The 2019 Covered Bridges Ride is always a favorite distance cycling event in PA Dutch country.
Country Acres Campground was ideally located from the start and from my home area in Broomall, PA.
Prices were fair, campsites well maintained with fire pit and picnic table. Ask for self camp site that backs up to corn field towards swimming pool end of drive.
Campground also home to many travel trailers, and they have several modern cabins for rent.
Two bath/laundry houses ( one new; one old), a covered pavilion, pool, and playground. Nights were quiet, and barely heard the semi trailer traffic on main road.
Plenty of places to eat and shop within 10 minutes.
I spent 2 nights and cycled both Saturday and Sunday. With a late checkout for self camping, I was able to return to site after Sunday’s 65 miles cycling to break down my campsite and take a shower and swim!

We were returning to our home in Maine from wintering in the South. Many campgrounds had closed. We were welcomed at Country Acres and stayed for several days in a beautiful site, with about 25 sites near us empty. The manager, Kathy, was wonderful. She even opened the door for us every time we went to the office, so we wouldn't have to touch anything. She was also very accommodating when we needed to change plans. The campground itself was spacious and spotless. Lawns and flowers were manicured to perfection. We looked out on an Amish field, which was so nice in a stressful time. Thanks for your help Kathy. We'll be back in better times.

Response from Justin S, Owner at Country Acres Campground
Responded Apr 15, 2020
Dear Ken D, Thank you for taking time to post a review on Trip Advisor. We are so glad to be helpful during such a time like this. We have shut all of our common area facilities down through April 30th to help with Social Distancing but the campground is still open to serve people who need a place to stay. I am so glad Kathy was accommodating and helpful -- she works very hard to serve all of our campers! We will look forward to serving you again in the future!

This is a very nice campground, but the two times I stayed here recently were not as nice as I remembered. Much more noise from the busy road was the worse part. On the positive side, the employees at the office are very nice, the Hershey bar is delicious and if you like ice cream, treat yourself to a Hershey sundae (novelty) at the office. The bathrooms are clean and showers have good water pressure and warm temperatures. This time we stayed at site 808 and the shower house here seemed like one of the older ones. If you go up by the pool, that shower house is gorgeous! I guess you have to have a big rig to get those sites and I hear they sell out quickly. The gravel roads are great to walk around and there are some hills to get your heart rate up. One of the campers near us was letting his dog wander without a leash. As a lady was walking her little dog, this guy’s chocolate lab approached her dog and the owner was sitting near his camper calling his dog back, but it wasn’t listening. I felt so bad for this little dog even though the larger dog was only sniffing it. I let the office know and also that this guy left his dogs in his trailer when he left, so they barked every time someone walked by. It’s unfortunate that some people can’t follow the rules. Also kind of odd that I did not see any campground employees out & about to keep an eye on things. We used the fan in our camper to cover up the traffic noise at night. We would probably stay here again, since it seems to be the best available campground in the area.

Our family recently spent 6 days at country acres and had a wonderful time. All of the staff is very friendly and the campground is maintained beautifully. We loved the abundant green grass and corn fields. Most sites are large enough to enjoy without being on top of your neighbor. The campground was more than 80% full during our stay but everyone was nice, respectful and generally quiet (mostly older folks, not a lot of little kids). There were pros and cons to our site. Cons: our site was near the motel 6 which is also a bit closer to the main road so there was constant road noise and large bright spotlights from the motel at night. Pros: our site was very large with beautiful grass so we enjoyed using the extra space to play games, enjoy an outdoor movie and campfire, and play with our dog. I felt like the nice site made up for the cons so we were happy. We will be back again!

This campground is amazing. First location, it’s in the perfect location to see the many attractions in Lancaster. The campsites are well laid out and they’re not afraid to use gravel. I’ve prefer gravel over pads but pads over dirt or halfway gravel. The landscaping is beautiful and while they ask you not to put your mat on the grass it’s because it’s like a golf course and there’s plenty of gravel in each site for mats anyway. We have 38’ rig and an Avalanche TOAD. Plenty of space. Bath houses were clean and close to each section and every site had a fire ring. We will be making this our goto location for any future visits. Great staff.

What a WONDERFUL campground close to many sights and attractions. As soon as we pulled in we knew it was going to be a great stay. The ladies in the office were very friendly and helpful. Our site, 809, was very spacious and super clean. Hook ups were well maintained and worked without any issues. We walked around the park and everyone there was friendly. There’s no junk here. The pool and bath facilities were top notch. This ranks as one of the cleanest and well maintained campgrounds we’ve visited. Although it is somewhat close to a highway, the road noise was negligible. We will certainly stay here on our return trips to the area.

This is our favorite campground. Every year, they continue to make improvements. This year they have expanded the playground area, added a large cabin for rental and enlarged some of the sites where the former playground was located. In addition, they have blacktopped an area, added lighting for outside events.

Kathy & Justin and all of the staff is hands down, the friendliest that we have ever met in our 6 years of camping.

This trip was business related as I had a meeting in Lancaster. At this time of year, the campground is usually not busy with visitors, but the grounds staff were busy planting, grading and getting everything ready for the upcoming season. They always take a moment to wave, say hello or welcome back.

If you want a great campground, visit the Amish areas, Country Acres is the best !

One other thing …. In seasonon Fridays, a very nice Amish lady visits with a cart full of fresh baked goodies to see at very reasonable prices. If you are watching your diet, I would suggest that you just wave at her as she walks by. Otherwise, be prepared to experience the best baked goodies !

Very loud, not a relaxing place at all. The sites are on top of each other so the people are loud and you are right next to the highway. Beautiful place with a pool and nice facilities. But if you’re looking to stay for quiet camping, not your place.

Every site is nicely maintained. Facilities are kept clean & neat. Staff is friendly and helpful. We have been RV'ing for 40+ years and this campground is on the top 5 of our list. The cable TV offers 65 high quality channels. The wifi works flawlessly with speeds of 25mbs down and 15mbs upload. When you check in you are greeted with a smile and a Hershey candy bar.

Country Acres Campground
PROS:
~ campground is very clean and well maintained.
~ Friendly staff

Sadly, there are more cons than pros. This could have easily been a 5 star facility if it had a better location.

CONS:
~ You can hear Route 30 traffic/18 wheeler noise all day and night. You continually hear the air brakes from the trucks; we had no sleep our entire stay.
~ If you get one of the sites behind the Motel 6 you’ll have plenty of lighting throughout the night along with noise from motel occupants coming and going.
~ Starting about 6am, Pine Hill Trailer Sales (they also manufacture onsite) you’ll start hearing fabrication noises.

**Ask for a site away from manufacturing facility and Motel 6. You’ll still have Route 30 noise.

Hi, Robin. What would you like to know about this accommodation?

Nice place to settle into after seeing the sights of Lancaster, PA. Great Wifi. Pretty vistas while sitting outside enjoying the sun. Friendly staff. Pretty flowers and landscaping; well-maintained. Very nice bath houses. Nice long entrance driveway which is helpful for large RVs with a toad to unhook. The ONLY thing I didn't like was the gravel roadways; not easy, sometimes dangerous, to bike ride. Not a problem if you don't intend to ride your bike while staying there. Altho, I will say, it was new gravel that they maintain by manually raking and spreading/levelling it.

Our policy at Country Acres Campground is that we ask you to help us follow PA State guidelines and not bring in firewood from out of the state, that you burn what you bring and leave no firewood behind. We do have firewood for sale at the office. Our guidelines can be found on our website.
