We biked from West Newton PA to Cumberland MD, using the Parker House in Confluence as our base station for two nights. Nothing fancy but Mary the owner was very nice and helpful, the rooms were air conditioned and adequate and the shared facilities were great - full kitchen, TV room, books, eating space. No breakfast is provided but a... More

We were riding our bikes on the trail and little did we know that the train from Cumberland to Frostburg MD was going to drop us off several miles from Frostburg due to some track issues. This put us WAY behind schedule and we did not end up getting to the Parker House until after 8:00 PM. Mary gave us... More

I was not sure what to expect. Very nice living quarters with many options for dining in case there are many unrelated groups at the house. There is everything you need, from coffee and cream to clean white linens and crisp blankets. Mary explains all of the little special things about the area and then you are off to your... More

This house was beautiful. I booked the whole house for a family bike trip for 17 people. No worry on being cramped, it was huge. Everyone in our group couldn't believe how nice it was. Close to the bike trail. the only thing that would have made it even better was if breakfast was available. but since we rented the... More

biking the GAP, we stayed here, encountered a rainy day and enjoyed it to the max, many comfy quiet reading spots in the house, settled in with a glass of wine and a good book, great storage outside for bikes, owner let us in early, there is a huge magnificent dining room with tons of windows, this would make a... Over past ten years, my brother and I stayed at the surrounding hotels, condos and resorts with relatively poor accommodations. First off, Parker House's interior modern finishes and cleanliness are on par with Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton with a few antiques and books relevant to the region for interest. The renovation was fifteen years ago, but it looks brand... More

Mary's Parker House is a delightful large home that she has designed for any group that wants to get off the beaten track and enjoy the quietude of the valley. The house has plenty of bedrooms(7), plus wonderful spaces to congregate inside (solarium) and out (patios and porches). Plus, there is the River's Edge restaurant next door that serves delicious... Our group of 5 was doing an overnight biking trip from Pittsburgh to Cumberland, MD, and the The Parker House in Confluence was about halfway. The property and its proprietor Mary were a welcome sight after a long day. The guest house was very spacious in terms of the rooms and common areas. The bike shed behind the house made... More

Mary maintains the perfect B&B. The house is spacious with lots of common areas to congregate. The rooms are also spacious, new and meticulously maintained. In a word, "Wow". Mary no longer provides breakfast. The breakfast choices in town are limited after Labor Day.

It feels disingenuous to call this a B&B since it only has one B but that B was great. Comfortable rooms, nice showers, and plenty of sitting areas and books so you can relax after a day on the GAP. The town's pretty small so it's not hard to get something to eat. Good shed for your bikes so you... More
