains on the chair, the lamps weren't plugged in and I had the worst shower of my life at the Hotel Wayne. The shower started off okay, then got extremely hot, then extremely cold, then stopped altogether and proceeded to come back in hot and cold bursts. It's funky and supposed to... More

We were attending a play in nearby Hawley Pa. All of the hotels in and around Hawley were booked. Passed the Hotel Wayne several time and found that they had a room available. We booked our room for $160 on Hotels.com. Upon arrival we were greeted by the G.M. of the hotel at the little check in window. It was... More

Thanks very much for your very explanative review. The Hotel Wayne is truly a historic hotel in continuous operation since it was built in 1827. We try hard to maintain the true historic character of this hotel which was built to house travelers on horseback and carriages. And yet we offer all amenities of a modern one and provide a... More

I didn't stay here but treated myself to dinner after a long weekend of camping nearby. Atmosphere was nice and historic ... A really neat building. Food was tasty I had the sirloin burger and my waitress Jillian was delightful. I have never stayed here but honestly I would like to as a history person. I would recommend eating here... More

While staying at the Wayne Inn we asked the staff where to have a nice dinner and they told us about the Hotel Wayne. Got a table in the bar area which was fun and lively. One of the specials that night was lamb. Once I see lamb on the menu there is nothing else to look at. It was... More

Nice quaint , owners were slightly overwhelming, by sight and smell. Perfume was too much and only were introduced to a few select guests. We would prefer owners stay away or introduce themselves to all guests. Hotel was dusty and old but charming at the same time.

We are very appreciative that you appreciated our efforts to maintain the Hotel Wayne in its historic character. We have found over our 30 years of ownership that many of our guests simply do not like to be bothered by us coming to their table and interrupting their dinner. So we usually just greet the people we know. However, should... More

We stayed there for a night while doing camp pick ups/drop offs for our kids. It's a lovely, historic place. The bar and restaurant were wonderful. Rooms are small and very simple but clean and comfortable. It poured the entire day we were there so we missed out on walking around town but the bar was a great place to... More

Thanks very much for your nice review. We really strive hard to maintain the historic character of our historic Hotel Wayne yet provide modern amenities. It is too bad that the rain stopped you from enjoying exploring our lovely borough of Honesdale. Thanks for being a customer of the Hotel Wayne More

While the staff were very nice, the hotel itself was vile. In the room, the ceiling had a huge leak and lots of mold, there were bloodstains and insect parts smashed on the walls, the furniture was stained, the AC deafening, and the stench of mercaptan (from natural gas, I'm hoping, instead of something dead and rotting) was very strong.... O.K., this 1870's hotel has no elevator, pool or full breakfast, but it has a full-service bar and restaurant on the first floor and a charm my younger family members didn't appreciate as much as I did. The window A.C.'s did their job, the beds were plenty comfy, hi-fi worked well and hot water was hot and plentiful. The staff... More

Thanks very much for your review. The Hotel Wayne was built in 1827 and has been in continuous operation since then. Since it is a registered historic property, it is simply impossible to add an elevator but we will gladly carry our guests' bags to their room. Thanks for being a customer of the Hotel Wayne More

We have stayed in Historic Hotels/B&B's, etc. and enjoyed them. NOT here! This is A PIT! HORRIBLE! The carpeting is filthy (my wife kept her shoes on even in the room!--and she likes camping). The shower was tiny (like a cruise ship's). During each shower the water went from okay to scalding hot to ice cold to quit completely without... More

This building is old and has character. The floors are sloping, door frames are not square from the building settling. I still enjoyed staying here because I like historic buildings. I just pray it doesn't collapse when I'm in it. The price reasonable , rooms are plain. Don't expect luxury.

Thanks very much for your candid review. The Hotel was built in 1827 and has survived very well since then....not too much chance of it falling down, The reason that the floors and door frames are a little crooked is that wood shrinks over time(lots of time), not the building settling. If you would happen to be our guest again,... More
