Stayed here for the weekend and it was ok. I like that it’s nearby and also close to Gettysburg. Our room was at the Highland Lodge - queen (actually a full size bed). The resort was average, room was clean. There were 2 restaurants in the building. Breakfast at the Eagle and Owl was included- service was very slow- took forever to get coffee. We also had lunch here on the second day- we had a better waitress. There was The Taverna450 right by the entrance of the resort in which we went for dinner. It was excellent with so many choices and great quality food. Ski area was packed, and same with the tubing section. The cafeteria at the Alpine Lodge which was across our building, offered a variety of food - which was better than the normal fried stuff. There was sushi made on site, salads, and deli sandwiches and soups- not bad choices for cafeteria. Prices were pretty high. We took our daughter to the kiddie tubing, they should have a separate line (when going up the hill) for it instead of being mixed in with all the other tubing. The indoor pool was nice - daughter had fun. Other than that there wasn’t much to do at the building where we’re at.

I’ll start with getting our gear went relatively fast. A little jumbled but it wasn’t horrible. My boys took snowboarding lessons the first day we were there. They are 8 & 11. They enjoyed themselves and did learn some tips! I didn’t get the instructors name but it well. Though they were done 10-15 minutes earlier then what we paid for. Which was disappointing. But all in all it went well. The one major issue I think they need to figure out is the “bunny” hill. They only had one side open (the other side was grass) and it was super crowded to say the least. All of the groups with lessons were a third of the way up the hill. With it being the small hill and watching for three days I’d say most on that hill were beginners. Either being taught by an instructor or a parent, or teaching themselves. We witnessed so many people running into other people because there were so many groups getting lessons on the hill. They need to have both sides open. One side for the classes. The other side for the people learning. I knew it’d be busier because of the weekend but that hill was crazy busy. Dangerous in my opinion only because you have tons of people not knowing what the hell they are doing. I’m not sure we’d come back on a weekend knowing only one bunny hill would be open. As for the hotel, the room was fine. We got to our room about 6 pm after a long full day on the hills. We freshened up and went to eat. Get back to our room. Change, brush teeth. Then get into bed. As we’re pulling up the blankets our stomachs sink. There was what looked like blood on the blanket. Right at the top where it would be close to our faces. Yuck! I called the front desk. They brought a new blanket and that’s it. The housekeeper said sorry but the front desk just said we’ll have the housekeeper bring you another blanket. It was absolutely disgusting. Absolutely freaking disgusting. The new blanket smelled like bleach so I was okay with using it but all I could think of was that nasty blood almost in our faces... The food was good at all the restaurants on site. Expensive but that’s what you can expect going to a place like this. Not sure we’d ever stay in the hotel after the incident we had. We’d go on the hills during the week if only one small hill was open. But not on the weekend. Only because we have a couple beginner snowboarders.

I scheduled my son's 7th birthday party at Liberty Mountain Resort for snow tubing. We had 8 adults and 6 kids and all had a fantastic time. We were lucky that it was mild weather (in the 50s) and the snow was still plentiful. As we had an early party time from 10am to 12pm the lanes were not crowded at all. Birthday parties come with a meal ticket for each attendee for pizza (two big slices of French bread-type pizza), chips, a small soda, and ice cream. It's a really good value. We were able to bring in extra outside food (fruit, veggie platter, cupcakes, water and juice) with no problem. My only complaint about the party room was that the contract said all paper supplies would be included, but we were not given any plates other than what the cafeteria food was served on. Just a note to those who schedule to bring some extra!

This is probably the largest resort in this area. It is modern, clean, friendly service, etc. they have good banquet space, nice on location restaurants and bar. A nice fire pit area. They offer golf on location and skiing in winter. The workout facility has plenty of nice equipment and weights. My primary reason for only rating average is that we requested a king room upon booking. We called ahead to confirm such as we would be arriving late. At check in their was no king room for our two nights lodging. We were also then placed in a ground floor room, somewhat dimly lit while our friends had room with balconies and nice views.

My husband and I had an awesome stay. The area is lovely. Very nice accommodations, good restaurant, well maintained indoor and outdoor pools, beautiful landscaping, relaxing fire pit, and outstanding customer service. Spa looked nice but we didn’t use it. Short and pleasant drive to Gettysburg for other restaurants and for the National Park. We will definitely be returning.
