Nestled in a convenient location, the Bird-In-Hand Family Inn is celebrated for its proximity to local attractions and shops. While rooms are acknowledged for their cleanliness and comfort, some guests suggest they could benefit from modernization, noting occasional noise and pests. The Inn's inviting ambiance and family-friendly amenities, including pools, mini-golf, and a petting zoo, are often highlighted, although opinions on value vary, with some questioning the pricing. The service garners positive comments for the staff's warm and helpful nature, despite minor organizational hitches.

This is a great location to stay and enjoy lots of local Amish sights and businesses. We felt so relaxed here. All of the staff is super friendly. The rooms and property was exceptionally clean and decorated nicely. We saw staff working in the evening also. There is a nice area to walk around outside with a fire pit, petting farm area, pond and miniature golf area. There is a large outdoor pool with 2 indoor pools and a large indoor hot tub.

4.5 star review- Our family stayed a week at this Inn and had a wonderful time! The beds are comfy, the air worked perfectly, the location is amazing and all the things on property to do are great! Our kids used the pools many times, we mini golfed, walked around the little pond and looked at all the koi fish, used the playground, etc. However, we traveled with my elderly mom with mobility issues and this hotel isn't equipped well enough for that situation. There are no automatic doors and the equipped rooms aren't equipped well enough. The bathrooms should have more space and the showers should have more bars and better placement of the one bar that exists. The busses for the included tour are not wheelchair equipped. The one additional issue I had was that our room had ants. If a cup was left on the nightstand, table, or bathroom sink area, there were ants. Also, to me, it's sort of strange that a hotel tells people basically they have to be in their rooms at 10pm but it's their property. With all this being said- we would definitely stay here again. They have their hands full right now with all the issues that have happened so be patient with them. Staff was always very nice and helpful, the hotel was clean (just needs some updating), and the setting is pretty.

Our first visit to Bird in Hand Family Inn was in 1982 with our 2 children. It was our favorite family destination for many years. When our children were grown we went as a couple or with friends. We had a 20 year break after purchasing a vacation home. Seven years ago we returned with our daughter and grandsons and had a wonderful time. This year we were finally able to return as a couple. We chose a room in the front building so we would be closer to our car as my husband has mobility issues. We stayed in one of the updated queen rooms and it was roomy with 2 queen beds and a sofa where we could both sit comfortably. There is a dual sink vanity separate from the shower and toilet., floor length mirror, and a lighted closet. The room was spotless, as always. Bird in Hand properties are known for their cleanliness. The grounds are colorful and well maintained. The staff is friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. As we are “senior citizens “ I can assure others you will be well satisfied with your stay at Bird in Hand, as well as others of all ages.

Customer service is great! The ladies doing our reservations were so accommodating and when we called a day after returning home about a jacket left in the room, they found it and are shipping it back to us. The property was so pretty and well maintained. The location is perfect with restaurants and shops within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again!

Please have fresh BREWED coffee / tea available (eliminate in room coffee equipment unless your customer surveys indicate differently) as well as the local/national newspaper in one location such as the reception office all days including Sunday's..
In good weather, it's a pleasure to relax on your front lawn or porch with a beverage etc. I like to walk rather than drive to your restaurant.
Staff - At reception only it would be nice to have the greeting staff that identify with the theme of the area in character and of Pennsylvania Dutch Vernacular rather than Asian or ?

I’ve been coming to the Bird-In- hand Family Inn for several years. Unfortunately, For the rate, I was very disappointed in my stay. The room air conditioner is so noisy. I had a difficult time sleeping as did my friend in the next bedroom. When I took a shower, The water temperature was sporadic, one minute it was comfortable and then would get cold, back to Warm butmost of the time cold. Same situation in the other room. The floor in the shower was very slippery , Same thing with the room next-door . Their restaurant is under Repair so they offered breakfast in another building. It was just OK, but I wouldn’t recommend it. It was disgusting to see breakfast sausage floating in water🤮. To get to the temporary dining area, we went from one end of the building to the other and down what seemed like at least three flights of steps. There was no easy way to get to that facility. the pool area was nice and they do have three pools to choose from however it looked like only 2 were in operation. They do offer a very nice two hour bus tour of local areas That was very informative. I realize they have 2 areas under construction , but overall, I felt it was overpriced for the quality of the facility and food.

This was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The fiberglass tub was sparkling as if it had just been bought. The convenience of a restraunt within walking distance is priceless. The fact that they allow you to purchase dinner and breakfast meal plans is great as they give you a $5 coupon off to use at the bird in hand bakery. Who does that!! Wonderful place and very quiet.

I want to start my review off with my thoughts and prayers are with the employees and family of the Bird and Hand Inn. Our first night of our stay their Family Dinner hand a 2 alarm fire after the devastating explosion a month ago!

With that said and I actually hate even typing this. Our room was less then a football field away from the diner and we had no clue that it had caught fire over night and slept right through it. The Blackout Curtains really do blackout all the distracting light and from your room at least ours 225 you can not hear any noise from the outside! The room was very clean had a mini fridge, Keurig and microwave. We had the updated room!

Con of room: Beds not soo comfy very springy and bathroom a little small!

Property Pros: Staff always happy to see you and great you. Give amazing suggestions on where to go or eat. 2 hour farm tour Verna was amazing love her she always takes you somewhere new. ( Have stayed at a sister property). Two indoor pools and a hot tub.
Small arcade.

Outside when weather is good they have a small petting zoo, basketball court, walking path around a pond, mini golf and fire pit. Just to name what I seen.

Con’s: Pools and hot tube could use some tlc. Outdoor doors should lock and room keys should have to be used to get into building. Sometype of Continental breakfast even if it’s just cookies donuts.

I will be back again even if it one of their sister properties. Or with them! The Pros will always out the Cons! JUST REMEMBER EVERYTHING in Amish country closes around 6:30-7pm!!!

The staff at the front desk was wonderful and very accommodating. She even left the pool open half an hour later so that our children could swim. However, the hotel room itself was dated and the bathroom was extremely small. I noticed what appeared to be black mold on the bottom of the bathroom door. Coffee is not available in the lobby in the morning; instead, you have to use the single serve machine in your room.

I loved how the sink is not in the same room with the toilet and shower. That way one can do their hair or brush their teeth while the other showers or uses the room. Speeds up time so you can do more things and faster. The buffet (breakfast & supper) was out of this world. So many amazing choices. Everything was so good. A bit expensive, but worth every penny. So convenient to walk from our room to the meal. Gift shop to look at if you arrive late to the meal and there's a waiting line. We didn't get to the pool but we walked down to it and it looked very warm and inviting. Next time we'll get there. Free coffee in the lobby for Sunday morning when you head out - no breakfast on Sunday. Everything was so convenient and lovely. Wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!

We didn't stay in the pool building. We did walk through the ground floor to get to the laundry, and the smell was not noticeable.
