This was our “getaway” for our anniversary. The staff was wonderful and could not have been more friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was very good and quite plentiful. We had stayed in the Inn a few yrs ago. The new owners did quite a renovation but not sure we completely were excited with all the changes. It does not hold the same “coziness and warmth” as you would expect to find in a B&B. It is charming yet extremely minimalist - extremely. Perhaps many do find this appealing but we did not.
We were so happy with our stay here this weekend. It's a peaceful, sophisticated and elegant inn with a lovely staff. Our room (Carriage House 1) was immaculate and spacious, with upscale toiletries, working fireplace, private deck overlooking flowering fields and garden paths. Wonderful breakfast too! Kudos to the owners Willie and Xio and thanks to Joy and Elena for being so welcoming.
My wife and I stayed here one night in December while attending the Longwood Gardens Christmas Light Show. Although not at the inn very much, our stay was delightful. Nancy at check in was very helpful and Willie and Frances at breakfast could not have taken better care of us. My wife enjoyed talking to both of them about Porto Rico. Oh yes, the breakfast was great and the coffee was to die for. Our room (especially the fireplace) was very nice and we will return to stay there anytime we visit the Brandywine Valley.
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Fairville Inn during the peak of fall foliage in our tour of the Brandywine Valley. Nancy greeted us and made us feel welcome and cared for from the moment we arrived. It was clearly evident that the charming owners, Xio & Willie, had given a great deal of thought to every detail of our stay at their charming B&B, from the elegantly understated decor, to the fresh flowers and personal handwritten note upon arrival, to the luxurious toiletries, to the lovely breakfast each morning. I appreciated the way each of their decor choices communicated attention to detail and outstanding quality. The grounds were simply beautiful and our room, Springhouse 3 was well appointed, with a wonderful rain shower and cozy fireplace sitting area. The location is a short driving distance from Longwood Gardens and the Brandywine River Museum, both of which were spectacular. I highly recommend booking your own personal retreat at the Fairville Inn . . . you won't regret it!…
My husband and I met friends from NYC here as a quick Fall getaway for 2 nites. Very lovely Inn and ideal location to many activities and restaurants. We were welcomed by Nancy who was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating. Perfect hostess. Our room, on the second floor of the Carriage House, lived up to the photos on their web site. Although too chilly to sit on it, there was a deck overlooking the back of the property which is wooded. The room was large and well appointed. The breakfasts were incredible. The oatmeal is to die for. Creamy and quite different from the usual. We were quite happy and will be telling friends about the place.
We stayed in Carriage House 3 and the room was beautiful and very clean. The room had high ceilings, the bed was comfortable and it was nicely decorated. The breakfast they served was great and every day we had a different menu.
This is a wonderful inn. Best sleep I’ve had in a while. The room was beautiful, linens top shelf and very roomy. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic and the innkeeper stopped by to greet us. Lovely in every way! Close to the museum and gardens. I will absolutely be back.
My husband and I booked 2 nights in Cottage 1, based on the pretty pix on their website. When we arrived, we were blown away by how pretty it is. You can see the incredible attention to quality & details everywhere. It's gorgeous in the most simple, understated way. Beds are super comfy & staff and owners could not be more friendly and accommodating. Definitely reccomend 😊
We loved our stay. Very peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Our room was clean, comfortable, and tasteful decorated with a high ceiling. Our room had a deck overlooking a scenic garden and woods. The host Wille was super gracious. We hope to be back again soon.
We paid $350 plus tax for one night in Carriage House 3. Furnishings were simple and utilitarian. The floor in our room as well as those of the public rooms in the Main House were completely bare. In the bedroom, this was merely an interesting novelty, while in the Main House, the hard surfaces amplified even muted conversations beyond comfort levels. The pros and cons of our particular room — your experience may vary — were as follows: Pros: Ample storage space Terrycloth robes Very quiet. sharing only one side wall and no rooms above Strong, free WiFi In-room coffee machine Clean Cons: Water barely lukewarm Low water pressure No easily accessible sockets for charging devices Large uncovered Palladian window which allows full light into the room at dawn Wooden floors imparted a certain austerity to an otherwise "cozy" room My wife and I differed on the quality of the “free” breakfast. She devoured hers, while I found my lemon pancakes doughy and flavorless. The relatively small breakfast room was particularly noisy due to the resonant acoustics I’ve already mentioned. My wife has an undated Fairville Inn brochure from years ago where our room was listed at $135 per night. If I had seen our room, taken into account the amenities, time of year and location and been asked to guess the charge per night, I would have been surprised at anything over $250. I’m not one to stint — I’ll pay top dollar for excellence — but I’ve got to say I found the $350+ we paid challenged my well-honed sense of bang for the buck , For our one-night stay, a king-sized bed and location superseded all other considerations and under similar circumstances we’d consider The Fairville Inn again, but not this room. That Palladian window was as much of a natural alarm clock as a barnyard rooster.…
