My husband and I were married at the Sheppard Mansion on New Year's Eve (2015) and could not have chosen a better venue!! With the sweeping staircase, the gorgeous Men's and Women's Lounges, it was the perfect choice! We rented the entire place out, and it is PERFECT for an intimate wedding, anniversary or New Year's Eve party!! Sharon Wise... More

We stayed while there was renovation being done. Absolutely every effort was made so that this did not negatively impact our stay. Beverly greeted us, gave us a tour and then took us to our suite. Mrs. Sheppard had quite the comfy boudoir and the updates have only added to the comfort factor. After a long day hiking Gettysburg Battlefield... More

A great location for visiting Gettysburg. Our innkeeper Sharon provided lots of local information and places to eat within the area. Our breakfasts were very enjoyable and filling. We were looked after well and enjoyed our stay.

As B & Bs go this is a great historic house in the middle of Hanover PA. Be aware that Hanover like a lot of other small PA towns has a LOT of heavy truck traffic most of which travels outside this house( or so it seams) The innkeeper was a very charming ,pleasant person. Great welcome on arrival. Our... More

We are antique buffs and thoroughly impressed with he authentic furnishings of this B&B. Our room was the Lee room which feaured an amazing half tester bed, a massive victorian dresser and a victorian whatnot, The rest of the house was furnished with similar iems, including several tiffany lamps, The breakfast was good alhough no exceptional.

Our 8th year renting the Sheppard for a spring family get to together and it's charms still delight us. The caretakers were delightful and made us excellent breakfasts. This year we thoroughly enjoyed hanging out in the library for a late evening impromptu party. The family still owns and cares for this beautiful mansion and Carriage House shop across the... More

We have stayed there twice. Lovely mansion, with interesting artifacts from the family that still owns the home. We had a chance to peak into several rooms while we were staying and they are all perfectly maintained and charming. Our room had a beautifully painted ceiling, large bed, plenty of storage and a really lovely bathroom with a good sized... More

My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice quiet getaway and the Sheppard Mansion met and exceeded our expectations. Check in went great. We arrived around 4pm and were greeted at the door with a smile by the weekend inn keeper, Penny. Penny gave us our key and a quick tour of the mansion. The mansion was built in... More

There were no other guests during our stay so it was a treat to enjoy the mansion by ourselves. The former popular restaurant downstairs is now closed however but the tables remain. I imagine they use it for weddings and receptions. We enjoyed the lovely Ayres Suite and were glad to have the extra large king sized bed but the... More

The Sheppard Mansion is a lovely B&B but actually more like a quaint Inn. We arrived on Friday night and there was a wedding happening which could've made anyone feel awkward, but the lady who helped us when we arrived was very quick and attentive to take us up to our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. There... More
