Stayed at the pines and the food plan was literally cafeteria food I couldn’t even eat it, it came back out about a minute after we ordered it and it was near cold. The rooms we stayed in were so outdated and had literal mold growing in the bathrooms. And the amenities in general were just really out dated and not as much to do for the insane price they charge. Will not be coming back here.
This getaway was just for the spouse and me to celebrate our 25th anniversary. All the kids complained about being left behind for this trip. We stayed in a different room than our norm. This time we were in a Mountain Laurel hotel style room. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. In addition to the two beds, there was a full size sofa and sitting chair. More than enough space for 2 people. I had planned a few surprises for my wife during our trip, and had reached out for some assistance from the staff. Everyone was more than willing to participate. I especially want to thank Emilia, Corey and Carol for the help with the mug on our anniversary morning. The look on her face was worth it. Our plans changed (thank you Erin in Reservations) so we could arrive for the weekend to catch the Theme Show, and we were amazed (again) at the level of performance. To each and every performer and backstage person, let me say a huge THANK YOU. The entire social staff made our entire trip feel special. We always look forward to seeing each of you, even if only for the 2 minutes you have to spare. Sammy and Randy, you both made us feel like honored guests with the way you helped us celebrate our anniversary. Thank you. And a big shout-out to Jackie for doing our caricature picture. It has a treasured place in our home. And everyone at the front desk, thank you for laughing at my jokes and having a good time with us. This trip, we tried to do some different activities than normal, like disc golf. The course is challenging for novices. And the "steps" up to #9 were not necessarily a welcome surprise. A little warning or an alternate path up to the tee box might be in order there. But otherwise, very fun. Thank you all for making our 25th Anniversary trip a memorable one.…
The Grill Room at the springs serves a variety of food. I was told the beef bowl with noodles and stir fried vegetables had broccoli, carrots and some peppers. There were NO carrots and one tiny piece of broccoli. The cod fish dish had over cooked fish and dried out clams with under cooked rice. The onion rings were good. For the price point I would avoid.
The grounds are beautiful and well kept. It was very nicely decorated for fall. The haunted walk was a lot of fun. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable (loved the mattress!) The whole resort is well kept and clean. The staff were all pleasant and many have been there for years. We were a group of 10 and there was something for everyone to enjoy. Paddle boats, go-carts, bumper cars, batting cages, bocce ball, shuffle board, trivia games and "horse racing". The breakfasts were very good. We had 2 dinners and the first night was average, but the 2nd evening everyone really enjoyed their food. I had the pork shank and it was delicious!
I attended my niece's wedding there. The groom's dinner barbecue was great. At the reception, the beef was really tough, but people raved about the haddock. The brunch was great. I stayed in one of their 5 BR guest houses with other attendees: full kitchen, private baths, game room- very nice! The "lanes" were not well marked, and you couldn't see where you were walking at night because the street lights are so dim and few and far between. What I liked least was that when a dining room was reserved for certain hours, the staff started cleaning up long before the time was up. They took away my dessert and water way before I was done. I was taking photos. Yes, maybe someone else had the room reserved after us, in which case they shouldn't schedule events so close together.
I can't believe we have lived in PA all of our lives and just found this place. This place is exceptional. This is essential a cruise on land and instead of cruising to new islands, you are instead embedded in nature and family activities. So rare to find an all inclusive in the US. And the price for all that you get is unbelievable and matches what you find on a cruise or even a Caribbean all inclusive resort. We stayed over Labor Day weekend. There is so much to do outside that is included in what you pay. Paddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards, sail boats, boat rides, water skiiing on the lake. You can swim in the lake of which has a nice beach area, or in the indoor pool, or outdoor pool, or sit in the indoor or outdoor hot tub, and kids have an indoor and outdoor splash zone. There is a slide into the lake and also a nice indoor slide for the kids as well. There is a sauna and work out room. The playground for children is new and awesome, I've never seen anything like it, the kids were loving it. Miniature golf, rock walls, shuffle board, bocce board, corn hole games, ping pong, beach volleyball, basketball courts, all included. Multiple fire pits at night. Bummer cars, bumper boats, archery, carriage rides, petting zoo. Activites all day long including games and trivia events. The night shows are multiple- 2-3 each night, and are amazing. For a small fee there is also trap shooting, rifle shooting, batting cages, bowling, arcade games. There is literally something for everyone. We couldn't believe the quality of the night shows, they were outstanding. Rain or shine, your family will have something to do. Comedian, magician, broadway style show, juggling shows, all amazing. We picked the 3 meal plan and were very happy with it. I am a picker eater and loved the food for all 3 meals. We loved having lunch already planned and the value of lunch versus trying to get it on our own was cost effective, and the wide variety of lunch options (all meals wide variety) also made it worth it. My husband is not picky but food is important to him and he was very happy with the food. Food makes or breaks a vacation to him and he was in love with the different breakfast breads in the mornings and the desserts in particular. The food was consistently good and happy belly meant happy guests. Our server Jean was wonderful. The resort does not ask guests for additional tip for staff and they simply charge you a 15% tip that they divide up among the staff. However, we went out of our way to give a little extra to Jean, as she, just like on a cruise ship, was our consistent server over the weekend. Seeing her face light up like a Christmas tree with the extra tip was worth it. We advise guests to consider bringing some extra cash for your server, they work hard and give up family and weekend time to serve you. Our room->very comfortable mattress and also couch. We wished the tv was on a bracket that would allow it to be moved out so that it could be seen easier from the couch; the room was large enough however that we simply moved the couch instead. The lake view was outstanding. Large balcony with comfortable chairs. The resort will televise their night shows on channel I believe 80 so families that can't make the show such as due to young children bedtime can still watch it in the room. Room was clean and well supplied with towels. Room service can be requested if desired. I will say for those with mobility issues, would recommend staying at pine lodge, same level as dining room, and close to dinning room. Only one elevator here, and rooms towards the end from the dinning room can be quite far. I would recommend just calling to book your reservation if you have mobility issues and let the staff help you pick out the room. Pine resort is lake and main dinning room, and also where the shows are at. There is a second hotel next store that is where the indoor pool is at. We were glad to stay in pine resort lodge. Lake has plenty of shade and lounge chairs and while on a hill down to the lake, there is a wheel chair accessible path to it. Plenty of towels available for quests to use at pool and lake. This resort, despite being crowded, because it has so much to do, it never felt crowded which is really unusual in a good way. The Sunday night show, broadway show, was incredible. Smart song choices for all generations. Moana section very popular with the young children and the singer who played Moana was spot on with her voice. The quality of all the singers, the set, the costumes was shockingly good. Our favorite was Sammy, he is an elderly asian gentleman but his voice is that of someone much younger and he easily kept up with the dancing of the other singers who were likely half his age. He is really something special, he should go on America's got talent. Special shout out to Scott, a long time employee who does the family game events such as scattergories categories, he was right that the games get competitive! He makes the atmosphere lots of fun and is a great host. Special shout out to Dave, the cowboy who did the horse drawn carriage rides and also the petting zoo. We enjoyed our conversation with him during our carriage ride. He is wonderful with the children with the pony rides at the petting zoo he brings Monday mornings, he makes anyone nervous feel comfortable and for the child who cries he will cut the ride short and find a way to end the ride in smiles. His petting zoo animals are well trained, we especially loved the miniature donkey. I was sad to hear that the resort has moved away from horse drawn events in the fall and winter- please bring back horse drawn hay rides and also horse drawn carriage rides for the xmas light!. The horse part is so much more memorable then a truck drawn hay ride. Plus, feed prices are really up this year between shortages and rising diesel prices, please help keep this nice gentlemen stay in business. I would recommend anyone getting married here to inquire about a horse drawn carriage ride for their ceremony. Special shout out to Jim, a nephew of the owners, for his kind conversations with us. It is so wonderful to be at a family owned resort. So rare, usually its corporate owned hotels and resorts. The family touch was felt through out the resort and we loved that by staying here, we were directly supporting our local community. This place is very thoughtful and every detail is planned out, the personal touch of the family that owns this is an easily seen thread in this resort. The service here is Disney level service, you truly feel like part of the family and feel at home (Disney before the pandemic). Many of the workers have been there for decades. Many families, from grandparents to grandchildren, come together and have gone yearly for decades. The dedications on the benches around the resort from these families is so touching to read. This resort is really a special place. Many people were booking for next year when we were checking out. We will be back, we are already looking at coming back in the winter!!…
Tons of things to do in a safe, family friendly, kind environment. The lake is beautiful and peaceful, it never feels too crowded but always bustling with activity. The rooms are nice sizes, clean with a great view of the lake. Every person who works there goes out of their way to make your visit the best it can possibly be. It is not inexpensive but worth every penny. Meals are included which takes away the stress of figuring out where to go and what time. The food is excellent and the service outstanding.
I was really shocked and disappointed when I pulled up to our 5 bedroom rental. First of all, it was pretty small and extremely dark. Second, it said it accommodated 12 but the kitchen table only sat 6 and the living room had a dingy couch and seating for 6 as well. The furniture was bargain basement furniture and the the decor was non-existent. The price was $7,000 for 5 days and thus I feel completely ripped off.
There is literally no place more family oriented than Woodloch!! We look forward to our trip there every year and the staff always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The rooms are great and the view of the lake is gorgeous from all points of the property. So so much for the kids to do and the parents too!!!
The property we stayed look beautiful on the outside but not so much inside. The bathrooms and kitchens were outdated and kitchen. The basement was cold, no separate AC to adjust the temperature for the basement. We had short supplies for our two nights stay.
