We like the Hershey Lodge! It's definitely an older place but really quaint. Our room was clean and quiet. The place is a bit of a maze but if you pay attention to the signage its quite navigable. The front desk staff is hit or miss - some of them are good, some not so good. We did not appreciate the fact that there are no luggage carts for customer use - we were told that if we needed a cart we would have to work with a bell-person. This is code for "we make sure the guy gets tips" and "you are going to wait a long time to get your stuff", neither of which sit well with me. Also - since we were exhibiting at a trade show, all of our stuff was in the parking lot near the ballroom and we were told that they would "find the guy and send him back there" which sounded like code for "it will take a REALLY long time". Frustrating. We finally manually hauled our own stuff which was unpleasant. We ate at two restaurants - the Bear's Den and Fire and Grain - both were on the mark for what their menus promised. The Bear's Den is bar food but well-prepared and tasty...Fire And Grain is a bit more upscale and also good. The only complaint would be that there is no fast food convenient to the Lodge (they have an onsite "grab and go" with very limited offerings). Other than these things - the Lodge is a decent place to stay albeit a bit pricey compared to other Hershey area lodging.

Perfect winter getaway for a toddler and a baby! The rooms were plenty roomy, the restaurants were delicious and lots of activities on site. The gift shop is well stocked. We are loving our quick winter getaway with the kids. Perfect spot for a family to come!

I am here at Hershey Lodge with my family of 5 and our experience has been anything but the “sweetest place on earth.” 1. We were at the park on Sat, 9/24 and the understaffing was a huge issue. The long lines could have been avoided if there were more staff. Staff were alternating between adjacent rides. If you are having a special event (fright event) you should have been prepared for it. 2. I made reservations for 5 ppl. I was given a room that sleeps 4. What am I supposed to do with the 5th person? If I legitimately make reservation for 5, then at the very least, I should be provided w a rollaway or sofa sleeper. I was told that there are fire codes, but that’s not my problem. That’s something for you to figure out. 3. The rooms are outdated and bathrooms are gross. 4. I’m sitting at the fire and grain restaurant at the lodge and it took forever to get our table despite the fact that there are so many tables open. Again, a staffing issue. The parking lot is packed so there should be enough staff to accommodate a full load of guests. Our stay here (2nights and 3 days) was not cheap, and our expectations were not met.

Angela Johnston was awesome! She checked us in and gave us a ton of helpful information. As we sat for a drink in the lobby a couple hours later she stopped to ask how our room was and see if we had had a nice dinner! She went above and beyond to be helpful and caring. Room was large, clean and updated. Stopped passing through so did not use any amenities.

We stayed at the Hershey Lodge during our vacation to Hersheypark. I liked the package they had which included 2 day tickets to Hersheypark, tickets to Hershey Gardens and tickets to Hershey Story Museum. My young children loved the first two but were bored at the museum. I enjoyed the museum up until my daughter started having a tantrum to leave. Back to the lodge -> indoor water park (small but kept the kids happy and busy), Fire & Grain - long wait times and pricey food, Bear’s Den - good buffet but get there early because it fills quickly, also pricey, Rooms - we were in the Reese’s building. It was close to the indoor pool but felt like a mile away from the lobby. I wish the room was bigger and had more light and a window that opened. It felt stuffy and would have been nice to air out.

Our stay at the lodge was very nice. Our room was very nice. We had the package so our breakfast was included. We are at the Fire and Grain, it was a buffet style breakfast, everything was delicious. Was nice to be able to take a shuttle to the park

We have been staying at the Lodge for years. We stayed recently and the location of our room left us extremely disappointed. I'm not sure there could be a worse location for a room. We were in the 2200s, near the conference rooms, next to the kitchen and the ice machine. Kids running up and down the hall and screaming; adults speaking very loudly. I thought there used to be quiet sleeping signs, but perhaps it would be helpful to remind people to lower their voices in the hallways as the rooms are definitely not sound proof. To top it off, our window was facing the dining terrace for Revelry along with the noice and lack of privacy associated with that. We kept our curtains closed. We were thankful we were only there for one night, or we would have asked to switch room. For almost $500 it would have been great to have a good night's sleep.

Hello stephaniedl15! Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Hershey Lodge. I sincerely apologize for the disappointment with the location of your room. The inconveniences you have encountered certainly does not reflect the superior service we strive to provide our guests with. I sincerely hope the time will come that you will reconsider and decide to return to the Lodge. Should this occur, I have every confidence that your stay will be a most satisfactory one. The staff is usually nice, sometimes one or 2 people are not so great but hey that's everywhere. Many people say is expensive but is all worth it!!! This is definitely the sweetest place on earth!!!

I wanted to love it. Visited with my 2 kids (age 4 and 6) and seemed great on paper. Including taxes the room cost us $500 per night so i consider it a pricey booking - no where near worth it. First of all, on the very positive side: the hotel restaurants are great with food allergies. We ate at Fire & Grain for dinner both nights and the kids had the best meals of their lives. The chef came out and made me feel very comfortable. Prior to our visit, we had emailed with the hotel and received very prompt emails which answered all of my allergy questions. If this review was for restaurants and food allergies it would be 5 out of 5 experience. Hotel shuttle was also very convenient except they were poorly equipped to handle strollers. I brought a stroller and lined up at 8.30am with many other families. First shuttle was 9am and we surely thought we’d get on the first one or 2nd one. Seemed like each shuttle could only handle 2-3 strollers as I got sent to the 4th overflow shuttle due to having a stroller even though I was very early in the line. That was a bit annoying, but we still did get there way before the park opening. Unfortunately my praise ends there. The hotel is run down and extremely understaffed. Our 2 queen room was basically a motel room that smelled of mildew and was close to a set of mechanically accessible double doors that would grind all day and night as people pressed the access button. I killed 3 mosquitos in the bathroom and saw a few gnats in the sink. The wallpaper was peeling and I couldn’t get a hold of Housekeeping to get another tissue box or extra towels. After texting and calling with zero response (exactly following the housekeeping instructions I was presented with at check-in) I finally went to the car and got my tissue box from the car and used the towels I brought for the waterpark as bath towels. Couldn’t believe I paid $500 a night for this lack of service. We spent a lot of time and money at the arcade. At least 3 of the games were in “error” mode and yet no one marked it as such so we couldn’t report it or get our money back on those swipes. We never saw an employee at the arcade and no one at the front desk ever picked up the phone and the line was also ridiculously long. Overall very disappointing. The hotel rooms need major renovation. Will not be staying here again.

It's a good hotel probably one of the best in the area. Very pricey and for what you get the price just goes up with the restaurants in house. The breakfast buffet staff is severely lacking probably due to the laize faire manager. He's way UNDER staffed, doesn't help with bussing tables, doesn't train his staff nor does he watch them to make sure they're doing their jobs. One person sneezed in to the silver ware before rolling it up. Another took five minutes to bus one table. Another tried to charge us full adult prices for my 10 and 11 year olds, didn't even ask me their age. The BEAR was was not much better. The staff is completely disengaged.
