130 year old English Tudor mansion which is cradeled in the Pocono Mountains invites you with crakeling fireplaces, gourmet breakfast and much more. Built by lumber and ice baron, Albert Lewis, Bishwind has a rich history. Its lake side location with views of a waterfall allows one to relax and enjoy nature.
We arrived on a snowy, bitterly cold night and was greeted by the innkeeper and a warm surrounding. The wood stove in the kitchen was burning, soft lights were giving the beautiful home a nice glow. The house is amazingly beautiful and the Bear's Den room was cozy and warm. We slept great. The next morning's breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed having the place to ourselves and felt fortunate to get to speak to the innkeeper and laugh over breakfast. Afterward we walked around the beautiful frozen lake. Definitely recommend!

My husband & I spent a relaxing weekend unwinding at Bischwind. A perfect get away. Billie is the perfect host - not over bearing and attentive at the same time. All details were taken care of - rooms well appointed and beautifully decorated, breakfast was incredible & estate well kept. Common spaces are inviting and comfortable. If you looking for a cozy, quiet get away - this is your destination!

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous stay at the Bischwind for our 20th anniversary. The hospitality was exceptional from start to finish. Billi, the owner was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was delicious! We stayed in the Wolf Den and it was perfect! Spacious room, extremely comfortable king sized bed. Charming in every way. My husband had called Billi ahead of time to arrange for long stemmed roses and chocolates to be in our room upon arrival. The roses were, in all honesty, the most beautiful I have ever seen and the chocolates were delicious. There is not one negative thing to say- we had the perfect getaway at this most amazing property!!

We truly do not know where to start; whether it’s the B&B or the owner, whose name is Billi. They’re both exceptional! This is our 3d Visit in two years. Thanks Billi for making each experience special

We recently stayed at the Bischwind B&B for 5 nights during a trip back to the Bear Creek area for a family wedding. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our time. The Inn is so very special to me in many ways. 36 years ago I had my first son Anthony’s baby shower held here. All the wonderful charm and historical beauty is still present today. Every room holds its own uniqueness. From the magnificent stone fireplaces to the beautiful woodwork throughout the home you truly feel like you are in a different era. Our room was The Nook and it was absolutely perfect. The bed was very comfortable right down the the soft sheets and pillows. Having the little extra room with the refrigerator and day bed was wonderful since we had extra luggage for the time we spent there. The outside grounds with rolling green hills, a lovely covered porch and beautiful pool area are so beautiful. The owner and proprietor Billi is one of the main reasons for the overall superb experience. She is so nice, pleasant and accommodating in every way. Her fantastic breakfast every morning was delicious and always perfect. I’m absolutely amazed at how she runs this entire place so well and basically all on her own. Billi will always hold a special place in my life and being able to spend 5 nights in her amazing home and chatting with her every day was something I will cherish forever. I highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway or extended trip if you love and appreciate the beauty of an historic mansion in a woodsy setting that transports you in time. …

Bischwind B&B is like a small old mansion very well preserved and maintained. We stayed for three nights in the Blue room. Everything was perfect, the room, the food, and Billi herself. Thank you Billi for your hospitality

From the time I called to inquire about a stay, to the last goodbye, Billi treated me like I was a friend, not customer. This B&B is exquisitely maintained. The grounds are beautiful. The room had high ceilings, luxurious towels and linens, and everything one needs for a weekend retreat. Brunch was also exceptional, with generous portions perfectly made. What a special place - I cannot wait to return.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Bischwind. The Theodore Roosevelt Suite was an absolute dream, with her being a librarian and myself a historian. The suite was lovely, from the bookshelves to the fireplace to the bathroom sinks. There is an antique Steinway piano in the mansion ballroom as well. Billi was a wonderful hostess from the beginning and she makes the most delicious breakfast! If we had more time, my wife and I would have walked the trails that are on the beautiful property. Such a neat place - we will definitely revisit!

Searching for a nice place for a anniversary getaway, I found Bischwind. My initial interest was captured by the English Tudor architecture. The mansion and grounds looked beautiful, and it had an outdoor pool. I was hoping to catch a final summerlike weekend in September. Moving my research onto TripAdvisor reviews, I encountered one great review after another. Could it be this great? Well, our weekend didn’t turn out summerlike, in fact it was cool and rainy the entire weekend. Never got to use the pool. I can now say that yes the reviews are accurate. Starting with the drive up the driveway, the property is stunning inside and out. Meticulously maintained and clean. So much character and history. We were greeted by Billi, the Innkeeper who was as welcoming as all of the reviews noted. She gave us a tour of the mansion and showed us our room and other available rooms. They all look great! She has an extensive knowledge of the area and gave us & others also visiting ideas of what to do in the area. Breakfast was great each day. The view from our guestroom window made us feel like we were a continent away in a different world! Look forward to returning again!…

I was there last weekend with friends to see the Indy car races and the B&B is truly a beautiful place to stay at. Excellent views from the front of the house out to a waterfall in the background. Truly a relaxing experience. Billi was a perfect hostess and her breakfast was delish! Plan on bringing girlfriend their next.
