I called the Brookview Manor less than a week before my husband and I wanted to arrive. Gail greeted me on the phone pleasantly, and I had a feeling it would be a great place to stay just by talking to her. I was not disappointed.
My husband and I arrived earlier than normal check in and were cheerfully greeted by Gail and Marty both. Gail escorted us to our room personally, and she patiently showed us all of the rooms in the carriage house before we settled in. Our room, number 10, exuded country charm from the moment we stepped inside. A small electric fireplace stood in the corner, and although it wasn’t real, it gave the room ambience at night. The bed was dressed with a bedspread that matched the darling wallpaper and curtains perfectly in the bedroom. The windows offered a lovely view of the barn and forest right behind the carriage house, and they were easy to open in the evening for fresh air. The armoire concealed a TV and DVD player along with some drawers for clothing. The room also had an alarm clock and an old fashioned looking radio. The queen size bed was comfortable, and the pillows were nice as well.
The bathroom was oversized, supplied with wineglasses, and stocked with interesting magazines to read. The bathtub allowed plenty of room for me to sit and soak while relaxing with a glass of wine. The inn doesn’t provide alcohol, but we brought our own wine in a cooler that sat in the bathroom for the duration of our trip. The bathroom looked absolutely darling with the cloth shower curtain and deep red curtains. Our luggage fit nicely behind the bathroom door. The whole room looked as though a professional interior decorator matched everything in it. There was some water damage on the ceiling, but Gail informed us that she hadn’t had time to paint yet since the chimney had to be sealed recently due to a leak.
Marty prepares delicious fresh meals. Our breakfasts were fabulous and included eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit cups, and stuffed French toast over the course of the weekend. My husband and I opted to dine at the Brookview Manor Saturday night, and we were in awe as course after course was delivered to our table. We began with handmade rolls and homemade cheese stuffed tortellini that tasted as though it had been freshly made and imported directly from Italy. The minestrone soup brimmed with fresh vegetables that bathed in a broth so tasty I can’t describe it adequately. Intermezzo tasted wonderful, because I love lemon flavored sorbet. The main dish of salmon presented with zucchini as “scales” impressed me. The salmon was cooked perfectly and seasoned with a Thai sauce. The crème brulee served for dessert tasted as though Marty poured cream from Heaven into a bowl and gently crisped the top before adding a strawberry garnish.
While at this quiet bed and breakfast, my husband and I took a few short drives to local towns to shop and go horseback riding. You have to visit Callie’s Kitchen and buy chocolate and sweet treats there when you’re in the area. We came home with chocolate and other sweets that rivaled many expensive brands. We also visited Pocono Adventures and thoroughly enjoyed an awesome 2 hour horseback ride in the forests of the Poconos. The guides, Karl, Arnold, Jimmy, Joyce, and anyone else I missed, took us for the ride of a lifetime. It poured down rain, but we saw many deer, fawns, and wild turkeys along the trails. I recommend this 2 hour ride for people that get bored riding horses in a circle, because it is a true riding experience.
This bed and breakfast is near many of the tourist attractions in the Poconos. Marty and Gayle welcome guests with open arms, and they offer restaurant recommendations as well as numerous pamphlets with directions to attractions. I can’t wait to return to this delightful bed and breakfast to relax again. There is as little or as much to do around this place as one wishes to. The rooms are lovely, and the location is beautiful. I had a wonderful

After having stayed at a lot of top-rated B&B's all around the United States, I can say with certainty that you will be hard-pressed to find a better value. Every room has its own private bathroom and all the rooms I looked at was maticulously decorated with wonderful curtains and bedspreads, rugs, pillow shams, chairs and beds. If you need acces to a TV, you won't be dissapointe because every room has its own TV and radio/cassette player. If you get hungry at night, you will find a snck basket next to the bed.

Speaking of food, Chef Marty provides innovative cuisine made of fine, fresh ingredients. his dishes are wonderfully presented and the portions are more than generous - his breakfasts will hold you until dinner.

Bring your own booze. Marty and Gaile can arrange for setups - there is no liquor license, and Pennsylvania has no liquor stores - only State ABC stores.

One of the nicest things about the Brookview - rooms are very reasonably priced. If you want a jacuzzi tub - ask for a room in the Carriage House. If you want to watch a movie, ask Gaile to see the list of DVDs they have for loan. If you are looking for area attractions, your hosts will provide wonderful suggestions and directions; while your thinking about it, be sure to go see Mr. Calli's chocolate show

We had a birthday celebration there. We went for the murder mystery weekend. We had no expectation of the place before we left, there were going to be 10 of us. We arrived Friday night and had a blast. Marty and Gerri go out of there way to welcome you and make sure you have fun. The murder mystery was so much fun, they put a lot of time and thought into each character and it shows. Marty is a great chef and we all were amazed by his Greek Lemon and Egg soup. They were also hospitable until the end, part of our group went for a hike after we checked out and those that stayed behind got to sit and talk and have coffee with Marty and Gerri and their family. The rooms are spotless and adorable; very cozy. Don't forget to read the diary by the bed and be sure to add your thoughts to it before you leave.

We had a lovely stay at the Brookview Manor Inn, sat on the huge porch and day dreamed, half the day away, the air was filled with the fraquance of spring and the sounds of the brook were so peaceful. Our suite was luxurious, breakfast was delicious. We already reserved a room for a summer weekend.

I was here for a wedding in the Poconos, and stayed here with a group of friends. Very charming, cute place. Super decorated with amusing Halloween decorations. The room and bathroom (Room #6) were clean and well stocked with pillows, reading material, towels, soap, shampoo, lotion, TV, etc. My only minor complaint was that nowhere on the website did it say that Room 6's bathroom is actually outside of the room - across the hall. Waking up in the middle of the night and having to go to the bathroom, making sure you are dressed appropriately, wondering if you will bump into other guests, is not really that great, especially when you are not expecting to do so beforehand. Breakfast was great and plentiful, and the snack basket next to the bed came in handy.

This was our third time staying at the Brookview Manor in the past few years. Everytime we arrive we are impressed by what Gaile and Marty have done with the place.
This was our first visit around Halloween time and all we can say is WOW! Every inch of the B&B is decorated for the season. It was like walking into an Autumn wonderland. I can't say enough about the food and especially their new restaurant up the road, it was excellent.
This time we stayed in the new jacuzzi suite. It was just what we needed to relax. Again, Gaile and Marty did an amazing job adding modern conviences into this 100 year old mansion. Can't wait for visit number 4!

We stayed at the Brookview Country Cottage for Presidents weekend this past Feb. We booked the Butterfly Room and it was exactly as pictured on the website. It was clean and very nicely decorated. All of the rooms have their own bathroom. The room itself was very very nice. It had a queen sized canopy bed and was very romantic. We had a TV with plenty of channels. The bedding was clean and very comfy. The service was great. We were served breakfast in the dining room each morning and it was absolutely delicious. We also had dinner at My Daughter's Place which is part of the house and the food was great as well. The restaurant has a great decor and a beautiful fireplace. The only complaints that I had were that the bathroom's sink area was very small and our room happened to be 2 floors above the kitchen for the restaurant. It was ok for us as we stayed up late but at around 1am, we still heard pots and pans banging and work going o down there. Overall, this is a beautiful BB, very clean, terrific price, delicious food and very professional and friendly staff. We would definitely be back again.

My family and I have stayed here for 3 New Year's eves and a couple of times during fall foliage. If you ever want to feel right at home with two of the warmest, funniest innkeepers (Gail & Marty) around - this is the place for you. Did I mention the cuisine? Marty is a fabulous chef - his breakfasts and dinners are beyond wonderful. The rooms are beautifully furnished - very comfortable. The overall decor of the inn is just lovely and it has a nice location..convenient to ski areas (Alpine and Camelback), outlet shopping (Tannersville). The innkeepers know all about the area and are more than happy to direct you to local sights, shopping, restaurants, etc. - they give the best directions, too! These two have done a great job and I know why people keep coming back year after year (I'm one of them!)

We had a nice stay at the Brookview Manor on Labor Day Weekend. Marty and Gayle were very friendly and helpful with planning our days. The place was clean and the breakfast was tasty, however, we were dissapointed that the details given on the internet did not match the bed and breakfast once we viewed it for ourself. There was no view of the brook and the bed & breakfast was right "on" not "off" 447. Instead of listening to what we hoped was the creek at night, we listened to cars go wizzing by. In general the B&B was average and therfor overpriced.

Gaile and Marty are great. They're funny, personable, and very helpful. The food is great too, and there's always plenty of it. But our room, and the decor of the inn in general, wasn't so great. The wallpaper was peeling, the bathroom floor looked as though it hadn't been swept in some time, only one shower worked at a time, and the furniture looked a little cheap. Nonetheless, our stay at the inn was pleasant overall.
