I can not say enough wonderful things about all the Woodloch Properties! This adult only retreat is beyond amazing. My husband agreed to come this time (the last time I went with another mother.) Both experiences were spectacular. The staff at Woodloch is so friendly, efficient and caring, that you just feel like you are the only client the hotel has. They remember your names. I remember no one's name! They go out of their way - another couple joined us and were running late, so the valet took them in a golf cart to hatchet throwing. The hikes were spectacular and run by super capable individuals that could tell you how to make various teas from the ferns, etc, as well as other stories and folklore! You can walk five miles and not even know it! The art classes are my favorite. You get to the class and see it all set up for you - blank canvas or paper and all the paints, pencils or whatever. You feel that - uh oh - can I do this? Then an hour or two later you really have something you want to frame! Then you have the delicious cuisine and mixology. All included and all just sinful! To end your day - the room is beyond comfortable too! This is a vacation you deserve! I can't wait to go again!!!

If you have the means, don't hesitate, just go. My spouse and I spent 5 nights at the Lodge to relax and unwind after a stressful time in our lives. We have never been able to relax so deeply as we had over the past week. We didn't have to think about ANYTHING at all during our stay; it was all provided for us. From the moment you get on the grounds, the staff truly have you covered. As soon as you pull up, guest services takes your bags and your keys and valet parks you. You are greeted with a day bag and a reusable water bottle for use until your room is ready, if you arrive early. No transportation needed until the end of your stay, because it is all inside. Having the 20% gratuity rolled into your costs really allows you to relax and not have to worry about a thing. The dining menu repeated every other day during our stay but the options were diverse and there were always interesting specials for lunch entrees, dinner entrees, and dinner apps. Anecdotes of why this resort experience is so outstanding: * Resort partners with conservation nonprofits to help sustain the land near which it is situated. Resort employs experienced, educated farmers who grow crops on site which you eat at the restaurant. Direct quote from Sam, the farm is "beyond organic" with the most current sustainable (and more importantly, *regenerative*) agricultural practices out there. * If you have activities competing with meal times, you can place your order in advance and pick it up at a specified time. For instance, lunch ends at 2 and you could pick up your lunch in a takeout bag at 2:15 because they will make your meal last before the kitchen closes. We knew we would not make it to the restaurant in time for lunch one day and asked for pickup. We ended up being a bit earlier than planned. Once the staff realized we planned to eat our takeout meal in the lounge next door, they delivered us our first two courses and then brought out the rest of the meal once it was prepared. What service! * As others have noted, the staff record your reasons for celebrating and seem to update it in live time on their system. All the staff know and chat with you about your reason for visiting. * 80% of the instructors for the activities we engaged in were absolutely exceptional experts, top of their game. The other 20% of instructors were above average. Both my husband and I are bright, educated people with different minds working in separate disciplines and we both learned things from the classes we took. * Some class offerings were out of the norm, which is exactly why I chose this resort. I had lots of fun trying out pool pole dancing and spritz painting a silk scarf. My husband tried out hatchet throwing. We both learned how to do self-deep tissue massages. We had a small group wine pairing lesson with a sommelier for only $30 per person (5 wines, generous pours, plus phenomenal cheese and chocolate). Just being able to walk down the hall and do this without taking out my credit card or weighing whether it was worth the cost was so amazing. * There are lots of deer on the property at Woodloch and since they live near the resort grounds they are socialized to not be afraid of people. My husband and I were approached by deer on two separate occasions. As I was sitting on the veranda, a deer just came sauntering by. I was able to get the closest to a deer that I ever had in my whole life. We were maybe a foot away, at eye level, watching it chomp happily, and watched it for several minutes. This was honestly a life highlight moment that I didn't expect at all going into this vacation. As a couple, the cost for us was about $500 per person per night. That not only includes the beautiful, ultra-clean room with the softest mattress I have ever slept on, but three gourmet meals with a wide assortment of specialty nonalcoholic beverages included. Both lunch and dinner are four courses. There is a tea room with unlimited access to organic teas and coffee all day long. The restaurant puts out grab 'n' go snacks between lunch and dinner. All rooms have a covered veranda with a stunning overlook. Let's not forget the unlimited access to all the activities and gym and pool, plus the luxe, award-winning spa down the hall. Also, there's no shortage of places to just sit and relax at the resort, both inside and outside, to be alone or to people-watch or to socialize. Rumi said, "Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself." I truly felt like I honored myself during this vacation by filling myself with lots of healthy food, relaxation, movement, and stimulating, creative activities. Anyone who takes advantage of all this resort has to offer will go back out into the world a better person than when they walked in. I can't say the same about other trips I have taken. The staff spoke well of their pay and benefits here. Speaking with the farmer and seeing the grounds made me feel awe at the sustainable system which the resort nurtures and its commitment to partnering with nature for nature's sake. There's a values alignment for me which transcends a typical consumer transaction and makes me happy to support the business. This works out well because the guest experience at the Lodge is nothing short of phenomenal. TLDR, The Lodge at Woodloch is a business I am proud to support and it offers an experience I will whole-heartedly recommend.

Our first time and it won’t be the last. Loved the fact that we didn’t have to worry about one thing once we arrived … items with an extra charge were clearly noted. Great variety of included activities. Glad we signed up early before arrival to get into the activities and the dinner times we wanted. The Spa and exercise studios are exceptional. Loved the TRX class with Amber, gel press printing with Debbie, kayaking and hatchet throwing with Dakota, cooking demonstration with the Chef team including a holistic nutritionist and all the fresh farm to table foods in the dining room or packed to go if requested. Unfortunately the weather prevented us from enjoying the Farm to Table lunch at the Blackmore Farm … we’ll just have to come back and experience the every changing food and events. With all the things to do, we weren’t in the room much but the room was very comfortable with in-room slippers and luxurious robes, a nice private walk-out patio and a rain drop walk-in shower. All staff were very welcoming with a friendly hello from everyone we bumped into. We heard many times how employees were very happy to work at Woodloch as demonstrated by how many long time employees we met there. We will be back to Hawley to enjoy this special destination resort. Thank you for an awesome 3 days.

I can't say enough good about this place. I had planned to go to Europe for my 50th birthday party but with Covid, we decided not to fly anywhere and my husband found this place. I have been to Kripalu many times but after coming here, I don't think I will go anywhere else. In addition to being immaculately clean and very comfortable with EVERY imaginable amenity, the booking and check-in are VERY easy. The staff are friendly and helpful like nowhere else (except maybe the Ritz- its THAT kind of service). The spa is AMAZING and even if you don't book a service, you can use the pool, whirlpool, sauna. Whatever you want to do as physical activity is there- kayaking, biking, hiking, hatchet throwing, archery, yoga, TRX, rowing, etc etc. There are also lots of great meditative classes- the gong chi was really relaxing as was the gentle yoga, etc. And if that wasn't enough- I would come here JUST FOR THE FOOD. Its a farm-to-table restaurant with most grown right on property (or nearby farms) and farmer Sam is so cool to talk to- go to his farm/ orchard/ apiary and he will talk your ear off (in a good way). And the cooking demos are like Master Classes. And don't forget the wine tastings. I didn't miss Europe AT ALL (ok, maybe a little) but this was definitely not a dissapointment, We will definitely be back.
