This is a wonderful house to enjoy Bedford and relax for a few days. Steve and Lynn are wonderful hosts. Lynn provided excellent culinary delights for breakfast and Steve was a wealth of local history. The house is beautiful as well as the gardens and landscaping.

My girlfriends and I were looking for a place between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia to meet and spend 2 days of low key reminiscing while having a good meal or two. Bedford seemed to be a quaint opportunity and this B&B/Inn looks fit the bill wonderfully. We were able to park our car and walk to most destinations (i.e. Restaurants and... More

We stayed for 2 nights and had the most amazing & relaxing time! Steve and Lynn were so kind and generous and we loved our conversations with them! They made sure we had everything we needed and knew what the best places to eat and visit in the surrounding areas were! Lynn made us the most delicious blueberry baked french... More

I met a friend for a spa weekend and spent the night at The Chancellor's House. It was an absolutely charming, clean and comfortable place to stay. Steve and Lynn were welcoming and friendly hosts, sharing the history of the home as the former University of Pittsburgh's Chancellor Bowman's residence. In the morning, Lynn prepared her delicious ricotta and lemon... More

We had a very nice time at The Chancellor's House. We were in in Bedford for a family gathering and stayed the weekend. Everything about our stay was perfect. Lynn and Steve could give a clinic on running B&Bs. Each morning we woke to delicious full breakfasts with delicious fruit, juices, coffee and tea, homemade breads and wonderful entrees (a... More

We were just passing through Bedford and only stayed one night, but wished it had been longer. The owners are very welcoming, and the home is beautifully appointed. it was built in 1875, but has been so well maintained it is hard to believe it is that old. The owner gave us a tour of the home upon arrival. The... More

I recently stayed overnight in Bedford and I was looking for something a bit different from standard motel room accommodations. The property is lovely inside and out. My hosts were gracious and offered several recommendations for dinner that night. Unfortunately, I was only able to eat at one of them! Unlike the other area B and Bs, The Chancellor's House... Located in walking distance of Bedford shops and restaurants. Elegantly furnished with gorgeous antiques and contemporary artwork -- not awash with quasi-Victorian fru-fru like some historical B&Bs. Lynn and Steve are gracious hosts, and offered us wine and cheese and enjoyable conversation in their family room before we headed off to dinner. If you are visiting during the winter months,... The house and rooms are beautifully maintained and impeccably cleaned. The area is safe and quiet and they have a beautiful garden and wrap a around porch. We had a chance to enjoy wine and cheese on the porch with the owners, who were both a pleasure to hang out with. Breakfast is served in the morning -- and the... More
