We stayed here last week while we were visiting nearby Ricketts Glen State Park. Best part of our stay is that is very close to the park. Owner and family very friendly. I enjoyed my breakfast very much. The room on the other hand was lacking a night stand, the in-room coffee pot was a little gross so I went without and there was not much room to move around very large bed, The bathroom was huge and for the most part fairly clean. In my opinion a little overpriced at $194.25 but I guess you're paying for the proximity to the park. I think next time we'll stay a bit further away in Bloomsburg,
I was looking for a place to stay close to Ricketts Glen State Park. I was concerned about COVID. This place was perfect. They had rooms with an outside entrance. A cute little porch with rocking chair and little bistro seating. There was a jacuzzi tub with sea parade shower. There was apple cinnamon banana bread in the fridge upon arrival. Room had coffee machine, tea kettle with multiple flavors of tea and every form of sweetener you could imagine. Breakfast was brought to our porch each morning. Fresh fruit( very sweet), oj, eggs, bacon, and home fried potatoes one day. Stuffed French toast, sausage, and eggs the next. All delicious. They had the fixings available to build a fire in the fire ring and to make s’mores. Yum. Very relaxing. Best part was it was about 5 minute drive to the park. Spectacular hiking with 22 waterfalls. Laura and Mike ( and the girls) were gracious hosts.…
Stayed here while hiking in Ricketts Glenn State Park. The owner was friendly and I got to feed the goats! The Deer Room was sizable for two people and the bathroom was huge. There was a shower and a jetted tub. There was the ability to have an air conditioner or a space heater, although the room temp was perfect without either (the owner made sure to check the temp was good for us!). The bed was comfortable (we brought our own pillows, although some are provided). There is a deck with chairs so you can enjoy the sun, and there was a massive fire pit in the yard (which we used, and the owner provided us with a s’mores basket and the fire wood!). The food was delicious! It was homemade and the owner even made us some banana bread. Would stay here again!
This was our first stay here. Clean, great pine smells, comfortable sitting areas and private rooms with bathrooms. Laura, the owner, is friendly and personable and cooks an absolutely wonderful breakfasts, different each day. Plently of warmth, hot water, tv in our room, we would not hesitate to stay here again. Close to Ricketts Glen State Park, and close to the Auto and Air Museum, and Eagles Mere.
I had such a lovely experience here. Laura is an amazing hostess and the house and surrounding property is absolutely gorgeous. She also has adorable goats, ducks, chickens, dogs, and a cat on the grounds. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs some quiet time to rest and relax. There are also a lot of great hiking trails in the surrounding areas. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and will likely go back in the future!
