Our stay at the Brookview Manor Inn had a very rough start. Our reservation was prepaid so the Inn was expecting us, but after we checked in I was shocked to discover the A/C had not been turned on in our room. We arrived in the evening and wanted to go to bed, but it must have been at least 90 degrees in our third floor room at 10 pm. It took three hours for the room to cool down as the A/C was not very powerful. To top it off, during check-in the innkeeper asked us to turn off the A/C when we leave the room the next day, even though the forecast was 100 degrees and our room was on the top floor. The next morning I had to put my foot down and tell the innkeeper as we were leaving that we couldn't turn the A/C off because the room was close to 100 degrees the night before when we arrived. She actually began to argue, but her husband jumped in and said to just leave the A/C on. It is unthinkable an Inn operates this way in the midst of a July heatwave especially, but the A/C wasn't turned on in the bedrooms for arriving guests, and it is difficult to believe the innkeeper asks guests to turn the A/C off in their rooms in the middle of a heatwave. So if you are planning a summer stay I suggest contacting the Inn ahead of time and insisting the A/C is on before your arrival. After the A/C incident, everything went pretty smoothly and we enjoyed the rest of our stay, although there seems to be a problem with the electric short circuiting. The lights dim frequently, and during a shower the water shut off twice, then came back on within about 10 seconds, but it was all cold at first. The amount of food is generous and the chef obviously takes great care decorating his dishes. We were served plain scrambled eggs two days in a row, so the eggs could use a little dressing up. But overall the breakfast was very good and had a lot of variety with fruit, fresh muffins, waffles or French toast, sausage, and grits. It is an old house and there is no A/C in parts of the building. Since it's in the mountains I imagine the heat isn't usually a problem, but with the summer heatwave the foyer and halls were a bit warm at times. The breakfast room was air conditioned, though. The porch dining room uses open windows with screens, and there is a nice porch swing. The bed and breakfast doesn't have a traditional sitting room, however, only a foyer with a bar. It's impossible not to notice the carpet on the steps to the third floor was quite dirty and should be cleaned or replaced.

We stayed two nights in July 2019. The room #5 was comfortable and everything worked. Breakfast each day was superb. We did not have dinner there. The second night we were there we came back to the Inn and was told that a severe thunderstorm had knocked out the power. But, they had a back-up generator and everything was working AC. lights, fans no problems. We found the personal touch of this B & B was an enjoyable change from staying in a hotel. The only issue was our room was on the second floor and I guess I'm getting too old to be carrying luggage up 32 steps. I needed the exercise anyway. Oh yeah, the price was very reasonable considering what you were getting.

Went to Brookview Manor for our anniversary weekend. Beautiful old home. Gaile and Marty were the nicest friendliest people and made us feel very welcome. Very nice bar and lounge. The restaurant Our Daughters Place is very nice and the food was amazing. Some advice, spring for the larger rooms. We peeked in them and wished we had gotten one. They are huge with separate sitting areas to hang out and watch TV. If we wanted to watch tv in our room we had to sit on the bed and our bathroom was very small. Loved the large porch swing and rocking chairs to just relax. Very quiet at night as well for good sleeping.

Gale and Marty are the nicest people. Felt at home as soon as I waked in. Gale let us walk around and choose what room we wanted to stay in. We chose room 5 which was very cute. Bed was very comfortable. Room was very clean. Breakfast was fantastic. Fruit cup, muffins , scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles. Everything was delicious. Stuffed for the rest of the day. Such a nice out of the way place for a relaxing get away. We will definitely come back.

It is a very nice property and the hosts are very anxious to please. Decently kept quit location in the mountains. Food is very good as the owner is a chef from NY area. I would say at the top of the scale for B&Bs. So if you are with that about as good a selection you can make for the money. Definitely swings towards the romantic side. However, my personal taste is less steps, more modern conveniences (AC, hair dryer, microwave), more privacy (basically the nature of B&Bs is like staying in someone home), more space in facility like a regular hotel has.

We stayed for weekend away celebrating 36th wedding anniversary! The place was quaint, cozy and clean, The staff were very friendly! The breakfast was fit for a king coffee, juice, warm muffins, eggs, sausage and home made waffles. We went to my daughters place for gourmet dinner each night!

This Inn is very much a period piece. The decor and furnishings are all very dated but fit nicely with the feel of the place. It's like visiting your grandmother's house. Very peaceful and inviting. We had reserved the King Suite, room 4,for a three night stay. The room is large and comfortable. The carpet however was worn and stained, in bad need of replacing. The bathroom is in serious need of updating. Quaint and charming is nice, but old and cramped isn't. It is almost impossible to shower in the tiny tub with wrap around vinyl curtain. To make matters worse, the drain was clogged. However, Pat the substitute Innkeeper was terrific. She immediately moved us to room 1, a queen suite, which is lovely with a huge bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our last two nights. The hearty country breakfast was excellent every morning.

This was our first time staying at a B&B. The owners, Gaile and Marty, treated us with love, respect and care. The word hospitality is rooted in Greek words that mean “love” and “strangers”. Gaile and Marty really treat their guests with love and made us strangers feel at home. The first floor is a cozy restaurant that’s open on weekend nights. The food was amazing and we loved our breakfasts. We will be back and spreading the word of their B&B to our friends.

I booked a last minute trip for my husband and I for our 5 year anniversary. Well it turned into a nightmare as our two year old got severely sick and ended up in the er, I contacted Gaile the same day so she would have plenty of time to relist and see if we could get our money back. This is the first time this has happened. My husband and I travel all the time! I emailed and checked the site frequently. She never took the booking down. It looked like the room was occupied the whole weekend and she wasn't booked to capacity. I understand there was a no refund policy but I had emergency and any mother would have done the same for her child. I will never go again.
