I did not stay at the Avalon but I did come for a bridal expo they were coordinating. We has RSVPd ahead of time (meaning they had my phone number and email) as well at joined the Facebook event. Having travelled 200+ miles, we arrived for the expo only to be told by the front desk staff that the expo...

Pluses: * Convenient * Seems to be locally owned * Very nice front-desk staff * Large rooms * Very quiet * Reasonable rates * Clean Minuses: * No restaurant (had to Uber to eat). * Many days with no maid service, I typically had to ask to get fresh towels and sheets, and even that wasn't a guarantee. * No...

My buddies and I have stayed here several times while in town for sports events. We tried it again this weekend. The place is going downhill... Good: - location. It's downtown, near most amenities. When it's actually busy downtown, you can park the car and walk everywhere. This is good. - price. For $70ish a night, you can't beat the...

We paid $84 per night for this hotel hence wasnt expecting too much. For location, this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Rooms were dark and very uncomfortable. No access to elevators from the underground garage and had pull lift all the bags, stroller and my infant to get to elevators. Breakfast is horrible, skip it if...

This was the worst hotel to hold a conference. Our meeting rooms were less than 60 degrees. Some of our group had no hot water, the rooms did not get warm, clogged drains, room keys that kept locking you out...Lack of heat, no decent restaurant or bar, meeting rooms were terrible. It was the worst meeting place I've ever seen....

I understand that I paid around $70 per night for this hotel, so not much was to be expected. I won't list each and every thing that was awful about it, but some things are worth noting: My 7 year-old twins and I stayed in a two bed room on the 7th floor. If you are sensitive to mold, don't...

We stayed at this hotel on 1-27-2017. This is one of the worst hotels that I have stayed in. The service is terrible. We had to request a roll away bed 5 times. When we finally got it, the blankets were ripped. There was an area on the ceiling that had water damage. When I picked up the phone to...

The first room I had...the tub was cracked, no plug in the drain, the comforters and sheets were dirty. Oh! And the toilet ran every 3 minutes (yes, I timed it). I requested a new room and after a brief explanation was given a new room. The second room...just as old and tired, but the tub was clean, toilet normal...

This was the third time we stayed at the Avalon and we laughed about the fact that we were returning after having average at best experiences int he past. We figured it would be better since it was Monday night. Upon checking in, we were told there were only 3 reservations that night but they did not offer any upgrades....

It was pleasant experience. It is one of the tallest building so have a better view of city. The rooms are quite big and it is an old property. It has walkable access to down town attractions. Would recommend.
