My wife & I were looking for a place to stop between the midwest and eastern PA. We chose Tara because it looked unique and is not that far off the track from I-80. What a surprise! The place is amazing, like stepping back in time to the CIvil War period. Great dinner and what ammounts to a museum tour through a lot of things from Gone WIth the Wind. Also a lot of statues outside. Very lovely, comfortable room & the best breakfast we have had in a long, long time. Would recommend very highly.
We traveled there last Sunday and had the brunch. Excellent food quality, variety, comfort & service. Afterwards we toured the Inn, inside and outside. Very well maintained. Many flowers, plants, sculptures, walkways to enjoy. Rooms inside are very well decorated with much History. Tons of pistols & rifles on display to enjoy viewing. Will be back again soon!
We had heard lots of nice things and decided to stay for Friday to Sunday. It is a very interesting and eclectic place. Each room is unique. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The grounds have a lot of statues. Many full size Fredrick Remingtons the Inn is like a museum with tons of artifacts. The theme is “Gone With the Wind “ so a lot of movie and Civil War items. Lots of comfortable places to sit and read or knit or relax. Tea at 4 was lovely and Debbie, who is British a wonderful hostess. We were lucky that the weather was nice
My friend and I like to take girls weekends a few times a year. We like to find new B&B's or Inn to explore when we go. We stumbled across this place and were intrigued by the style of home and the Gone with the Wind theme. We figured we would give it a try. First it is a lovely property. When we checked in we were surprised by a glass of champagne and a nice tour of the common spaces by the staff. All the staff is great by the way. In our room we had a lovely welcome tray with lots of goodies and more champagne. It was a welcome surprise and a good way to kick off our weekend. Afternoon tea was a nice treat and we got a chance to meet some other guests that way and have a conversation. Don't worry all was done safely with COVID if that is a concern. The house has some really interesting antiques. There is always something to look at or explore. The room itself was nice. Clean, soft bed, good linens, and a nice modern bathroom . The jetted tub we didn't use but liked the option. We also really liked that their was an onsite restaurant. Breakfast was good (with lots of options to choose from) and loved the paint mural on the wall in the breakfast room. Again service and staff top notch. They even kept my leftovers from dinner in the fridge and gave me when I checked out. Its definitely better and more interesting than just an average B&B with the style and history of the place. The only reason its not a 5 for me is that there are some things that could use a little updating or fix. Like the doors to the room. Our mini blinds were plastic and bent. The fireplace was nice but the tile around it felt like something from the 90's and not in character with the home. Even though the antiques overall were great, some pieces in the room felt a little much and out of place. Still these we had a great time and would recommend and will probably visit again someday.…
Lovely weekend celebrating college friends turning 50! It was a fun getaway with amazing food and excellent accommodations. The brunch was outstanding! The staff was amazing. We enjoyed strolling the property and a very interesting decor. Our rooms were each so different and definitely felt like you were stepping back into the past.
