Just got back today from Country Cottages (Forester). Had an amazing time. The grounds were well kept, the cottage was clean and comfortable with plenty of amenities. Came here with the wife and my two boys as well as another family of three. Kids had a great time in the creek in the back.
Personal touch of a complimentary bundle of firewood upon arrival was spot on and deserves mention and kudos. Great perk! Plenty of utensils, pots, pans, glassware, flatware etc. The patio was sweet as well, with its accompanying rocker bench. Rocker bench and coffee makes for a SWEET early morning routine.
Matt, the owner/manager, was always available and very accommodating. This was our first visit. But certainly not the last. Looking forward to visiting again. Matt, see you in 2021!

My family and I stayed at one of the cottages and it was great. The cottages are cozy and clean. We had a stream at the back where my daughter played in the water. You also have access to a pool which was not crowded at all. All the cottages have fire pits and bbq grills. We used both. We didnt have firewood but you can call the office and Matt was great in delivering the fire wood. We made s'mores and relaxed around the fire pit.

Matt the owner and his partner were incredibly welcoming, helpful and had the property in amazing shape. The cabin (Woodcrest cottage) was just refurbished and looked great. It had everything we needed. There were so many activities and amenities for the kids to enjoy on the property. We'll definitely be coming back and will probably make it a regular vacation spot. Thanks for the great week, Matt!

My husband and I wanted to have a mountain getaway in the Poconos. The cabins at Countryside were absolutely perfect. Located right off of the main rt.611, the location was perfectly central to anything you would want to explore. The cabin was stocked with all the amenities you would need to make your stay like home. The staff was awesome as well. Just remember to bring your own towels :)

Great little getaway!

We found this place several years ago after the location we booked was just too disgusting to stay in. That trip we stayed in the Westerner, which has 4 bedrooms, and it was wonderful. This trip we went for a family reunion. We are originally from this area, and had no idea it was there. We had the Woodbrook, which is 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and my sister had the Woodcrest, which is also 2 bedrooms and right next door. The website says they hold 4-5 but really it’s 6-7 due to daybeds. My only complaints would be that the showers are very small, the beds are a bit hard, and there is no wi-fi. You need to bring your own towels, toiletries and stuff. They provide bed linens and pillow, and the kitchen has dishes, pots and pans, a stove with oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and coffeemaker. There are also a few box fans for the summer time, and a fireplace for the winter. Anything else you need to provide. We had such an awesome time. We had some other family in another cabin a couple doors down. The kids had such a great time playing on the playground, using the pool, and the giant field to play various games. When we had a family picnic with a lot of my family in the area coming over, the owners brought down 2 large trash cans and then came back to get them later after everyone left (usually you take your own trash up by the office to dispose of). We had a wonderful time enjoying the porch, grilling, and spending time together in such a relaxing environment. With the stream running behind the cabins, and the quiet of the cabin property, you would never know that RT 611 is on the other side of the trees. You are close to several grocery stores, Target, multiple restaurants, Camelback, Crossings Outlets, and pretty much everything in the Poconos.
I would stay no other place when going home again unless it is with family and friends if I’m going up for more than a few days. I highly recommend it. Their website has more pictures.

Our extended family spent a weekend here and it was terrific for all. The cabins are not too close together so good for privacy. They are quite nice with real wood paneling & brick or stone fireplacestoves. Kitchens are well-stocked but if you need something just call the owners -- who live on the premises -- and they will bring it to you. Each has a nice sizable front porch with tables, chairs, rocker/swing. We had two 2-bedroom cottages; one slept 7 one slept 6 with surprisingly comfortable beds (daybed in the living room) & lovely quilts/linens. Located right off 611 so close to everything but feels very "woodsy". Very green but with asphalt walkways for strollers or the elderly tho there is one steep but paved hill. There are ample grounds with gazebos benches swings tucked here & there, a tennis court, a basketball court, plenty of fishing spots along the stream. There is a WONDERFUL outdoor swimming pool with a DIVING BOARD (so rare these days my kids had never seen one). There's a nice game room : a couple video games, fussball, ping pong table &a really nice pool table all at no extra charge. Also a lovely playground area with swing/slides, monkeybars &the sweetest little hand-made playhouse stocked with a myriad of toys. Just bring your own bath towels &kitchen towels

We rented 7 of the cabins for a week long family reunion and it couldn't have been more perfect!! Each family had there own space with enough room between the buildings to lend some privacy. The children spent hours in the pool, the playhouse and the game room or hula-hooping on the hill. The cabins are clean and comfortable and the Strands are most accommodating!! We were even able to use the main room of the Lodge two nights, once for a chili bake-off and the other for our farewell dinner. I can't imagine a finer spot for a large , very reasonably priced family gathering and hope to return soon!

We decided to do a last minute weekend trip to the poconos and this place was perfect! The owners were so accommodating to our need for a late check in. To find a place that is dog friendly is nearly impossible . These cozy charming cottages were amazing! Behind our cottage was a beautiful stream. There is enough land for the dogs to walk and run. Very quiet and peaceful . We saved a ton of money by cooking at "home" since each cottage comes with a fully stocked working kitchen. We truly loved it here and can not wait to come back in a few months!! We for sure found our "go to" place from now on when visiting the poconos!!

Spent 4 days and 3 nights. Had the best experience. The place was extremely clean. And the owners were amazingly friendly. Would definitely go back. Already planning our next vacation there. Being able to bring our dogs to a cabin that doesn't smell like animals was great. You would never know that there were any animals on site. Everything was clean there was no dog poop anywhere.

This is a very well-maintained property, each cottage has a fire pit. There is a large swimming pool, a play ground area as well as places to play soccer, basketball, tennis, whatever you may wish. Matt was very friendly. The cottage was clean albeit it was dark in there - could use brighter lightbulbs. The only reason I don't give this a 5 star rating (no fault of the owners) is I-80 and PA-611 are nearby and I don't like road noise. The property is situated centrally to visit the different areas of the Pocono Mountains. There is no A/C but each bedroom had at least one fan. (Due to Covid, you must bring your bedding, towels, etc.)
