We chose this hotel due to its great location in the center of Carlisle. Unfortunately we stayed there on Easter Sunday so most of the restaurants in walking distance were closed -- including the one in the hotel (apparently they are currently closed on Sundays, so my oversight in not realizing that). Parking during check in was a bit tight. We arrived in the early evening, at the exact same time as 2 other parties. The Comfort Suites has a driveway that runs between two buildings and leads to a city parking garage (it's a one way, narrow driveway). While you are allowed to "park" in the driveway for a few minutes while checking in, but the car ahead of us chose to park in the middle of the driveway, rather than pulling to the side. Not a big deal, but a note to future guests -- try not to completely block the driveway! Check in was quick and we were placed in a room on the 4th floor overlooking the driveway. The room was quite large with 2 beds as well as a sitting area with sleeper sofa. The room was clean, but the bathroom is in need of a refresh. There is some mold and discoloration around the soap dish, grab bar, etc. A continental breakfast is served in a section of the restaurant and featured the typical foods: eggs, toast/bagels, muffins, cereal, make your own waffles, etc. Nothing special, but totally adequate. Parking is in a city lot and there is a charge added to your bill (fully disclosed ahead of time). You can go in and out as often as you'd like. We had no problem finding a space -- though it was Easter so likely only hotel guests using the garage. There is a back door into the hotel near the parking garage that is controlled by room key. Despite the bathroom needing some work, we would stay here again given the location and room size.…
Just spent four nights in Carlisle at the Comfort Suites and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is located right downtown near bars and restaurants and close to I81 N & S and the PA Turnpike. The hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly, efficient and professional. Tracy was especially helpful with our reservation and during our stay. We'll be back in Carlisle this autumn and will stay here again.
We were delighted with our one night stand here. We arrived late and were greeted by a fine woman who helped us get settled. The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The Breakfast was Very Good. Just short of Gramma's. Hot food is always a treat when you're traveling. Again the staff were very friendly and helpful. Parkin was in a covered parking garage behind the hotel, and there was a Fee added on.
Excellent service, great location, friendly staff, fun bar and fine restaurant, rooms clean and roomy have stayed there before and definitely again when visiting family highly recommended. Thanks for everything
Stayed in April'22 - front desk staff (Sharon) most helpful in accommodating to our needs and advising us on the local sights. Room (2 double beds) was attractive, huge, very clean, and after a minor bathroom issues was quickly resolved by the hotel engineer, we ad a great stay. Great drinks in the bar; family ate there the night before, and really enjoyed their meals. (Fourth stay for our son, first stay for us.)
We had my daughter's baby shower here and I was very pleased w/ how it turned out. Amy Beitler was very helpful and had everything looking good. She would go out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted. Was reasonably priced also. Would recommend
Visiting an old friend and enjoyed our stay here. The staff was helpful, friendly & kind. Room decor was a bit dated, but it was clean & comfortable. Would absolutely stay here again. We do a lot of road trips, and as my title says “ a bit dated” Then again, it’s in a historical area, so maybe appropriate.
Staying to visit ailing family in the area. Hotel staff made the stay pleasant. We were able to convene as a family and play cards at night in the lower level. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Daniela in the breakfast area every morning was attentive and willing to help. Great location downtown with easy access to nearly everything. Would recommend.
Room’s need new wall paper and furniture. The Tiny bathroom needs to be painted. Practically no water pressure in the shower on our first morning. I did tell the front desk clerk about the lack of waster pressure, and that I wanted it repaired. She told me that it would be taken care of. The second morning their was also no water pressure. When we checked out I told the Inn’s manager Tracy, about the lack of water pressure in the shower and that I had reported it. She looked at me and handed me our bill and said, “there you go” with out an apology. The heater/air conditioning unit was extremely loud. We had to turn it off because it was so loud! A homeless person roams the coriander was the icing on the cake. The location is all it has going for it! We will not be staying there again! The restaurant on the other hand was excellent! Ask for Zak! Excellent food and service!…
Love this place..we ate dinner in bar. It was excellent..so was the wine & beer. Beautiful dining room also. The atmosphere of the bar is very nostalgic-Nice it is right in hotel. Also it is convenient to park in parking garage behind hotel. Also when checking in the receptionist was so nice. After a drive of 10 hours it was a welcome relief. Would definitely recommend this hotel..not far off Rte 81.
