Clean, roomy, stocked with stuff, great linens, really lovely kitchen with modern appliances. WiFi was strong and consistent enough for me to work on email and zoom simultaneously. The place i had - the brown cottage is really great for two couples or a family of 4. And breathless views!
Excellent hospitality by hosts Ann and Tom. Welcomed with a note and a blueberry moon pie. The home was very clean, and cozy. The kitchen updated and comfortable with a counter top/ seating area. Two bedrooms on the 2nd floor both with queen size beds. Two small pullouts on the first floor. A bathroom located on the first floor and a second bathroom on the 2nd floor. Everything you needed was well stocked and by the cleanliness the hosts were very mindful of covid19. Felt very safe. If I were to visit this area again I would definitely stay here. Thanks Ann and Tom.
Most amazing comfortable getaway with such Gracious Hospitality. Tom and Ann are the sweetest friendliest hosts you may ever encounter. If your looking for beautiful, peaceful and relaxing getaway this is the place to go.
We had a late summer getaway last year and stayed here for a weekend. It was an absolutely lovely stay from start to finish! From the handwritten welcome note, local treats and beautiful homey cottage to the extremely hospitable hosts with answers to all our questions, we felt at home instantly and pampered throughout. My daughter has asked when we can go back and we hope to do so this summer!
My husband and I decided at the last minute to turn a family birthday celebration 3 hours from home in Belleville into an over-night mini vacation. We lucked out when the Hill Store Guest Cottage was available that night only. Ann and Tom, the owners, are the most hospitable, lovely, warm couple you could imagine. (Tom had me laughing from the initial phone call all the way until we left the next morning!) They welcomed us by not only showing us to the cottage where they had put a welcome note on our front door and left a lovely card on the table, but they took the time to give us a tour of the entire building along with sharing the family history. What an amazing place! We couldn't have enjoyed our time more. The cottage is peaceful and quiet; you can hear the sound of Amish horse and buggies clopping by. Absolutely lovely. We will come back many more times! We feel like we have made some great friends. A real treasure!…
I recently spent a week in the Greenwood Guest Cottage and had a wonderful stay. The cottage was quiet and comfortable and Ann and Tom were great hosts. Ann was kind enough to drive me to Greenwood Furnace State Park as I was on foot and both Ann and Tom were helpful in pointing out places of interest. After a week in California my week in Belleville was a welcome break! Thank you Ann and Tom!
Christmas with family and friends, both old a new, in beautiful Kishacoquillas valley, Pennsylvania, was a wonderful experience. This was in no small part due to Ann and Tom’s hospitality during our stay at Hill Store cottage. We stayed there three nights, the accommodations are interesting, historic, and comfortable, with all the modern amenities one could want (although you can ignore them if you prefer to just enjoy the 18th century cottage life). Surrounded by beautiful hills and farmland, one wakes up to the clip-clop of Amish buggies going by in the morning. The hosts, Tom and Ann, are super-knowledgeable about the area and local activities and destinations. Tom filled us in on the history of the valley and the color coding of the buggies. After a few days, we almost felt like locals. Several great food options are nearby if you want to skip cooking (although the kitchen can handle a Christmas Day dinner!) with the Whitehall Store just a couple of miles down the road offering local baked goods, soups, and amazing hoagies. If you’re up for a slightly longer drive, we can also recommend the Honey Creek Inn/Diner in Reedsville for a classic local diner experience. Last but not least, we got family and friends together Christmas Day in the function room (the old storefront) at Hill Store, and it’s an awesome space for a a comfortable, unforgettable event. Lots of great general store antiques and conversation pieces to look at, and ample space and accommodations for a large group and for serving food and drink. A wonderful experience alltogether, and we are definitely coming back soon. Thanks Ann and Tom!…
re-routed our trip home from canada to stay in this beautiful valley of pa...enjoyed meeting our host's despite arriving a couple hours later than planned...we stayed in the greenwood house and the location was perfect!...we all slept comfortably and the house was big enough to spread out and relax...we were here for the amish folks and to admire the farmland...the yellow, white and brown toppers are quite a sight!...this area is much less commercial than amish communities in ohio and lancaster, pa...we enjoyed our stay @ the greenwood house and admiring the hard work and dedication to farming in the big valley!...
Tom & Ann we’re fantastic hosts. We had a wonderful stay that we shared with with our Amish family. The rooms were darling, rustic yet all modern conveniences. We loved the decor. Ann was also very helpful in scheduling a visit to the local Amish medical clinic. Thanks so much!
We had a wonderful stay at the Hill Store Guest Cottage. We truly hope to have the opportunity to stay again. The cottage was cozy, relaxing, adorable, and perfect for what we were looking for. Both Tom and Ann, the hosts, could not have been nicer or more welcoming. Waiting for us in the kitchen were homemade half moon pies, which were an unexpected special treat, and we actually went to the Amish bakery to purchase more to take home with us! Thank you again.
