We just returned from the MOST WONDERFUL weekend at Glendorn. This was not our first time. It was more OUSTANDING than previous trips in every way. We stayed in John's Cabin. It was located right on the edge of Skipper Lake in the most peaceful setting. It was also walking distance to the Big House and all of the activities that we did over the long Holiday Weekend. The cabin was beautiful. We had a wonderful charcuterie plate when we arrived. Then I was off to shoot Trap and Skeet for the first of many times. Shane, Charles and Jim were the Best. They all helped me improve my shooting. The shooting range and the trap house are so nice. The instruction was very helpful. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up shooting 5 times over the weekend. I would recommend Shane and the guys for a private lesson. They are so knowledgeable in addition to being so nice. I did so many activities that one afternoon it was a pleasure to spend a few hours at the pool and read and nap. My wife and I both had one of the Best massages that we have ever had. The Spa is such a nice and peaceful place. Dinner our first night started of one of the best Foodie weekends we have had in years. I am not sure f the chef is new. However, this was the best food we have ever had at Glendorn. From our first dinner to breakfast today, everything was perfect. The dining area is overseen by Natalia who addressed us by our name and gave us a big hug to welcome us back. She is so sweet and made us feel like we were back home . The restaurant staff was as nice as could be and made sure everything was perfect. The food was out of this world. I did not repeat one main course. However, I had the Morel risotto two times as it was so delicious. The drinks were great they had all my favorite brands. The wine list was also a special one. We had some great wines over the weekend. The best part of al was the Memorial Weekend Buffet. The food was amazing with Tenderloin of beef, Lobster, fish and chicken as well as some amazing sides. Beautiful music by Ade Adu, who we loved our last time at Glendorn. The evening was topped off with an amazing fireworks show!!! O, What a night! I went fly fishing this time. I had the best morning with Ryan. We fished at the ponds, the lake and the streams. It was awesome and I had not fished in 15 years or more. I caught 10 fish and only fished in the morning. It was so much fun. I hiked every morning on the rock roads and trails. They are great. I got some very good elevation and was able to do 5 miles or more early each morning. there are hikes for everyone from beginning for my wife to more advanced for me. My wife loves the gift shop and came home with many goodies. I got some cool Orvis items and Glendorn baseball caps. I can't thank the team at Glendorn enough for the most incredible weekend. You make your guests feel like family! Thank you! I recommend Glendorn to anyone who wants a one of a kind experience!!!…
First time staying at Glendorn and a Relais & Chateaux property. It was a splurge, no doubt. My husband and I stayed in the Green Room, which along with the bathroom was very spacious, and we found the bed to be quite comfortable. The radiator by the bed does gurgle loudly, so if you’re a light sleeper bring earplugs or use white noise. It is really a charming room and set apart from the main lodge enough that it felt very private and quiet. We shot sporting clays with Charles and he is not only a super guy but a good and patient teacher. We also met Shane and Jim, who were equally welcoming. Anyone doing an activity with them is in excellent hands. Breakfasts were fantastic, as was the local maple syrup. Dinner in the main room had a very nice ambience, especially the first night, when we sat directly in front of that gorgeous fireplace and watched a light snow shower outside the window. We did wish the dinner menu changed more, as it had the same entrees and dessert during our stay, but we did enjoy the food, though slightly underwhelming. The dress code is “smart casual,” so you don’t have to break out the jackets or formal wear, but we did notice everyone stepped it up from daytime wear, which made the setting feel more special. Each and every team member we encountered was professional, friendly, and helpful. For those like us who use a card or app to pay for everything -- bring cash for tips and note the service charge added to each bill is not a gratuity. A note about connectivity: The wifi did not work in the room for us, but it did just on the other side of the wall, in the small den available to all guests, which is a cute little room to sit in front of the fireplace with a drink and a book. It also worked in the rest of the main lodge. Our phones, however, did not work as soon as we entered the main gate – NOT a knock against Glendorn, just a heads up for others (we have AT&T).…
I just returned from Glendorn with my two kids. This is our 4th time at Glendorn and we keep coming back because there is really no place like it. I have stayed in the Miller Cabin with my husband which is great for couples, and Jill's cabin. Both our beautiful but if you have kids, the Jill's cabin is a perfect layout with the master suite on one side of the cabin and the kids suite on the opposite end connected by a dining room and living area. If you think you will miss all those modern day amenities, think again! You have plenty of space to unpack with the large closets and built-ins. The bathrooms are original from the 30's but the sinks are big, the heaters heat up the room in minutes and the lighting is perfect. I actually prefer the older style fixtures. The staff at Glendorn make you feel like family and are willing to help in any way they can. If you are planning an excursion, Shane and Charles are the absolute best. From fly fishing to ice fishing to skeet and trap, these two outdoorsmen know their stuff! This was my first time using the Forest Spa and Beth is a truly gifted therapist. I highly recommend heading there to unwind. The food at Glendorn is top notch. Whether you eat at the lodge or have food delivered to your cabin, it's delicious. From the freshly baked pastries in the morning to the fresh meats and fish selections and dinner, you will not go hungry. A special shout out to Victoria who makes a mean old fashioned and went out of her way to make every kitty cocktail on the menu for my kids to try. I cannot say enough about the staff here, they are so hard working. From building fires for us in the cold at night so we can have smores at our cabin fire pit to filling our cabin with fresh cut wood for our fireplaces. They just go above and beyond. Thank you to Judy and Elizabeth in the office who greeted us upon arrival and saw us off at departure with a packed lunch for the car. My family and I will be back because of the excellent treatment you get here, not to mention the beautiful surroundings that truly make Glendorn a magical place.…
Outstanding experience in all regards. Property and lodge are beautifully maintained. Guest room was magical. Food was outstanding. And the service was world class. Amazing range of outdoor activities including an Orvis fishing experience. Highly recommend.
First rate experience! Every one of the staff at Glendorn was amazing- as were the accommodations, meals, and activities! Service was spectacular, every need was anticipated. The staff set up a private dining experience for us in the Skipper Lake house, which was awesome!! Thank you to Charles, Amy, Judy, Shane, Emily, and Kyle. We can't wait to book our stay for the Fall of 2022!!
Highly recommend! Best resort/hotel experience we ever had. Staff was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely kind. Best food I've had in a long time - pastries tasted better than if they were made in paris! I even bought one of the robes since I loved it so much. The resort is very unique and nostalgic of the time it was created. Great that most of the activities are included and the ones that were extra were above fabulous and worth it! We can't wait to go back and see what it is like in a different season. We love that they offered a discount to honor military/triple a members. A hidden gem!
Everything at The Lodge at Glendorn is first rate. The cabins are beautifully decorated and appointed, extremely clean and situated perfectly within the woods. The food at the Main lodge is beautifully prepared and presented. The wine list and cocktails are first rate. The activities guides know their stuff and make everything so much fun and enjoyable. The massage therapist is terrific. The setting is stunning. We have been here in winter and summer and highly recommend it. we cannot wait to go back.
Our family has enjoyed staying at the Glendorn several times. The property (located in northwest Pennsylvania) is unique in it’s history and natural beauty. The accommodations are a wonderful blending of past and present. For those that truly enjoy the outdoors this is a must visit. Food and beverage don’t disappoint. The kitchen staff does a remarkable of tailoring cuisine to the geographic area. The staff are exceptional. Friendly, helpful, and truly hospitable. We look forward to returning each year to connect with those long tenured as well as meet new faces. The Glendorn has become a “happy place” for us and we’ve been fortunate to spend time there in all four seasons.
We love Glendorn. Exceptionally relaxing, excellent meals served meticulously by friendly staff, and lots to do orchestrated by a wonderful activities team. We went snowshoeing, curling, ice fishing, clays shooting and some enjoyed massages at the spa. And to top it off, a great wine list. This is a special place that we'll return to for years to come.
We have been going to Glendorn for about 11 years. It is one of my favorite places to visit. I had the pleasure of going there this past weekend with friends to celebrate my birthday a wee bit early. It was an amazing experience from the front desk staff who take care of all of your requests to the activities Shane always makes our time special. The guys had a blast shooting as did some of the ladies. The food by Chef David was beautiful and delicious!!! I need to go on a diet now. Breakfast and lunch were a delight I still can’t believe how much we ate! The staff is incredible Natalia, Amy, Alex, Kyle, Jenn, Austin took amazing care of us. I know I’m forgetting some names so please forgive me. The spa services were awesome our guests loved how beautiful the spa was and said the massages were fantastic. We stayed in Richards cabin which is just so great for a big group. The addition of golf carts was so fun and made it easier getting around. Natalia and her staff made my birthday party in the playhouse like a dream with fires burning candles balloons the whole weekend was like a dream filled with laughter! Im so grateful for my friends who came and Glendorn for all it’s magic! We can’t wait to return!…
