My husband and I both work in healthcare and we have been working non-stop through COVID. Our original September vacation had to be cancelled and we were desperate for some downtime. I am so happy that I came across the Lodge at Woodloch! From the moment we entered until checkout, we felt very comfortable with all of the cleaning and precautions at the resort. Our room faced the waterfall and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the family of deer graze right outside our patio morning and night. The food at the resort was very good. While the portions appear to be small, by the time we were done all the courses we were more than full! I am gluten intolerant and it was so nice to have lots of options to choose from each day without having to constantly make special requests. It was such a treat. The highlight of the trip was definitely the spa services we received. We each got a 75 minute massage and also tried the float pod. The entire spa area is so nice and we spent a good bit of time in the pool and hot tub area, in the steam room, and relaxing on the sun porch. Every bit of the resort we saw was beautiful and we didn't even make it to half of the grounds. We took the no cell phone use in public areas one step further and just left our phones in the room. It forced us to unplug, unwind, and not constantly check in on the office or social media. We took some classes we never would have tried otherwise and really enjoyed all of our activities. A few of the classes we were the only two in the class and enjoyed our "private" sessions! We will definitely be back again. Highly recommended peaceful getaway.…
From the incredible staff and service, the variety of activities available, the many locations to just relax and reflect, and the amazing food, The Lodge at Woodloch tops my list of places to return too. Anyone looking for a reset to life or just needing some time away to relax should seriously consider spending time here. I can't wait to go back!
The Lodge at Woodloch is amazing! My husband and I just returned from a three day visit. The people working at the lodge at super friendly and knowledgeable. There is a large variety of activities, both indoors and outdoors. If you get a chance to take an art class with Christopher, make sure to sign up! I loved the ZenDoodle class. We also had a couples massage which was amazing! Everyone at Woodloch is wonderful. You can't go wrong with a visit to The Lodge. We can't wait to visit again!
This was THE BEST stay we have ever had, anywhere to date. Every single person we encountered, anywhere on the grounds were genuinely warm, welcoming, friendly and so knowledgeable we were truly amazed how they really made our first time there such a fabulous experience. The food was fresh and beautifully presented, and abundant enough for my husband who eats a lot. All spa services we had performed by skilled technicians, the grounds were gorgeous... honestly the one negative... leaving. We will be back for certain. Lastly, all precautions taken regarding COVID made us feel safe and relaxed. I love this place.
I travel a lot and enjoy two types of destination spas - athletic and relaxing. This was by far the most relaxing and rejuvenating spa destination (yes, it beats Lake Austin) and offered enough athletic options to be a choice for that... but I didn't do a single athletic class - there were simply too many other wonderful experiences to try. Let me break this down: SPA - top notch. great massages and pedicure (no facials due to Covid). I had two body scrubs and two massages and a pedicure - all four were excellent. The facilities were spacious, clean, with individual shower rooms fully stocked, beautiful sauna, pool, and steam room... lots of lockers, seating, tea, snacks, fully staffed. They were on top of cleanliness and had working covid management policies that somehow didn't distract at all from my experience. FOOD - gourmet and all included in the price. You will gain 5 pounds happily if you want to :) They source many of their veges from the on property working farm, and you can tell its that fresh. I tried a number of new things, but they also had fresh spins on the classics, like grilled trout, pork chops (wow! one of the best chops I have ever had), new york strip, and the humble tuna fish sandwich. Try the grilled radish appetizer and the tuna tar tar appetizer. TO DIE FOR. Desserts? really good and sized appropriately. You do have to purchase wine or other drinks... wines were limited, but top selections from their on site wine expert (take her wine tasting class - highly recommended). dinner has live music. plan on an hour for each meal and longer for dinner if you want to linger over coffees - although breakfast and lunch were more along the lines of 45 minutes (depending on your order). You can also purchase special lattes, but coffee, capps, regular lattes etc all were part of the package. If you love bread, you will love dinner here that much more... gouda rolls, rosemary french bread... and on and on. Five pounds? maybe 10 :) ACTIVITIES - several on site hiking trails ranging from 1/2 mile to 4 miles (the 3 mile loop done as a figure 8). Hatchet throwing, archery, primitive fire making, garden tours and education, honey bee classes, kayaking, mountain biking, bird watching, and herbs / weeds you can eat are just some of the activities I tried. They have a number of different yoga classes which others raved about, but I preferred to try some of the more unique offerings. full and roomy gym, options for personal training, spot muscle conditioning, etc. I also tried some of the more spiritual classes they offered - chakras (really relaxing), meditation and pendulums. I didn't sign up for the painting or other art courses due to limited luggage space, but wish I had - I watched a few and they were really great. always a way to roast a smore on a fire and plenty of hammocks and quiet nooks to sit and just bathe in the forest. Deer were everywhere, wild turkeys, good fishing, and lots of small critters. ROOM - I had room 103, which I recommend. you can sit on the balcony and listen to the live music on the back patio on thursday - sunday nights but still have complete privacy from those sitting outside on the actual patio... and if you close the door, you can't hear any noise from outside. so nice. Rooms had dual sinks, lots of amenities, plenty of room. In room safe, shower with two heads (one a rain head). immediate response on any request for towels or razors, etc. Comfy king size bed, rocking chair and lounge chair, plenty of tv channels (although I didn't watch any tv for 5 of my 6 days there!!) Screened windows so you can have fresh air without the bugs. What really made this the top of all other spa experiences was the staff. It was obvious that the staff is treated like family, and so they treated each and every guest that way. they all wore their masks, they all followed covid protocols, they were very diligent, but without interfering in how they worked with the guests. i didn't meet any staff member who wasn't sincerely nice and happy. just blew me away, even when they had to deal with some guests who were, shall we say, picky? spoiled? never once did I witness a staff member do anything but help and smile and lift the spirits of whomever they were dealing with. Hats off to the owners, and this team!!…
