Spencer House Bed & Breakfast is a true Bed and Breakfast in a beautifully restored Victorian mansion on Historic Millionaire's Row. Our location is close to Downtown within walking distance to Perry Square, Gannon University and a number of wonderful restaurants and attractions. We are also a short drive to Presque Isle State Park and it's 13.5 mile multi-purpose trail and award winning beaches and also Lake Erie Wine Country, the largest grape growing region east of the Rockies with it's wine trail of over 20 wineries, many of which are award winning. Built in 1876 as a wedding gift, you'll feel welcome as soon as you enter the front door. The solid brick home with elegant original woodwork throughout provides for a comfortable and quiet atmosphere for you to be able to relax and enjoy your time here. As a true Bed and Breakfast a full, home cooked, hot breakfast is included in your room rate. All rooms have a private bath, cable television, free wireless internet and individual controls for heat and air conditioning. Off street parking is provided and you can walk to many local restaurants and attractions.

If you want a quaint, clean and conveniently located place to stay in Erie, look no further!! I stayed at Spencer House this past weekend for a quick getaway. Steve and Lisa made me feel right at home. The old Victorian is gorgeous. My room was very spacious and comfortable. Steve greeted me and was extremely helpful throughout the weekend. The breakfast was delicious and they both went out of their way to accomodate for my gluten allergy. They also went out of their way to provide hand sanitizer in different locations and have adapted well to Covid times. I felt very safe there and highly recommend this place!!

We were treated to a weekend at Spencer House as an anniversary gift. It was a perfect getaway for a weekend trip. Steve and Lisa could not have been better hosts and we enjoyed hearing about the history of the house from them. Our room was excellent, very comfortable and everything we could have hoped for. Breakfast on both days was amazing, Lisa is a wonderful cook. The house is clean and comfortable and I enjoyed the complimentary bottled water, and candy that was left in our room. The entire house is very tidy and our concerns about COVID were put to rest, with hand sanitizer throughout, socially distanced breakfast seating, and reminders to guests to wear their masks. I highly recommend, we will definitely be back, we plan to bring our son for a tripe to Presque Isle

From the moment you walk into the Spencer House Bed & Breakfast, you will feel like you're walking into a peaceful and welcoming environment. Steven and Lisa welcomed us with open arms, a gorgeous environment, and a fabulous breakfast!! They thought of everything to make us feel welcome. There were little chocolates in a bowl on our dresser, a water cooler with cold and hot water for the coffee and tea they provided in our room, they had disposable tableware on the dresser in case we came back with a late night snack, they had maps and other information on the local sites. Steven even helped us find the best place to view the sunset on Presque Isle (although the weather didn't cooperate with providing us with a sunset). The breakfast the next morning was AMAZING!! Steven and Lisa love to cook, and it showed! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Steven and Lisa, hearing about the history of their beautiful B & B, and getting spoiled by them!! We found the Spenser house very clean and comfortable, the house is beautiful, especially the room on the left as you enter the front door which is all black walnut. The house is beautiful as well as historical and Steve provided us with some good history of the house and other houses near by, The house is on millionaires row in Erie PA. Our room the presidents suite had a comfortable 4 post king bed. Steve and Lisa were great hosts, breakfast was delicious. The front of the house and front porch were adorned with Mums in planters and hanging baskets, all beautiful and watered with a drip irrigation system, no wasting of the water there. I would stay there again if in the area.

Everything was absolutely perfect, the room was filled with free stuff and was perfect for us. The complimentary breakfast was scrumptiously delicious and they accommodated to our dietary needs. They help with finding nearby attractions. It was very very clean and there was a lot of fans and an air conditioner. The price of the room was very fair considering the complimentary things they give you. We had a jacuzzi in our room which made our nights a little more special. There was a smart TV which was convenient. Everything was perfect and I will definitely be coming back.

First and foremost, we stayed in the President's Suite. The online pictures didn't do the room justice. It was absolutely WONDERFUL, spacious, luxurant, and had a vintage-classy feel that really completed the stay. The breakfast service in the morning was fantastic and had a good variety as well. Most importantly, my girlfriend who had trusted me to plan this trip actually loved the room and she said it blew her expectations outta the water. I also loved the location of the place. Its kind of centrally located between presque isle, some well known restaurants in the area, downtown, and bayfront! The decision to stay as Spencer House really set up the trip to be an awesome vacation for my girlfriend and I.

We spent two days at Spencer House on a visit for lighthouse tours and wineries. Steve and Lisa have obviously poured their hearts into Spencer House. From Steve's great tour on our arrival to the breakfast we loved our stay. Great location for visiting the Erie area and way better then a chain hotel. I spent over an hour just looking at the woodwork in the house and listening to the lovely little creaks of this grand house. Steve was even kind enough to clear the snow from our truck before we left in the morning to see the lighthouse. The shower in Mary's room is tiny but it is advertised as that on their site and since my wife and I are not large people it was not a problem for us. Next time we will pick the room with the cast iron tub. We will be back again when visiting the area. Thank you Steve and Lisa!!!

My husband and I only spent one night at this beautiful Bed & Breakfast, but it was a very relaxing one! We were greeted by Steve, and given some history of the house, which we greatly enjoyed. The house is stunning! Such beautiful woodwork and detail. They are being very responsible with Covid, taking many precautions, which we very much appreciated. We stayed in the Spencer Suite, which was quite large and very comfortable on the 3rd floor. We visit many B&B's up and down the East coast and Canada and I must say that this was one of my favorite breakfasts!!! The variety served is exceptional, even better is how great it all tastes. Highly recommend, we will be back!!!!

Amazing Bed and Breakfast. A must visit if you are heading to the Erie area. A beautiful home with attention to original detail throughout. Knowledgeable owners who share, interesting, in-depth history of the home. Breakfasts are delicious with generous portions. The home is very well maintained, clean and within walking distance to so much in downtown Erie (locally owned restaurants, the Gannon University Campus, nearby sporting venues etc.) A ten minute drive to near-by Presque Isle. Rooms are spacious, off street parking options, Wi-Fi, a large porch in the front for outdoor seating/relaxation. I have stayed at many Bed and Breakfasts over the last 10 years and this by far, has been my favorite. Will definitely be returning. Thank you Steve and Lisa for such wonderful accommodations!

I don't know why we have never stayed at a B and B before but this visit was a wonderful introduction. We booked a one night stay in the Nursery. A two bed room with a private bath steps away. We were greeted by Steve and given a short history of the house. We had access to two rooms on the ground floor as well as the front porch where you can meet other guests. The bathroom was close and equipped with a nice tub, a window, and a pull-chain flusher (not seen since I was a kid quite a few years ago). Our room was spacious and bright and reasonably priced. The internet was good as was the cable. Breakfast the next morning was nice. I couldn't have done better myself. Steve waited on us like we were respected guests. Lisa prepared a nice meal. Also nice background music while we ate. I couldn't get over the feeling that we were staying in a museum or the home of a rich old relative. It was a nice feeling. Should we come back to Erie we will stay here again and in the meantime recommend to all we know. Their covid precautions were part of why we felt so comfortable. Thanks to Steve and Lisa. Spencer House is conveniently located close to many attractions as well as restaurants and other things to do. We are the closest Bed and Breakfast to Presque Isle State Park which is about 3.5 miles from our front door. An easy drive or even bike ride.
We only have 6 rooms, and only have 1 room left for the 27th and 28th. So sorry we can't accommodate. You can look at our rooms and availability directly on our web page. Thanks for asking John.
