Pine Barn Inn garners appreciation for its attentive service, especially during personal hardships, as travelers highlight the staff's helpfulness. While opinions on value are mixed, with some concerns over the cost relative to room conditions and amenities, the hotel's cleanliness receives praise. The rooms are described as comfortable, despite occasional maintenance issues and outdated decor. Guests enjoy the professional atmosphere and the hotel's prime location near medical facilities and local attractions. The on-site restaurant is a highlight, though some amenities could be improved.

I’ve stayed here numerous times when traveling in the area and have always had a nice experience. It is a breath of fresh air from chain hotels on the interstates. Staff at the hotel and restaurant are always friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed in the building with the larger rooms but usually get a smaller room with exterior door which I find convenient when traveling solo by motorcycle. The staff at the desk always tries to accommodate me and I find those rooms just as comfortable.

My son required surgery at a local children's outpaitent surgery center. We were advised to try this hotel as it was closest and had vouchers through the hospital to help with costs. The rooms are more motel than hotel, you park outside your room with the door right there to your room. At first I didn't think we'd like that but honestly it was super convenient. The rooms were clean and up-to-date, it was fairly quiet, not a lot of noise from the other rooms and the food from the onsite restaurant was AMAZING!
We've had to stay in Danville for another of our children but didn't stay here. Pine Barn Inn will definintely be our go to for any future stays!

I found the Pine Barn Inn very pleasant and homey. Loved the quaint atmosphere. I was looking forward to trying the crabcakes because that is my favorite. unfortunately I was very disappointed.
It had too much filler and too much seasonging. I expected to taste and see the crab meat. It was loaded with a lot of green herb which made the crabcake gritty and too over seasoned so it didn't taste like a crabcake. The shrimp cocktail was watery and not firm. The clams were good, but never saw such tiny, tiny steamed clams. Both salads were very good as was the Chicken breast we add to the salad. Excellent Brussell sprouts. Orange juice was bitter. But on the hold Breakfast was outstanding, cheese omlette, pancakes, ham,and the poached eggs were spot-on absolutely perfect. toast, and delicious jam. Tomato juice perfect, nice and cold. I would eat breakfast for every meal. Simple fresh taste for crabcakes. Rooms, Staff, and Service were A1. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We love the Pine Barn because of its history and location in Danville. We always stay there when visiting family there. The staff are always wonderful. The hotel is really showing its age, though, and could use some sprucing up in the rooms as well as upgrades to their technology (spotty WIFI with low data speed, small old tvs, terrible cable lineup). We usually arrive around dinner time after a long drive, and most recently there was very little in town open for dinner aside from some fast food. We were hoping the hotel restaurant would be open even for limited service, but as it was New Year’s Day they were closed to all service. My advice is to plan ahead to see what might be open if you’re in need of a healthier dinner, or bring something of your own along.

Overall it's a great little Inn and it's proximity to Geisinger is IDEAL for families staying for loved ones. However, the section of the Inn we stayed at was in need of routine maintenance and a deep cleaning. We did stay at a reduced rate using a voucher, which was provided by Geisinger due to my grandson having surgery. The voucher specifically stated it was only for a section of the Inn. Is it possible this section isn't maintained as well as the other building? That's a question to management.

We apologize if you felt the need for deep cleaning, we do our best to maintain each and every room the same regardless of a loved one staying at Geisinger or those for businees or recreation. We appreciate you pointing out your issues and will work to continue to improve and grow. It was a prvilege to have you as a guest.

My daughter’s reaction upon arrival and after hearing the cost for a 2 night stay (around $800)-“Mom-you've been catfished!” I’m writing this review as I lay here at 2:51 a.m. with about an hour of sleep under my belt. This place is nothing more than a motel in a parking lot beneath a hospital. The room is small, claustrophobic, and needs TLC desperately. There is chipped paint on the trim of the bathroom, the carpet is dated and this godforsaken air conditioner sounds like a jumbo jet. The mattress and pillows are uncomfortably lumpy and impossible to sleep on with another person. Every time my husband moves, I fall into a mini-ditch. The exterior and interior look nothing like pictures on the website (thus the catfish reference) and have none of the “vibe” that they were projecting. The exterior is unattractive and gives an outdated motel, glorified tool shed vibe. With all that being said, the front desk area was pretty nice, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was decent. In addition to that, the room was clean and the bedding seemed fresh. There is NO WAY this room should have been close to $400 per night. Taking advantage of families trying to visit their children on Family Weekend at Bucknell is obviously what is happening here. This is a $150-200 MAX value. I hate feeling taken advantage of. My problem is the price DID NOT reflect the value. I have many more visits to Bucknell in my future and wish I could recommend this place, since families are desperately searching for places to stay near the school. But the price was absolutely ridiculous for the value and I’m really unhappy about it and TIRED! I wish this air conditioner would shut up! Ugh!

My room was amazing, the food was amazing, everyone was amazing. While I know this hotel serves many they are also in the unique situation of serving many who are affected by having a family member in the hospital. This makes their being so amazing even better. I was so at peace and cared for during my exhausting stay. They didn't know my mom was in the hospital. They didn't know how much their kindness meant or how much my empty stomach needed that wonderful food. They didn't realize that allowing me to buy that glass of wine right at closing meant so much to me. Everyone was outstanding. And a special thank you to the first employee I encountered, Koran. She took extra time to make sure I was settled and left her station to point me in the direction of my room. She had no idea how much I needed that little bit of extra care and kindness in that moment. She was the start to a wonderful stay and deserves a special thank you.

We visited the Pine Barn Inn recently and we were very happy with our choice of lodging. The Inn was clean, cool and comfortable. I was delighted to find the bathtub so clean that I could take a bath after a hike at Bushkill Falls. I was also happy to find there was no hollow place in our king-sixed bed These two things are a rare find at hotels nowadays. I would stay there again. One thing that would have been great to have was a swimming pool. But, you can't have everything. The staff was friendly and welcominig.

There aren’t a lot of options in the area but that’s ok because this place is wonderful. The staff is friendly and professional. They will make sure you have what you need. The rooms are always clean. The rooms are only a little bit dated but as this is good solid construction and decoration (not cheap) it is still quite nice. I’m sure they will update things again soon. The restaurant is wonderful. I am very particular, especially about cleanliness, and The Pine Barn Inn checks all of the boxes.

Stayed at Pine Barn in the Premier Suite on our wedding night. We walked into a beautiful room where staff had placed a bottle of champagne with strawberries and a congratulatory card signed by the staff. It was a wonderful experience and we can’t say enough good things.

Hello ArchaeologyDoc, while Pine Barn Inn itself does not have a shuttle service, Geisinger does and we are one of the stops on the route by request. The shuttle buses run 5 am to 9:15 pm, Monday through Friday. The shuttle is not available on weekends or holidays. The front desk here at the hotel can call and schedule a pick up for you at the time of departure. Thank you so much.
