Had a very peaceful stay on top floor with my husband for one night. We chose here because we could walk to all things in town. Breakfast was great and bountiful. Quite room and all the amenities you would expect.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at this establishment for the first time. We were the only guests in the entire place and were treated so kindly. The bed was comfy and we had access to the porch where I enjoyed early morning coffee which is available 24/7. The generous breakfasts were delicious and served by the owners mom whom we enjoyed chatting with each morning. She set us up in front of the fireplace and we even had snow one morning! The town is walkable and so cute. The surrounding area has many other activities to enjoy also! I highly recommend a visit, we will be back!!

Seriously, I was expecting cereal and maybe some eggs on toast. But what I *got* was coffee, apple cider (from a selection of juices) a yogurt/fruit cup, sausage, bacon, tomato & spinach frittata, *and* ancient grain pancakes with sautéed apples & fresh whipped cream. I did my best but I couldn't finish it all! The room (really a mini-suite) was nice (Thaddeus) but I would've loved it more if it weren't for a second door near the bed that was right beside an exterior door - people passing through it woke me up in time for breakfast, at least! They probably can't do much about it, considering the building was constructed in the 1700s. Mildly annoying, but not enough to make me knock off a star from the overall rating. I'll definitely be back, but will probably choose another room next time. There's also a restaurant in the main dining area in the evenings, as well as a pub at ground level - if you're looking for somewhere to hole up for a weekend & not go anywhere else, this would definitely be the place! Just be sure to put in a reservation for the main dining room as soon as you can, like the day before.

There is no way to describe the level of excellence that the Golden Eagle provides to each and every person that walk in their doors. The service is incredible, the drinks are amazing! Above all you have the owners, Tom and Mary Jane that embody everything a business should be. In a quaint town with what would seem to be limited in ways to WOW an experienced traveler, they leave no stone unturned. The Golden Eagle will always be my first stop when traveling in PA!!
