We stayed at Tara as part of a retirement trip across the US and back home through Canada. As our 42nd anniversary fell during our trip we planned a stay at this beautiful Inn and absolutely loved every second! From the check in where Nicole wished us a happy anniversary and led us on a tour around the Inn until the wonderful complimentary breakfast when we had to leave the next day, everything was perfect! We got to our room to find a tray with champagne, snacks and a large cookie with our names on it. We toured around and ended up going for afternoon tea which had a lovely assortment of sweet and savoury treats. We met some of the other guests and had a great visit over coffee and tea. Then we went out to the pool area which was great on a very warm day. Dinner was amazing with quite an extensive menu and was made even more special by the two ladies who served us that evening. Kelly and Betsey were absolutely a delight and shared some history and stories about Tara that were very entertaining, all the while doing an amazing job with satisfying our every need. We will remember them for a very long time as they made our special evening even more so. The room itself (Miss Melanie’s room) was charming and so comfortable with a large king size bed and jacuzzi tub. Had a great sleep and awoke to a delicious breakfast….again, a lot of selection. Again the staff was absolutely amazing, making sure every need was met. This Inn is amazing and although I’m not sure how I stumbled upon it, we are sure glad we did! From Canada with love ♥️

Room Tip: Expect to get a little lost as the Inn is large with many rooms, but that was half the fun!

I needed a little weekend getaway and this place is about an hour and a half away from home. It was a clean and comfortable inn with a lot of nice touches such as a welcome basket in my room, a tour of the inn when I arrived and a delicious breakfast each morning. I also went to visit their sister location, The Buhl Mansion, which has a spa. The treatments I got were relaxing and the massage was excellent. I enjoyed my trip very much and am planning on going again.

We spent on night at Tara while travelling from Toronto to Florida. We were very pleased with the warmth and hospitality we received. We stayed int he Butler room which was very roomy and oh so comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Stonewall's tavern and breakfast the next morning was superb. The added touches such as fruit, cheese and champagne were a delight. Not to mention how happy we were to have someone "blow the snow" off of our car!. We hope to return again some day.

Stayed one night as part of our bus trip. Enjoyed a guided tour of the many collections in the home as well as history of the home. Enjoyed afternoon tea with delicious sandwiches and cookies. Dinner was delicious and filling, served family style. Also enjoyed breakfast buffet with hot cakes fresh off the griddle, specialty eggs. Each room is themed and spacious; rustic but modern feel. A real gem to discover

Sunday brunch is fantastic. Select from shrimp cocktail display, caviar, Chef-carved ham, Belgian waffles, omelet station, eggs benedict, chicken marsala, sautéed vegetables and much more. You can walk-off your meal by walking through the gardens or take a tour of the mansion. The service from the staff is superb and everyone in the restaurant was polite and helpful. Evening meal is a bit pricy but a large menu with a great atmosphere.

Thank you for your review. We're delighted that you enjoyed our Sunday Brunch, but wanted to clarify that we do not serve shrimp cocktail, caviar, eggs benedict, or chicken marsala on our Sunday Brunch. We do offer some of those items in Stonewalls Tavern for dinner. Thank you and we hope to see you again soon.

The staff was delightful except one woman at front desk could not explain our bill. We brought our grandchildren for dinner one evening and were charged full adult price They were 4 and 7 years old. The room was not as clean as you would expect. The windows were very dirty and we had to ask for out exhsust fan to be vacuumed. The grounds were very nice.

My husband and I stayed mid-September. We had been given a gift certificate when we got married 25 years ago and thought it would be fun to revisit to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We had a wonderful time. Took strolls around the grounds, enjoyed dinner at Stonewall Tavern. Breakfast was included and it was excellent. Very clean, welcoming staff, comfortable beds, A must visit if you are fan of the movie and eta.

The Tara offers so much more than other bed & breakfasts. The estate has a great location right on Shenango Lake and there are several small towns a short drive away. The property itself is large (we had even been to a wedding there previously), and has large grounds to walk in, a restaurant, a bar, pools, and a number of sitting areas to play games or read or anything else you can think of! The service from the staff is superb and everyone from the front desk to the restaurant was polite and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at Tara very much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice weekend away.

Loved the "Gone With the Wind: theme through out. We had the Miss Melanie room, which was nicely decorated with a large modern bathroom. Enjoyed a walk around the grounds (gazebo, swing, sculptures) and the outdoor pool. Dinner at the Stonewall tavern was excellent. Overall rating- 4.5 rounded up to 5. As others mentioned, there was the sense that they were understaffed, but those employees present and working were friendly and accommodating. I accidently left a small personal pillow in the room and they contacted me and arranged to have it sent back to my home, which was greatly appreciated.
