I was pleasantly (and instantaneously) surprised by the graceful Southern hospitality I encountered during an impromptu business overnight stay in Carlisle, PA. As a last minute necessity (after my reservations fell through at a different local B&B), Tim and Carolyn Carlisle welcomed me into their Carlisle Home - as if we knew one another for a lifetime. I will definitely... More

We spent a night at the Carlisle House B&B while visiting our daughter at Dickinson College. The inn is conveniently located in the central part of town. The hosts were friendly and made helpful dinner recommendations. The accommodations were comfortable and the breakfast delicious. We were even offered a gluten-free breakfast option! We can heartily recommend the Carlisle House for... More

My husband and I were drawn to Carlisle for the Spring car auction and were lucky enough to get a room at the Carlisle House. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed every minute! The warm welcome we received upon arrival was our cue that we had picked the right place. Tim and Carolyn have provided all the amenities that... More

The Carlisle House was a great stop for us on a college tour. It's on one of the main streets in Carlisle, two buildings that were combined over time by the prior owner. It's very conveniently located close to Dickenson, many shops and restaurants. Current owners Tim and Carolyn were relaxed, gracious, friendly and very helpful. Our room was very... More

My boyfriend and I stopped at the Carlisle House on our way to Harrisburg from Pittsburgh for an event. It was the perfect location, close to Harrisburg but small, quaint and relaxing. Our room came with a hot tub and a very comfortable bed. We ended up going to dinner at the Belgian restaurant three blocks away and enjoyed the... More

My sister and I spent a wonderful couple of days exploring the Carlisle area, and this B&B was in the perfect location. Right in the historic district, with many attractions: artsy shops, great restaurants, massage, tea house, theater, visitors center... and the Carlisle House B&B had all the comforts: lovely comfortable rooms, beautiful details, scrumptious breakfasts - couldn't have asked... We really enjoyed our stay at the Carlisle House B&B and we look forward to future visits as our daughter becomes a student at Dickinson. The room we stayed in was suitable for a family, but I understand that they have several room options. The hospitality was personable and lovely, but the best part was breakfast, which was excellent. Not... More

What a wonderful find in Carlisle! Tim and Carol were wonderful hosts. The room was lovely and comfortable. The bathroom, especially the shower, were outstanding! Tim makes a mean quiche and almond tart. And awesome dinner recommendations. Too bad our schedule didn't allow a longer stay. Do not however park on the street, use the provided parking in the rear.... More

Picked this one as everything was booked for New Years Eve First Nite Activities. What a great choice! It was so much nicer than staying at a hotel! Centered right with all the activities! Well maintained historic Inn with much history. New owners had some fascinating and entertaining stories of their journey to this new venture for them. Needless to... More
