The house is very well kept and the rooms are very cozy and clean..and yet have a very classic feel. It sets at a great location overlooking the river and in close walking distance to all the city centers. If your looking to check out the city of Harrisburg PA for the day, I highly recommend booking your room at the City House.

I was traveling with a friend who has stayed here many times, but it was my first experience. Our reservation had been made for late March, but as the date approached, the country was starting to shut down due to the COVID pandemic. We were at the end of a long road trip, which we had to cut short. The owner kindly let us stay as we would have been stranded on the highway otherwise. We checked ourselves in, and the owner left food for breakfast for us in the fridge, but otherwise we had no interaction with anyone. The BnB is lovely and I particularly appreciated the art gallery set up in the main common rooms, with really appealing paintings. The setting overlooking the Greenbelt park right along the Susquehanna River is great. We walked along the river in the morning, and enjoyed the Harrisburg Sunken Garden. I look forward to returning, meeting owner, Erica, enjoying breakfast served in the Florida room or the main dining room, and seeing the latest artist's work on display.

My husband and I stayed here when visiting Harrisburg. Dawne, one of the B&B caretakers, was super friendly. She even upgraded my husband and I to a bigger room. We stayed in the Williams room, which was spacious and had a very comfy bed. They had chocolates in the room and homemade chocolate chip cookies and coffee right outside the room. The breakfast was a delicious veggie frittata, sausage, fruit, jam, and yogurt! With many more options as well (jam muffins, bagels, etc.). The location was wonderful- you can walk along the river, cross over to city island for mini golf, head to 2nd street to enjoy food and drink downtown, hop on the AT for some great hiking, or take a day trip kayaking from Blue Mountain Outfitters. I can't wait to come back to explore more of Harrisburg and stay at City House B&B.

We enjoyed staying at this B&B. You can tell there is a lot of attention paid to detail. There is a coffee bar with snacks and access to water right outside of the rooms. The house is clean and has multiple spaces to relax in. Dawn was a great hostess. She made check in very easy and hassle free. Breakfast was delicious. The house is very well located to get around in Harrisburg. If we are ever back in Harrisburg we would love to stay here again!

The City House Bed & Breakfast was a short walk to the capital complex and other downtown Harrisburg sights. The Innkeeper was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Enjoyed my short stay in Harrisburg and would stay here again. Lovely cooked breakfast and coffee bar. The room was charming and historic with modern amenities. The shower was very spacious. Cross the street and you can walk along the river. It is a historic home, so expect to hear people on the stairs and it is located downtown so there will a bit of traffic noise. Otherwise it is a quiet and relaxing place to stay. Oh and there is parking!
