We had a lovely stay at the Inn in the cottage, now that we have a rescue finding something somewhat pet friendly is tough but we had the ground level of this lovely historic place with modern yet vintage touches and rustic look that my guy loves, It had a nice kitchen with table for sitting, very well equipped items u might need Keurig, dishes cups etc in corner are olden 2 part doors let to a screened porch . This i loved & enjoyed the breeze and so did out little Sweetie who just seemed to take a liking and too felt at home..very quickly. This room had a wood winding stairs to the upper floor very nice though at a our age, its bit hard on the creaking knees had be careful of footing me..ms clumsy.. but was do-able & led to a lovely bedroom and bathrooom w/jacuzzi type tub and shower..& a super cool high trundle bed.. Nice touches, there are things to me that are so fascinating all over the whole inn. My guy was ready to re-book soon as he got home.. we had a lovely breakfast by the caretakers since Rebecca was not there this particular time ..well they were so helpful so welcoming and friendly.. Only slight negative if you are one wants complete silence is there is quite a bit of traffic..where u can hear the trucks but did not bother me in least but i would see my yorkie jump up a few times.. but noise does not bother me..heck i like in a city. Actually too quiet hurts my ears..LOL The area is much closer to restaurants and quite a few stores and Supermarket that i imagined, I didn't see a lot in regard to covid masking but was plenty of stuff in room as to Clorox wipes, sanitizer very out in the open! but having gone around the area of Lancaster etc.. finding are not super big on masking up.. On the whole ..I'd highly recommend this Inn..…
We have stayed at this inn several times over the years, and it always exceeds our expectations. It is an historic bed and breakfast, with working fireplaces, beautiful grounds, and wonderful owners/hosts. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed, working fireplace in season and fabulous rainhead shower in the large bathroom. The stay includes a wonderful several course breakfast, hosted by the personable Rebecca. Parking is on the premises, including chargers for electric cars. Covid protocols are followed.
My husband and I enjoyed staying at the tailor’s cottage for an overnight getaway celebrating our shared birthdays. Our host was very accommodating in helping get us set up with streaming on the tv, since we couldn’t borrow dvds. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and we bought one of the beautiful mugs to bring home with us. We plan to be back!
What a lovely gem! I booked the inn to hold a staff retreat. From the beginning Rebecca was an amazing host. The inn is clean and the COVID measures made us all feel safe. Having a safe place for people to come together is key. The wine bar is cozy and a great addition. Now let’s talk about food. The breakfasts were amazing. I have stayed in May b & b’s; Rebecca has a gift for making breakfast a beautiful experience. I highly recommend staying at the Smithton Inn. You won’t be disappointed.
If you need a break from your home/work space...this is the place. Beautiful area. Quiet space to work. Great WiFi. Wine downstairs because hello, work/life balance is important right now. Could not recommend it more. Side note...amazing space for family photos!!!
