I recently completed a stay from 7/27-31/22 and it was fabulous. Great to see Chris back in the kitchen and having the opportunity to enjoy one of his wonderful custom prepared breakfasts each morning. Examples of those breakfasts: Biscuits w/sausage gravy topped with a fried egg; French Toast; Pork Roll; Plain or Blueberry Pancakes. Each of these were accompanied by orange juice, a variety of fruits, coffee and tea.

Alex and Leah Lang, the new owners of The Station Inn are moving forward with an all encompassing multi-phased plan to return the Inn to its former glory while introducing new enhancements such as WiFi and recent refurbishment of the Common Room. It has a refreshed bright look and feel. The new onsite Manager, Pat is a pleasure to work with and she makes sure each guest feels at home throughout your visit!!!

Individual rooms provide ample room for stretching out and what can I say about the Front Porch?! it is The place to watch and talk trains from sunrise to well after sunset.

There are conveniently located establishments nearby for lunch and dinner including Vito's; Brick On Front; Dunnys; Cresson Springs Restaurant and PJ's. In nearby Lilly is the Boxcar Restaurant and in Altoona, make sure to check out Lena's Cafe.

Within walking distance is a Rite Aid, Mainline Pharmacy and Sheetz for any items you may need that you forgot to pack.

If you have an interest in railroading, definitely check out The Station Inn, Cresson, PA.

My first visit since the sale of the Inn. Nice to see Chris back with his wonderful breakfasts. The common room has been brightened up and a new built-in scanner is available on the magnificent front porch. New online room reservations and ability to pay with credit card are additional improvements already seen. If you are interested in the railroad, this is the place for you. Fair warning - you WILL hear the trains go by at night.

Thanks very much, we appreciate your comments! We are looking forward to additional improvements over the next few months. We believe the breakfast experience at the Inn is as critical as the front porch!

Our go to place annually for many years. The rooms are always clean, Chris’s breakfasts are awesome, the front porch viewing (with Wi-Fi and multiple charging stations) is perfect for train viewing and conversations. Wouldn’t mind a few upgrades to the chair cushions but not a big deal. The new dining table is gorgeous. Enjoying getting to know Pat these last couple years - she’s always helpful and available. Hate to miss the 30 year celebration in July but we can only manage one 7 1/2 hour drive each way per year. Will be back in 2024!

We're so glad you had a great time - Thanks so much for letting us know! We have new chair cushions on order for the breakfast table, actually, but hadn't thought about the front porch chairs - so we'll take a look into that! See you next time!

Enjoyed our trip to Station Inn last week with friend and relative. Stayed in B&O room for 3 guests. Pat, the manager, met us and welcomed us, provided keys. I have made numerous trips here for over 25 years. Miss conversations with Tom, the previous owner, but life and times change. New owners have made many positive changes and are still looking at improvements to the 150 year old B&B. Great and filling breakfasts: loads of fruit, pastries and main dishes of pancakes, French toast, biscuits & gravy, eggs. Juices, coffee or tea. Chris does an excellent job in the kitchen and a pleasant personality for post meal conversations.
Lots of trains on the old Pennsy main, now NS. Helper units racing back & forth to Altoona. Saw 5 Heritage units during our stay. Plenty of railfanning spots within a short distance of Cresson.
Lots of rail experts on the porch to help answer your questions. Look forward to next trip

Late July 2022 visited The Station Inn for an annual 5 day get together.

Our accommodations were comfortable, daily breakfasts were outstanding and the onsite Manager and new ownership team made sure we were all having a good visit.

The Front Porch is THE place for watching daily rail activity and to enjoy lively conversations covering multiple topics.

Relaxing and Fun!!!

I just completed my 5th visit over the last six years, and once again my time at the Station Inn did not disappoint! After the passing of Tom Davis, there was a lot of concern about what would happen to this Railfan institution. It is safe to say that the new owner Alex is not only keeping the traditions of the Station Inn going, but also ensuring that it continues to grow for the future! The Common Room has been opened up and improved, the rooms are always clean and comfortable, and the breakfast surpasses any I’ve had at other B&B’s. It goes without saying that you couldn’t get a better view of the West Slope action! Best of luck to Alex and his family as the new owners of the Station Inn, and a huge THANK YOU for giving railfans a home!

The Station Inn is one of our favorite places to stay and watch trains in the mountains. This is our fifteenth stay at The Station Inn since 2002. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and the Inn is located next to the Norfolk Southern three track (ex Pennsylvania) mainline with many trains. Pat the host is very friendly and helpful for your stay. The delicious breakfasts that Chris prepares is fantastic. Plenty to see and do in the area with some nice restaurants nearby. We will return again just as we have since 2002! If you like the railroad action in the mountain grades, this is the place for you!

One of the best places to stay if you enjoy watching trains. Stayed here well over 20+ times and it never disappoints. And Chris will make you a breakfast that you will not need any lunch. Great experience for all that stay there.

If you're looking for laid back style and indulging your love of trains, then this Inn is for you!
Beautiful breakfast, wonderful Innkeeper, clean delightful rooms. It's the type of Inn/Bed n Breakfast that you've forgotten exists in our busy world. We would definitely return even though we were the "non-train people" - a puzzlement to many!
All around A plus!
