We have stayed at the settlers Inn many times and visited ledges to eat and check the place out. This was our first time staying here and def not the last. All of the staff were excellent and servers but barbara at the front desk and Kaylee, our waitress at dinner need to be mentioned. The food and cocktails were both perfect as was our view if the falls for dinner. We sat at my favorite table and enjoyed dinner. Special shout out the the servers for their hard work walikg up and down those stairs to make sure we and the other guests had everything we needed. Rooms are very nice, not huge but big beds and clean. We will definitely be back in the future.

We stayed at The Ledges hotel for the night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My husband had booked this as a surprise and got the nicest room they had. My husband had mentioned to them that we were celebrating our anniversary and they said they would make a note of it. We drove 2 hours and check in was not until 3 pm which is understandable. We finally checked in and got to our room. Room wasn’t what my husband expected at all, no acknowledgment that it was our anniversary. We opened our fridge to chill stuff and found old salads from previous guest which was already giving the room an odor which we didn’t realize where it was coming from. Second, we go get the ironing board to iron our clothes and the cover was horrible and needed to be changed. We go upstairs to look at our bed and it looked like our bed was made in a rush. My husband also asked for a bath tub and we got a shower and the ceiling light in the shower didn’t work. We said something to the lady at the desk about the food but didn’t mention anything else as we were there for the night. The lady at the desk did apologize about the left food and removed it which was great. My husband spent a night amount of money to make sure this was a perfect night and it truly wasn’t a good experience at all. We loved the view of the waterfall and the nature but will not want to return to the hotel.

We cancelled numerous trips this summer due to the pandemic. Just a few weeks before our scheduled time off we were able to book a 2-bedroom suite at Ledges Hotel. We were impressed with their attention to cleanliness, social distancing and masks. The kitchenette/LR/bedrooms were very nice and suited our family (with two teenagers) well. One of our favorite parts about Ledges was the location with numerous outdoor spaces to enjoy the beauty of the waterfalls. And the restaurant...we ate there on the deck our last two nights and loved each dish we tried. It is closed Monday’s and Tuesdays (otherwise we may have eaten there every night). Truly, the food at the restaurant was worth our seven hour trip alone. The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts at Cocoon were great quality too. We enjoyed paddle boarding at Silver Birches. Breakfasts and lake activities were included and a nice bonus to our package. Overall we had a wonderful midweek getaway and highly recommend Ledges Hotel.

Reserved a room Monday-Friday to take advantage of the weekday package. Had to make the reservation over the phone to get the promotional rate, which was fine and explained that we would want the larger room for a rollaway bed. After the call, I didn’t receive a confirmation email.. I called a few days later asking for the confirmation email which had to be re-sent due to “technical difficulties”. Didn’t think it was a big deal, and tried to stay positive that it was an honest mistake. We get here Monday to check in, and The room we’re taken to is a contemporary 2 even though we reserved the 3 and our receipt signed at check in stated we reserved the contemporary 3. The woman at the desk said there was a mistake made during reservation and then brought us to the contemporary 3 room. She then asks “you’re only here for tonight right?” To which we replied that no, we were staying until Friday, so she brought us back across the hall to the contemporary 2 and said she’d see what she could do... she comes back and Offers for us to move to the settlers inn for a larger room stating they had no larger rooms available at the Ledges hotel. We went to settlers inn to look and it’s much less modern and doesn’t have the view ledges like ledges does.. We decided to take the small room at the ledges and that Mom could have the bed and I would sleep on the floor. Ledges did eventually get us an air mattress which worked well. Then the next night the AC in our room quit working, when brought to the front desks attention, she implied it was our fault for setting the temperature too low and stated “someone must not have read the instructions and set the temp below 68”. Our room was never below 68, but there was also no signage anywhere stating not to put the temperature any lower. They offered us a fan for the night.. and then said they could move us to another room for the night, but we would have to come back to this room the next day because it wasn’t available for multiple nights. Since the inconvenience of moving rooms wasn’t worth it for one nights sleep, we stayed in our room trying to compromise and stay positive. The final straw of the trip was we came back to our room for a quick nap before dinner on Thursday, and for an entire hour it sounded like people were just running up and down the hallway. Even at night you could easily hear everything happening on the back patio (which our window directly faced and had to be closed the entire time) or in the neighboring rooms. There was no sound proofing between rooms, and we decided we were done making excuses for this place and trying to make it work. We checked out Thursday afternoon instead of Friday and told the front desk woman and the manager how disappointed we were. We tried very hard to make the situation work from the start and repeatedly were let down throughout the trip. On top of the issues stated above, our room had huge cobwebs in it (see photo), I saw no sanitation of common spaces. They had board games in the lobby which weren’t sanitized between players. Really, other than a bottle of hand sanitizer at the front desk, I don't believe any extra precautions were taken for COVID prevention. I didn’t feel like an appreciated guest, or safe, or comfortable, or relaxed... very very disappointed and embarrassed that I took my mother here for a getaway.. We will not be back, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Dear SNR319, We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed in your recent stay at Ledges Hotel. We apologize for the inconveniences. We truly value our guests and always try to exceed their expectations. As you may know, Ledges is a historic property, so we are somewhat limited in how the space can be soundproofed. But we believe it’s the historic nature that makes the hotel so unique. Sanitation and cleanliness are among our highest priorities- now more than ever. Be assured that we are taking increased steps to ensure the well-being of our guests and our staff. The program is called, Secure at Settlers. You can review the safety measures we’ve undertaken on our website. We do appreciate your feedback and will share your comments with our manager, Terri. Feel free to reach out to her directly to share your concerns at Tmarcellus@settlershospitality.com. We hope you’ll give us a chance in the future to experience the kind of high-quality accommodations for which Ledges has become known.

We had high hopes for The Ledges, which we found in a Philadelphia Magazine story about good, close-by getaways during the COVID-19 restrictions. The property is lovely, everyone -- staff and guests -- were 100% conscientious about wearing masks and social distancing. We had a 2-bedroom suite for me, my husband and our grown daughter. Room 207. We soon realized this is one of the few suites not yet updated, and yikes, does it need it! Very worn, dated furniture. Crusty carpeting with a large bleach stain upstairs (and a bobby pin on the floor... none of us uses bobby pins). Badly sloping floor in the "master" bedroom. Worst of the worst: the beds in both bedrooms. The mattresses sag horribly in the middle (we are fit and not large people)! We did not sleep well at all and were thankful we at least brought our own pillows. This was ridiculous for nearly $450 a night, plus a resort fee! Restaurant food, service, outdoor seating/atmosphere and live music were great, at least. And we did take advantage of the complementary kayak rentals at their sister property, so that helped justify the resort fee. For the first time at any hotel stay we've ever had, we were not asked at checkout how our stay was. To us, that was telling! Had we been asked, we would have let the woman at the front desk know all of the above. My husband would like to go back sometime, just the two of us, and get a nicer room. My response: Restaurant? Yes. Hotel? NO.

Dear Traveler795466, Thank you for sharing a review of your recent stay at Ledges Hotel. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the property, dining at the restaurant and live music. We’re sorry you were disappointed with your guest room. It is surprising to hear the room was not thoroughly clean, but we’ll be sure to pass your comments on to the staff. Ledges has the distinction of being an historic property. That means the building has some inherent characteristics that come with a structure that’s over 100 years old. We believe that’s part of its charm. Your feedback is much appreciated, and we will be sure to share your comments with our manager, Terri. You may also contact her directly at tmarcellus@settlershospitality.com to share your concerns. We do hope you’ll return and give us another opportunity to show you why Ledges Hotel is one of the Poconos’ premier luxury hotels.
