Detailed Reviews
Location is wonderful and hospitality, even better. We stayed in the third floor Governor's suite which was perfect for us as it has a separate room where we could set up our baby's pack and play for sleeping. Breakfast is made to order, we ate in the lovely back garden and there was an outdoor playhouse where our kid could enjoy herself. Nancy helped us with any requests including a late checkout which was fantastic. Rooms contain antiques and fragile items so be prepared to keep an eye on your kid. Water, snacks, coffee machine included. Could not think of a negative thing to say if I tried.

This room was booked for my by a local. They said it was a cool place to stay and central to the town and close to State College. When I arrived I was greeted by Nancy, the owner. She immediately showed me around her collections of Knick knacks and so much other interesting stuff. She was so informative and interesting to listen to (I found this out so much more over the breakfasts and just talking with her and her husband).
The room was private, quiet and very comfortable (we stayed in "Nancy's attic") on the 3rd floor. My only complaint was the mattress was a little stiff for me. That's a matter of preference, not a complaint.
The breakfasts were made in her kitchen. Home made breads and other fantastic plates were delivered by her and her stories. Meeting other guests was a treat but honestly the only time we saw or even heard them was a breakfast and around town.
Nancy also turned us on to a small event happening in town and invited us to join her and her husband.
Overall, it truly was an amazing experience and cannot wait to travel back.
Thank you, Nancy!

Room Tip: Nancy's attic was great but also looked at the other rooms and a guest house.

During the Covid crisis, Fall of 2020, my husband and I found ourselves making the difficult decision to do some traveling – our mission was to drive round trip from MA to KY, bringing my Mom back to live with us. I looked at the return trip for the 3 of us, and weighing the options, decided that renting Virginia’s House, a separate part of The Queen, would be our best choice. And indeed, it was wonderful. Nancy met us as we arrived and led us in her car to the house, she was super hospitable, even offering that her husband could pick up groceries for us. We had our simple dinner in the dining room, took showers, slept well, and left after breakfast the next morning. All was well – until I realized we had packed one of the Virginia pillows and brought it home with us! One again, Nancy was most kind, and generous, suggesting we just let it be – I couldn’t quite do that and did return the pillow. Our true, lasting feeling is that we’d love to visit again, take the time to enjoy the very cute town of Bellefonte, and try some of Nancy’s cooking!

The Queen lived up to her reputation as a charming and welcoming B&B in the heart of the well maintained Victorian sector of Bellefonte. Close to Penn State University but far enough away to hold a separate and unique lifestyle. Nancy as hostess is engaging and especially accommodating. When I stay in central Pennsylvania in the future, I will definitely stay there.

Entered into a Victorian world as we walked through the door! Quaint gift shop with a directory of anything we needed to know about the area. Nancy enthusiastically showed us the unique attractions in the sitting room and we each played a song on the player piano! The room was such a lovely get-a-way.... (our) Nanny's Attic had beautiful paneling and a very nice view. The bed was so comfy and the design of the bathroom was just perfect. We really enjoyed the walks around the neighborhood as well as the gardens on the property. The fountain on the patio was the gathering place for many honeybees about which Nancy excitedly gave many fascinating details. Oh, and elegant breakfasts too! Bellefonte is a truly lovely and rare town that celebrates its' heros and heritage. So many mansions and noteworthy architecture. Everything about it was extremely relaxing!

Location is in beautiful area of mansion homes, less than miles from the town walk, stores and restaurants (Governer's Pub excellent food). Also near is Penn's Cave, which is a must see (if you're capable of climbing about 40 stairs). The innkeeper goes above and beyond to make her guests comfortable and happy. The gardens have every flower you think of and I totally appreciated the experience of watching Nancy ( innkeeper), smoke the bees in order to remove honey trays and give us honey sample off the comb. The breakfasts were tasty with fresh grown herbs and just picked berries. During pandemic, this was good escape while still practicing caution.

A truly unique and fascinating stay at The Queen, in the heart of downtown Bellefonte. A beautiful historic, Victorian home, with lots of decorations that will take you back in time. Does a child even know how to play jacks? Lots of antiques to admire! Nancy was truly an outstanding host, and I must admit, a better cook than me. Every breakfast was made with love, with fresh edible flowers, and succulent blackberries from her garden, to fresh edible mint. We were served outside , with the beauty of her garden, and lots of bees surrounding the water fall, to take water back to the queen Bee, as Nancy told us she is not allowed to go over 90 degrees. Curt, her husband , made the best homemade bread I have ever tasted, with tasty jams to pile high on the bread. I would recommend anyone who wants to be pampered, to stay with Nancy and Kurt. A Wonderful stay, from beginning to end.

The owners were so friendly and went out of the way to make sure we had a great trip, even recommending shops and restaurants. Breakfast was lovely and included locally grown fruit, and the room we stayed in was adorable. I dare you to take a soak in that tub and feel anything but pure bliss. Exactly what I was looking for in a B&B. Thanks!

We were treated like royal guests by the lovely owner/host Nancy. They have restored this Victorian home true to the era with many fine details. The bed was very comfortable and “Ann”room had many nice details and provisions (like chocolate and bath salts). Nancy provides an excellent breakfast and great story telling on the history of her Queen/home of 46 years. We will be back again.

Nancy is the consummate innkeeper; with all the restaurant choices, sightseeing suggestions etc you would want! She truly enjoys all of her guests and it shows. We can't say enough about the extravagant breakfests she serves you: with berries and honey from her garden. We just loved the Creme Brulee french toast. Happy Valley is nice but you can really enjoy Victorian Bellefonte by staying @ The Queen
